Can't Find Scanned Documents
Nov 15, 2009I installed Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade from Vista Ultimate and then I installed the latest driver and software from HP for my Officejet 7410. Everything works OK except my scanned documents are not in "My Scans" even though that sd where the HP scanning software says that is where they were sent.

Before doing a recovery, I have some files I would like to retrieve from the MyDocuments folder (pics, etc) but cannot find the directory from the command prompt. I have already copied some documents that were not in that folder, but I haven't been able to find the MyDocuments directory tree.

Apr 5, 20121.I had created a locker on my desktop using "Folder Lock" software.
2.Subsequently I made the locker invisible using "Folder Protect" software.
3.When I was trying to add more files to the locker created in 1 the locker tried to "increase it's size on the run"...
4.This process failed and "Folder Lock" shut down and since then I cannot locate the locker anymore on my PC nor can I see it in "Folder Protect"
5.Having read on a forum, I uninstalled "Folder Protect" and reinstalled...but that did not help..I still could not find the Locker.
6.I even uninstalled and reinstalled "Folder Lock"...even this did not help
7.I understand the lockers created by "Folder Lock" are UNDELETABLE.
8.Clearly my locker is somewhere on my hard disk but I am unable to locate it.
Trying To Restore Documents?
Aug 27, 2012My computer crashed, I did a backup system restore with a thumb drive from Dell. I was able to copy my documents to an external drive. It restored the folders but when I click, they are empty. But if you click on "Properties," they contain files but I can't seem to get to them. Does what I said make any sense at all?

Aug 29, 2012I have 2 users defined to my W7 computer, lets say Jack (administrator) and Jill (normal user). Both users have had their "My Documents" moved to a second disk drive E: as "Jack's Documents" and "Jill's Documents".
Recently (I first noticed it on 26th August) both users started to see two "My Documents" folders on the E: drive in Windows Explorer. One contains Jack's files and folders, the other Jill's files and folders. I'm sure (but have no proof) that Jack used to see "My Documents" and "Jill's Documents", and Jill used to see "My Documents" and "Jack's Documents".
I've searched for information about this problem but can only find examples for duplicate "My Documents" folders for a single user.
The Bar At The Top Of My Documents Has Disappeared
Nov 18, 2011When I click on "My Documents" I often then go to the Desktop by clicking to the right of a small window/bar at the top. It then opens up "Desktop", which is just above it in the"family tree". I click on "Desktop" to quickly go to it.
Suddenly this bar has disappeared. How to I get it back again?

I don't know how to explain what is it but the close button (X) and minimise buttons etc arent at the top of the screen, they are 1cm below because the browser etc doesnt fill the screen. When I am playing games it uses the whole screen I was just wondering why it is leaving a gap, it used to fill the whole screen then suddenly started doing this. May 1, 2012I have a friend with the same problem as I found by searching "Mydocuments and local user setting have all disappeared" but when we checked the hidden box, she can see the main folders but all of the files - docs pictures excel files - are gone. The folders all appear empty but she can open them from Recents and the show to be in her previous folders that are now gone. She had several pop ups that was telling her the C drive was corrupt and windows files were missing so I had her unhook the internet and they went away. Her Norton had run out so she was going to uninstall it and reinstall the version that came on CD so she was unprotected for a few days. but when she ran the new Norton and did a scan, all it showed bad were the cookies. We also downloaded Ad-Aware and scanned for spy junk and it showed nothing. The PC is an HP but I don't know more right now. It is only 2 months old. I am going to her house in the morning to see what I can find out but if you, saint19, see this tonight, can you give me any pointers on where to look? Her desktop image went away along with all the shortcuts except Recycle Bin, MS Word and Excel.

I was trying to find a file the other day and what I did was sort a folder contents in My Documents by date modified to find the file. Great! I found the file I was looking for. The problem is, now the My Documents folder is not displayed correctly and I can't figure out how to fix it to display correctly. For example folder names in My Documents are:Word Docs, System Stuff, ## Outlook, My Scans, Temporary Copy Spot, Nexus One Related etc.These are displayed in that order. By my question, I want the folders displayed in order by name meaning the list above should be Left to Right:## Outlook Files, My Scans, Nexus One Related, Temporary Copy Spot, Word Docs etc. If I select : Arrange by Name, I see a list of all files inside of all the folders. If I select Arrange by Folders, I see the list folders in the incorrect order I have listed above. If I select any other option, I am presented with file lists of all files in all the folders in My Documents.How do I get this fixed to display correctly? I haven't tried a system restore as these files are personal files and System Restore doesn't touch them. Oct 20, 2010I've just acquired a new laptop with Windows 7, and so last night used Easy Transfer to get all my documents onto the new machine. Today I've been trying to get everything in order. A few minutes ago I noticed that the documents folder contained a subfolder, also named documents, so I decided to get rid of the subfolder and place the files directly in the main documents folder. When I then deleted the subfolder, all my documents disappeared (almost 9 gigabytes). They were not in the bin, and I could not redo the deletion.Luckily I see they can be found under C:/ User/ Documents, but I cannot seem to be able to copy them to replace them in the Documents

Jan 27, 2012Followed all instructions in BSOD posting. Running retail Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1 with all latest updates. Age of system and OS is 3 months old.
Before the BSOD I've noticed symptoms whenever I play Battlefield 3. The system keeps asking me if I want to use Windows Basic Theme and said my system was out of memory, which I think is not possible since I have 2GB of video RAM and 8GB of system RAM.
I do not install anything unnecessary on my system other than things I need and know I will use. I run weekly full system images using Acronis TIH 2010 (build 7160)
Is there a way I can open and view the BSOD's error code? I forgot to take a picture when it BSOD'ed on me.
Cant Found Documents On Desktop
Aug 31, 2010I saved a copy of a document to my desktop and also have one in another file in my documents. Now when I try to delete the document on my desktop, it says the file can't be found. I can't get it off my desktop.
