Pictures And Documents Just Up And Closing?
Oct 26, 2011I load my pictures that are stored on my computer when I go to my documents and after 30 seconds or so the whole program just up and closes out.

Pictures & Documents Folders On E Drive
Aug 21, 2011I was running out room on C drive so I moved Pictures & Documents folders to E drive. Now I'm planning to do a clean install of 7. Will those folders and contents be safe if I leave them on E drive while I'm reinstalling 7 on C drive?

May 7, 2012I just purchased a new desktop computer system.I am using Windows 7.I'm trying to think how to describe this so that it makes sense.I am the only person who uses this computer. The staff member who transferred my data from my damaged computer to the new one apparently gave the computer my full first name and then gave my "nickname" the Admin role. Now I appear to have two My pictures and my documents in the library. My photos are scattered between the two My Pictures. When I save something to my pictures it doesn't end up where I expect it to be. It could be in either My Pictures.Not sure if that makes any sense at all to you ... I don't want two sets of pictures and two sets of documents.When I save a picture I want it to go to the same place every time unless I designate it somewhere else.Before I start deleting/moving anything I need to understand why my pictujres are going to one area sometimes and sometimes the other.

Sep 22, 2011They were working then I rebooted the pc today and went to click on computer and nothing happens, the only thing is the little folder icon comes on the taskbar and that's it, it doesn't open.Also all of a sudden my events viewer doesn't work either, get this error, specified query is invalid 15001BTW system restore wasn't on, I guess when I fixed my booting problem it turned it off, the only drives that had restore enabled where my other 2 drives not the one I needed.

Jul 4, 2011I have two pc's in my home. One running windows 7 32 BIT, and one running Win 7 64 bit. I created a home group on the laptop, as I want to grab some files from the laptop and bring over to the Desktop unit (the desktop unit is the one running 64 BIT win 7). Both machines have different names and the clock is set with the right time. When I create the home group on my Laptop, and select files that I want to share, the basic libraries ARE viewable on the Desktop machine.
I can see Documents, Picture folders, but I cannot open them! I can also change the password on the Laptop, and then PC will be able to enter the correct password to join the homegroup, so I know they can see each other. But again, not able to open the folders. If I go on my Laptop computer and "right click" on a folder, and then go to "share with"... the default is set to "nobody" with a lock icon next to it. If I select "Homegroup" it does not change! It stays locked with "nobody"?

May 23, 2011I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result.In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.

Feb 25, 2011My desktop PC running Windows 7 64 bit behaves erratically when I close it down using the Start Orb - shut down button. Sometimes it closes down fully on other occasions the computer goes into a deep sleep, (the hard drive light continues to flash, the fans are running, the monitor screen goes off) but it will not respond to either the keyboard or the mouse, both of which are connected by USB cables.I then have to close down the computer by holding in the power button for about 10 seconds.When I next require the computer it boots normally and seems oblivious to its shut-down problem.I always ensure that no programs are running when I shut down the computer and cannot see any clues regarding what I was last doing before shut-down that might trigger a problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB device drivers to no avail.

Mar 8, 2011I recently installed the new service pack for windows 7 and since then seem when I try to close down a program such as Word, Excel, my browser or Outlook they take ages to shut down. Computer seems to lock freeze quite often as well and take several seconds to start running again.

Programs Closing Can't Be Found
May 5, 2011when running several programs on my Dell Inspiron laptop (Windows 7).
1)Outlook keeps stopping, Windows says it's checking for problems and can't find any.
2)Can't open the volume control and I have no sound lthough when I hover over the small icon on the lower right of the computer it says its at 52%
3)Can't open Windows Movie Maker from the start menu or from locating the .exe file within the C: drive.
probably others I haven't encountered today.Running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a Dell Inspiron 1545, have had it over a year. Using Avira AntiVir personal, perform full scans each night. Problem began last night (5/4/11). I received a backup file for Quickbooks Pro 2011 via e-mail and tried to restore it to Quickbooks (something I do weekly). QB program would begin opening, but couldn't. After working with a great tech from Intuit we discovered the folder holding the QB data files was the problem (corrupted?) and worked around the problem by creating a folder on the desktop to use for data and backups.Steps I've taken so far:
1) Updated MalWarebytes AntiMalware and ran a full scan. No malicious software found.
2) Ran the defrag program. C: had 3% (if I remember right) fragmented, and it ran 5 passes to fix that.
3) Updated CCleaner and ran the cleaner to delete unneeded files.
5) Avira had run last night and found nothing, so I didn't run it again.
6) In looking at Task Manager there's a file that seems out of place: qbw32.exe *32 Quickbooks isn't open and the usual QB program file is just qbw32.exe without the *32, so maybe that's a clue.
7) Another possible clue: our other computer has slowed to a crawl..currently on its 16th hour running a malwarebytes scan. Both access the same verizon e-mail so maybe something came through e-mail to plague us.
Oblivion Keeps Not Responding And Closing
Nov 15, 2011OKay, so this week oblivion was on sale for 5 bucks on steam and im like sure, why not, because my xbox game broke forever ago. I purchase it and install it and when i try and start it up and press play in the launcher, it says, "Oblivion has stopped working". I can't get it to work. What I don't get is that I can run Skyrim on maximum graphic settings.

I am an architecture student and am using a program called Revit to render 3D models regularly. Due to the long render times find myself stuck waiting many hrs up to many days with my computer tied up rendering. Recently, after a lapse in smart thinking, my battery went dead and I thought I had lost 4 hrs of rendering time. I then disappointingly restarted my computer to restart the render but found that Windows had saved, as a last effort to maintain my program files and unsaved data, the progress of the render and it continued upon reboot.

now in Windows 7 x64 when i right click a program in the taskbar and hit 'c' it simply highlights the "close window" option... requiring me to either have to hit enter or click on the selected option "close window"
is it possible to have things work like they used to ?? such that a right-click and then the letter 'c' would close the window without any additional input ?

I am using a browser, and for example looking at the forum here. When I close the browser without logging out from the forum and then restart the browser I am still logged in.
This never happens with Vista, I always have to login again
Does seven not close the programs properly to speed up the re-opening??

Itunes Freezes When Closing?

Very often when I close Windows Live Mail 2011, Microsoft Security Essentials or Word Pad the corresponding process is killed but the window will not disappear before I click the Desktop Ikon. It only happens with those 3 programs. The 4 PCs are 1 Sony Vaio Laptop, 1 ThinkPad T60 and 2 ASUS Desktop PCs. It have been the same alle the time (for more than 1 year). Everything is 100% updated. W7s are OEM Versions. The Log do not show any problems referring to this issue.
