Logitech 5.1 Speakers Messed Up

Feb 4, 2010

I have windows 7 and a realtek HD soundcard which supports 5.1 with dolby home theatre.I bought the logitech x530 5.1 surround sound speakers and when doing the test int he realtek control panel, the sounds for the front speakers are coming from the rear speakers and visa versa. I double checked the manual and I have them in the right place. Is there anything I can do to fix? (apart from switching the front speakers with the rear speakers. As the wires on the front speakers are shorter than thoses for the front so they don't really reach.

External Speakers Work, Laptop Speakers Do Not

Dec 12, 2009

I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

5.1 Speakers But Test Signal Only On 2 Speakers

Dec 7, 2012

I have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.

I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.

I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.

Note:

- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers

- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers

I have Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.

No Sound From Speakers

i have an msi 785gtm-e45 mother board. i have no sound coming from the speakers. tried new speakers and still no sound. if i click on the speaker icon on the bottom right it shows the speaker graph going up and down as sound is being produced. i tried the head phones and nothing coming from them either. i tried playing a cd and nothing from there either. i first noticed it when i was trying to play something from Internet and thought it might just be the site but then i tried off line as well. i am running windows 7 home premium. i have checked all the settings i can think of but probably have missed something somewhere.

USB Speakers Not Working

Dec 1, 2009

Upgraded to 7 two days ago and cannot get anything out of them. Diagnostics tells me they are working and all drivers are up to date. I have tried designating them as default device and no sound comes out of the computer at all.

When I designate the internal speakers as default and then plug in the usb speakers, the internal speakers continue to work but nothing comes out of the usb speakers. Does anyone know if these are just incompatible with 7 or am I doing something wrong..

No Speakers Or Headphones Are Plugged In?

May 1, 2010

I tried searching for the solution to this problem but even after installing the realtek drivers, i still get that issue of no speakers or headphones.Below is information about the onboad sound.

[code]...

I had not used my desktop for one week due to some problem of too much dust accumlating in the machine. Due to this the system would not power up. After the dust was removed, system powers up but i now get this problem with sound. Before this everything was fine. The speakers work fine on the laptop.I installed the drivers from the motherboard driver disc. I am using a gigabyte board (GA-G31M-ES2L).I have installed the drivers directly from the gigabyte website for my motherboard as well as from the realtek website. Also updated bios online from gigabyte server. But none of these methods causes sound to be restored.Theres no exclamation mark by the audio drivers in Device Manager. I have removed the audio drivers and after a restart, i still get the "no speakers or headphones are plugged in" error on the speaker icon.In device manager after restarting the system, i get the "high definition audio" device listed under "Sound, video and game controllers".Now i am wondering there is something wrong with the motherboard.

Beeps Don't Appear To Be Coming From Speakers

Nov 8, 2011

My Dell Inspirion laptop consistently makes a series of loud beeping sounds (5 beeps, 4 cycles) when starting up and sometimes continues at an almost inaudible level while in use. The beeps don't appear to be coming from the speakers. The machine is fairly new. I've tried to research this via Google couldn't find an explanation for the beep codes or a way to make it stop. I've run complete BIOS scans, checked for Malware, etc and the beeps continue.

When I go to the Speaker Icon in the system tray and right-click to bring up the dialog then go to recording devices, what I get is this: No audio devices are installed. The playback dialog shows the correct information: High definition audio device. Default device.

Realtek HD Will Not Recognize Speakers?

Nov 19, 2011

I put together my new machine yesterday and I'm thrilled with it. i2500k, 8gb GSkill, Samsung SSD and it flies. Took me a snap to install and just like a couple of years ago when I set up my old machine I've been at for 24 hours now, most of which have been awake trying to just get some damn sound to my speakers.'ve read hundreds of forum posts and tried everything from flashing the BIOS to various versions of the drivers but the results are always the same. No matter what port I plug my speakers into (a 2.1 system with a single 1/8th to 1/8th cable) Realtek will not recognize my speakers and will not even detect that a new device has been plugged in which is the most frustrating part.As you can see from the images I'm getting output levels no problem whatsoever. And here's a couple of images of my settings: Speakers are fine, they work with my iPod just perfectly. Adding more frustration I connected a USB webcam with built-in microphone and when I make a call I can be heard well.Is there anything else that I should be looking at?To add a little info, I just disconnected the front panel audio connectors from the motherboard and that didn't change a thing either.
