how to deny internet access to all my programs by default? I mean that internet access is completely blocked to my existing programs, files, etc. and to all future programs that I might install or files that may be created.
And ONLY those Programs and Files have access to the internet that I allow and give permission to. P.S. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, but can't seem to figure out the appropriate settings..
She was saying that the person who's computer I was replacing uses there shared HP Deskjet 6540 to print most documents when really it should only be used to print one type: 'lables.docx.'
So this got me wondering whether it were possible or not to deny printing rights to the 6540 from applications such as Outlook - whilst keeping them in word and program 'x' but also allowing Outlook to print to other printers in the office.
Now I think even before asking that this is probably not possible but I need to know either way.
I am trying to deny access to a particular .exe using applocker. I have created a rule and the default rules, and made sure the appIDSvc service is running. My rule is not being enforced. The application runs normally. If I check the event log I can see a bunch of warnings stating appidsvc.dll:AppLocker component not available on this SKU. Not sure if this is a symptom or something else.

However, admin credentials are requested and if entered correctly, the user can write to the external drive. I want to configure this to allow writing to a removable device ONLY if the user is in the correct security group or a member of the domain administrators. In other words, this policy would apply to all users and be denied to the security group. We are still in a 2003 domain, although most of our DCs are now Windows 2008 R2. This policy would apply only to users logging in to our Windows 7 machines.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMost of my programs work fine (Firefox, IE8, Xfire, Halo, etc.); but a lot of the other ones can't seem to access the internet. Windows Live's setup always seems to give me that problem, plus Windows Update and McCafee (!!).
I'm running the .exe's as administrators in computability mode for Vista when needed, but it's still not working. Can anybody fix this please?
I installed Windows 7 on my 64 bit HP machine as an upgrade vs clean install- computer came with Vista and I upgraded to Windows 7 prior to loading programs on it. Norton Internet Security, itunes, Adobe Lightroom, TomTom Home cannot access their servers for updates etc.
I can access internet via IE and get Windows updates via the internet. I tried disabling the Windows firewall, allowing prpgorams access to internet via firewall, tried adv setting in firewall. Nothing worked.
Any suggestions?
I just reformatted my computer and installed Windows 7 64bit. I can access the internet just fine on Google Chrome. I can download at the fastest speed my connection will allow. Some programs, 2 in particular, won't allow connections but others will. Examples are: Ventrilo, and PlayOnline will access the internet, but GSC and Final Fantasy XI will not allow connections. I've gone through the router and opened ports for them, disabled UAC and windows firewall. I do not have any other firewall or virus scanner installed yet as they interfered on previous systems setting up my commonly used programs. I've also tried running the programs as administrator to no avail.

Internet Explorer 64Bit works and Internet Explorer 32Bit crashes.Firefox, MSN, and Ventrilo are all 32Bit and no longer work. Windows update still works as thats 64Bit. View 5 Replies View Related[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect.
- Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect.
- Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.

However, it does not appear as a default program when I am trying to use the "associate a file type or protocal with a specific program" even when I press the browse list. The program also does not appear when I "right click" the file itself and use the open command. The program also does not appear in the list of programs on the "All Progams: list when clicking the windows icon. anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.
