For Background Pictures / How To You Do 'fit To Size' And 'tiles' At Same Time
Aug 16, 2012
If I do the original size than it is way too overblown, but when I do fit to size (or whatever you call them) it has two black bars on flanking on the sides, so i want to fix that with tiles. But if I do tiles it shows them at original size which is overblown.
I recently did a system restore on my laptop... HP 625. Windows 7.Then I logged in as normal and I've somehow lost the Personalise option on the desktop drop down menu.I can't even go into pictures and set a background. Also, the Windows 7 theme has completely disappeared and it's changed to a windows classic theme? I had to do the system restore because it wouldn't log in, even though the password was correct. It interrupts with the internet speed and looks plain freaking ugly.
I have two pictures that I use for my desktop background which I set to change every 12 hours; I do this via the Personalization > Desktop Background (Slide Show). As far as I can tell, it changes my background at 1pm and 1am everyday. But what I want to do is to choose the time it changes, e.g., 8pm and 8am. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I need to reduce the actual file size of a lot of pictures that I have, I want to do them all in one go and I don't think paint is capable of doing this. A simple bat/batch file command would be ok?
I am noticing that Outlook is very slow to open emails with background images which are placed into the body tag of a message. Usually when I create an email marketing campaign I give my email message a background picture by placing markup similar to the following into the body tag;<body style="background-image: url('http://myserver/somepicture.jpg');>Traditionally this has been fine, however over the last day I have noticed that Outlook takes a very long time to open these kinds of messages. I have had a look through my old email campaigns, and much to my surprise I have found messages which opened fine six months ago taking a long time to open. This issue is happening on more than just my computer, as I have asked staff & customers about their Outlook experience, and some have even reported a complete crash of Outlook.I am using Outlook 2010, however I think that Outlook 2007 is also being affected.
Using Windows 7, every time I boot up the icon size and font is different size either , large or small. I want large, but how do I change to lar.ge and keep it that way (make it default). Windows 7 now gives me what It wants. No pattern
I do a lot of software development work using Notepad++ and the windows command prompt as my main tools. Everytime I open these applications, I adjust Notepad++ to take up 80% of the screen, and 20% for the command prompt to run the command line app that I'm writing.During my work, sometimes I'll minimize close/resize these windows, but I'l like them to alwasy open at the same locations and sizes not matter where they where when I closed them.
I have a HP Pavilion G6, second gen i3 laptop with 4GB ram. Recently I've been noticing my browser displaying a weird set of tile image at random times. From my experience, this only occurs on one tab at a time. That is, one tab will display the weird image, while other tab won't. I'm able to scroll up/down on that particular tab, but I won't be able to see the site because of the image overlay. After a minute or if I exit the tab, the symptoms go away.I mainly use google Chrome and Firefox and it's happened on both. I've reinstalled both browsers and it still happens.BTW the ram and CPU is below 50% when I check the task manager.
As I shutdown/restart my laptop, I notice it switches to a secondary desktop that has been running programs.A good example would be trying to open my Task Manager, I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will allow me to open Task Manager - however when I click on Task Manager, it opens on the Desktop running in the background. I can't even access the Desktop in the background, it only shows up as I'm shutting down - closing programs that I tried opening awhile ago.
I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.
When I marked a whole folder or a couple of files in Windows Explorer in Windows XP then the sum/total size of all marked files is (was) shown in the status bar in the bottom of the WinExp window.
so i upgraded my desktop from win7x64 to win8 if i hit the windows key it takes me to metro, which is fine.however if i click on an app, and then it loads, and hit the window key, it doesn't do anything. It doesn't put me back to the metro home screen. I have to alt tab, and then alt tab back, and then my keys start working.Sometiems it happens on the default metro screen too, I can click desktop and it doesn't take me me to the desktop, it just clicks in, but it doesn't do anything. I have to alt tab.
I am running out of space on my system drive (120GB SSD with < 6GB remaining). It happened in only 12 months. I'd like to know where all that space went, which files are using it. So I'm looking for a way to rank files by size regardless of their folder location, largest-to-smallest, ideally without a full scan of the disk if there are internal indexes that have this info.
My C: drive has been displaying a size of around 60 gb with 40 free even though it's a 300 gb drive. I thought the issue would resolve with a clean install, so I did that. Now I have a fresh install and i need to reinstall everything, but the problem isn't fixed. Below are some screen shots of the drive size:Disk Management, showing my C: Drive's full size ^Any suggestions of how I can reclaim this space?? I've tried a few things already to no avail. If you need any more information about my computer to help, let me know. This is pretty annoying, 'cause I want to use that extra space to install Ubuntu.Oh, I just rememberedWhen I look at the drive in Paragon Partition Manager, it shows the full Drive size, but says that the space that is missing from Windows is in use...
About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.
I've changed the setting of maximum processor state on battery from 100% to 50% to save battery. But the setting resets to default 100% time to time. I don't know why this is happening.
Once in a while I find that the time zone moves from GMT to Pacific Time.Has anyone any idea what would cause this, new CMOS battery fitted, which ever time zone shows the time is correct for that zone. Checked the BIOS and that also changes.I dual boot two Win 7 installations.
I have an issue with my P8P67 PRO (Rev 3.1). Mouse but mainly keyboard (both Microsoft) are not detected during the cold boot from time to time, i suspect the BIOS is the one to blame i have the latest version, what can i do?Both are USB.When i turn on the PC from time to time a long beep takes place and a message during posting (no keyboard detected). Sometimes happens sometimes not. PS/2 ports didn't work for me, when im using them NOTHING gets recognized (and yes i turned off the PC before plugging them).
Since upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium I can no longer use any of the HP Printing software that came with the HP 5280 All In One Printer which I had set up with custom paper sizes to print large panorama photo's,eg 420mm x 210mm.I know the printer is capable of printing photo's this size as I have printed many panoramic photo's in this and similar sizes when I was running XP.I have set some custom sizes in Print Server Properties and the settings are being saved there but they do not appear in any paper size lists in Windows or in the HP printer preferences. This is the procedure I'm following.1) Click start menu, then Control Panel, and finally View Devices And Printers.2) Click printer in the list(HP 5280),then click Print Server Properties.3) Click Create New Form, type a custom paper name in the Form Name text box and enter the desired paper size under Paper Size.Click the Save Form button, and the new form is present in the paper list
The frustration has been for more than 2 years now. I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".
I loaded Windows 7 three computers, 2 desktops and 1 laptop. My Dell XPS is the one that keeps flashing a black screen from time to time. It seems like it is thinking for a few seconds but when this happens it is like my monitor turns off.
I've been having this issue for awhile now. When I try to do multiple things at once Windows seems to freeze for minutes at a time.I am running stock settings on all of my hardware so Im confused to what could be happening. [code]
I've installed snow leopard (hackintosh) on a separate partition and since then I've been having trouble with the clock it reads 3 extra hours than the original timeSo I deleted Snow Leopard and formatted the partition and checked the time again and no change at all
