I've installed shark007 codec pack, now wmp plays everything, but when I try to play avi file with more than 1 audio stream, all of them bigin to play simultaneously, creating a huge mess. Am I able to choose just 1 stream in WMP as I can in media player classic, etc.?
View 2 RepliesI have a Radeon HD5850 with a HDMI output that is plugged on my HDTV, I am using Win 7 and the last Catalyst drivers.The video is working just fine (extended desktop, I can play a movie on the TV while playing a game on my monitor on the other desktop) but I have a problem separating the audio streams.Is there a way (built in windows, ati driver or external program...) to send the audio stream of some applications (the movie basically) on the HDMI output, and the streams of other applications on my regular audio output at the same time?Usually on Win7 when you have 2 sound cards you can just set one as default, launch your program, then set the other one as default and launch the other programs and that will do the trick (the streams stay on the output that was the "default output" when they were launched). But with the HDMI of the Radeon, when I switch the default adapter, all the sound is switched..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm going to preface this with the fact I have a USB headset, is a logitech G35). The way it works is this. I'm playing SWTOR lately, it doesn't have an audio option to choose the audio device. When I played LOTRO, what I would often do is set it to play the audio through the speakers when I was on skype (or vent) so I didn't have to wear my headphones, as it tends to hurt after too long. I put the audio through the speakers (which I can do with skype) and just set them down on the desk to use the mic that way.
However, because SWTOR doesn't have an option to change the device that the audio plays through it automatically goes through the headphones. Now normally it wouldn't be a big problem because I'd just change the program to use the speakers but I can't in this case, so I was wondering if there is a hardware or software way to override that. because they are a USB set, you can't even just not plug in the speaker plug. I just have standard onboard sound, its just saying "HD Audio", its from a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 motherboard.
I have three audio devices on my pc (ATI HDMI, Via HD onboard and steelseries usb soundcard) and through all devices I only get audio out of the left channel. I have tried two pairs on headphones and my tv speakers all with the same results. I have looked at all the balancing end everything is set to even on both channels.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have a dual screen setup, the primary a computer monitor and the secondary an HDTV hooked up via HDMI cable. Accordingly I have 2 sound setups; a set of speakers at my desk and the other is the TV's speakers.
The problem is most programs have no option to choose the audio playback device. Everything goes to the default in Windows, so I have to manually change it every time to either the TV or the speakers. I only really use the HDTV to watch videos and want only the sound from that specific program to play on the TV, and everything else on my desk speakers.
I had a workaround to this in Vista. By setting the default audio device to the HDTV Windows would automatically switch the audio output to the speakers when disabling the secondary monitor which could be done easily with UltraMon. Windows 7 audio playback doesn't seem to detect this change so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a solution or workaround.
First post here, I did a search and did not find any specific answer to my problem. Firstly I am running Win 7 Ultimate with an Nvidia 8600 GT video card running HDMI through the SPDIF output to the graphics card.
My problem is getting my pc to duplicate to my HDTV when I hit the windows+p shortcut and select the duplicate option everything goes OK and I get pics on both monitors. The problem is that my PC changes resolution and slightly distorts. By distorts I mean circles look like eggs but HDTV is fine.
My monitor is set to 1920x1280. I have the latest drivers installed and have re-installed them twice to be sure. I get them same error using the Nvidia Control panel, when running XP I had no problems at all doing this and running the correct resolution on both outputs.
The other problem is when using VLC I get audio out to the HDTV no problem but when I try and use Windows Media center or player I get no sound at all.
I want to put speakers out on my patio, could i have 2 sets of speakers hooked up to my PC and switch which ones the music is sent to as and when? will i need anything special as in hardware or software?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 Professional, Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard, and an Asus 660ti.I want to have 3 devices connected through audio out.My monitor connected via HDMI, 2.1 Logitech speakers via a headphone jack, and my Astro Mixamp also via a headphone jack.However with the current setup I can't have audio play through my monitor while the mixamp is connected. Is there a way to fix this with software? Either the Realtek HD Audio Manager or the windows audio manager? I want it to output to both so I can simply take off my headset when I want to use the monitor speakers or mute the tv when I have my headset on. I don't want to have to unplug the mixamp in order to use the monitor speakers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BLUEETOOTH dongle attached to each of my 3 systems. I use BLUETOOTH as my default audio device The sound quality is great.(Far better than that of a laptop.) I have a BLUETOOTH reciever attached to my stereo system, used for streaming PANDORA radio. I also have several other portable BLUETOOTH recievers, one of which I like to use outside on the deck. Why is it that WINDOWS 7 only allows 1 audio device to be used at a time. I would like to stream audio to multiple BLUETOOTH devices, but WINDOWS 7 does not allow that. When right clicking on the speaker icon to bring up "playback devices", only one device is allowed to be set as default! Also, if I want to pair with a second device, a pop up window tells me that I must first disconnect the device that is already paired, before I can pair a different device.

From Options - Display, I chose show hidden text and it was "Top of Form" at the top of the page. But I got curious about this and made some search and I realized that you can hide text in a txt file with a stream method and also there can be hidden streams in processes also.How can I find out if a doc(x) file has no streams in it. I mean the hidden text may be seen by the method of Options - Display; but can someone hide something with a password in a doc(x) file? If yes, how can I find this out?

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems.The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening.My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
I have been getting a fairly random blue screens and I cannot pin point it myself. I know a bit about diagnosing and repairing issues but this one is just a pain in my butt. I have attached a second monitor to my laptop which runs Windows 7, however, I need to set different resolutions for different monitors, because the display does not fit to fill the screen on both monitors.
It is also noted that the display is replicated, and I would like to have the effect of having different desktops e.g. being able to use different applications such as debugging code on one monitor on an IDE such as Visual Studio, and, viewing the browser on the other monitor.
Currently it does not seem possible since the behavior seems to be that the same resolution is replicated on both monitors.
Does anyone know of a software available that lets you reboot from Windows and choose another OS besides the auto default, in a multiboot scenario?
I need something like this because I Dameware into my other computer a lot and would like to be able to get it to boot to another OS than default, remotely.
I guess I could use EasyBCD to change the default OS when I want to reboot but hoping to do this without editing bcd.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am going to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium on my PC and was about to download the latest ISO-file from Digital River when I found that there seems to be TWO different versions.One is called: Windows 7 Professional SP1-U ISO and the 64-bit Swedish filename is: X17-59273.iso.However there is also a Windows 7 Professional N SP1-U ISO (Note: N editions come without media components) with the Swedish file name: X17-59424.iso.So what does this "N" after "Professional" mean? That is, what does it mean that the edition comes "without media components"??As I am going to download the ISO-file and then boot from an USB-stick, which one should I choose? And I guess that, even if the ISO file is labeled as a Windows 7 Professional, I will be able to choose Windows 7 home Premium 64-bit during the installation process, right?
