Jan 28, 2009I just installed Windows 7 and updated all my drivers. I am missing two drivers, and I don't know what they are:
PCI Serial Port
PCI Simple Communication Controller
What exactly are these? I own a Lenovo X200 Tablet. Any ideas where I can find the drivers for these two things?
Pci Serial Port Driver Not Installed On Win 7
Oct 25, 2009I'm operating on a desktop intel dq35j0 and clean installed window 7 ultimate.
in device manager two errors appeared
pci serial port driver not installed ( code28)
simple communications controller driver not installed (code 28)
checked hardware id's in device manager as follows
pcven_8086&dev_29b7&subsys_4f4a8086&rev_02 for serial port driver
and the same hardware id for the simple com controller
Ive tried to search these drivers on intel site but get lost as to wher I may find these drivers.
the same issue is a problem on two other pc's after cleaninstall of win 7
1.) is an hp dx2000 nt
here the network controller driver has not installed
the hardware id is
pciven_0675&dev_1702&subsys_6692&rev_00
2.) is a hp pavillion dv6 (1125ei) notebook
here an "unknown device" driver not loaded
the hardware id is
acpihpq004 (double zero fout and not thriple zero four).

Sep 17, 2009I installed Windows 7 Professional x84 earlier today. After I log on I get through the Welcome load screen to what seems to be affectionately labeled the "Black Screen of Death." Well I've browsed through these forums for a while now, and tried every solution I could find:
I'm guessing that it's a driver for "something" because My computer 'works' in Safe Mode.
My Black Screen is just that, a Black Screen. No mouse, no flicker, no start menu. It is a black screen.
I do hear some sounds, such as being logged into Skype.
I do have a custom Wallpaper (some people mentioned it here or there, but I'm not exactly sure how to change it ala safe mode)
