I recently did a system restore on my laptop... HP 625. Windows 7.Then I logged in as normal and I've somehow lost the Personalise option on the desktop drop down menu.I can't even go into pictures and set a background. Also, the Windows 7 theme has completely disappeared and it's changed to a windows classic theme? I had to do the system restore because it wouldn't log in, even though the password was correct. It interrupts with the internet speed and looks plain freaking ugly.
I have two pictures that I use for my desktop background which I set to change every 12 hours; I do this via the Personalization > Desktop Background (Slide Show). As far as I can tell, it changes my background at 1pm and 1am everyday. But what I want to do is to choose the time it changes, e.g., 8pm and 8am. Does anyone know if this is possible?
If I do the original size than it is way too overblown, but when I do fit to size (or whatever you call them) it has two black bars on flanking on the sides, so i want to fix that with tiles. But if I do tiles it shows them at original size which is overblown.
I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.
The frustration has been for more than 2 years now. I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".
My microphone keeps picking up background noises, like me breathing, my mouse and keyboard clicks. I've tried lowering ALL of the microphone "Levels" in recording settings to 0 and plugged my mic into different USB ports and I'm still getting noises, which doesnt make any sense to me.
I'm using Windows Home Premium, the Logitech New Clearchat Comfort headset/mic and the soundcard is listed as USB Audio Device (associated with the headset I'm assuming..)
I tried everything I can think of to change the desk top back ground but it just stays the same- Windows 7- picture. So not sure what to do now or if it is a fix from microsoft that has to be done? I did follow all the right instructions to do the change but with no change. The Theme will change when I click on it but not the back ground. Read tutials and treads and made sure I was doing it right and all settings were right but still no good!! It really isn't that big of a deal but if it's suppose to work why not on my brand new computer and operating system?
Running Windows 7 ultimate on a dell e4300 with 4gb ram and 2.26ghz cpu. While doing nothing the cpu will jump to 100%. chk msconfig and hide ms apps and nothing shows up. try to restart pc and scrn tells me i have a bkground pgm running (no more info) and does a forced restart. after restart ms sec essentials will not start then all of a sudden pc shuts off. restart in safe mode and no probs. restart again and pc running fine for now.
As it turns out WinCDEmu overrides all of Universal Extractor's file associations, with no means of getting around. I've been using it because I like BurnAware free, but the three programs do not coexsiste perfectly. Is there a simple program that burns, creates, and mounts .isos (and can erase RW disks) with minimal features?
This is a resent problem that is happening to my laptop. For the past few weeks every time I change my background picture it goes back to the one i changed it from after I restart my computer. I have had the computer almost a year now and have been able to change the background when ever I have wanted to until a few weeks ago.
Lately my OS seems to have some kind of problem. As i'm surfing with my browser (Chrome), sometimes out of nowhere (or usually when i try to save a picture with right click>save as) the frames of another window that i have open pop-up on the screen.Like it's kinda bringing it forth but not quite. From what i've experienced this happens with my utorrent window or windows of the Windows 7 explorer.I mean not the ie browser. The one you use to explore your system files etc. Here's how it looks like.I have a dark windows background open on my Chrome, so that it's clearly visible.
I've just had to do a factory restore on my laptop to clean it up and now I've reloaded everything I can't seem to change the desktop background. Well, I can set a different picture, but I can't change the settings for stretch, centre etc. I can access them and try but when I click on save nothing happens.
im running win7 ultimate x64 on a dell xps studio. I used a simple application called tweakslogon. url...Everything seems normal and the software is ver simple to use. However, lately i've been noticing that randomly my logon screen changes to some random wallpapers, which by the way i have no idea where they come from. There is no setting on this program to change wallpaper every so often so thats not a possible issue. It just does its job and lets you be. I've even gone into the system32/oobe folder where the background files are and manually deleted these wallpapers and just left my default picture that I chose. Give it a few days and when I boot my computer the background has changed. I go back into the directory and magically theres a picture there that i've never seen before.
I changed my settings somehow when I first purchased my new laptop, which is running Windows 7.I wanted to turn off my desktop background and succeeded. Unfortunately, I can't get any backgrounds to display now. I have tried going into control panel and changing the background there and the icon in "personalization" changes and shows the thumbnail of the image I am trying to set as my background. However, my desktop remains black.
Every time I try to change my desktop background (the original is from google picasa 3) it goes back to the original picture after restarting the computer. I've tried changing it in control panel and what not.
I know how to personalize my pc with different background colors. However, I would like to know how to use an image stored on my pc instead of a background color. I currently have a slideshow running with my favorite pics and the background color frames those pics, but I would like another image for the background instead of a color.
Desktop Background can't be changed. Every time We Pick a New Image, and click apply, it reverts back to the Image we had on there at the Time of the Upgrade.Started with Windows 7 Starter, upgraded to Windows 7 Premium 32-BitAcer Aspire Notebook, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150, Intel Atom 450 1.66GhzFor my G/F and she's a Noob , so we are a 2 Noob Family
I have windows 7 on my computer and I want to make a photo I took as my desktop's background, but I want it to be a smaller size and only in the middle of the screen. Everytime I try to make it my background (even after re-sizing it) it takes up the whole space. It is possible to make it my background but only in the center of the screen and not take up the whole screen?
I had a virus that I got rid of a couple of weeks ago, but it seems there are some "lingering" effects. Today I tried to change the background picture on my desktop and it won't change no matter what I do. Windows 7-64, OS.
I've had this issue for a couple of weeks now and although it appears minor - I have a feeling there could be an underlying issue. It's now impossible for me to set my background image as anything apart from a solid colour. I've tried many different pictures and after saving the changes, nothing in effect is saved or changed. Is this a straight forward fix or am I in need of a virus scan? I do have McAfee however a recent scan had negative results (and yes the scripts were up to date)
By the way, regarding with my problem. I've got this problem after I encountered a BSOD in which I solved thru installing a malwarebytes. But after i restart my computer, I noticed that the default background is almost dark( no images can be seen) and when I tried to set a desktop background using my pictures saved in computer it doesnt works.
I am running Windows 7 premium and cannot get the slideshow to run nor change my desktop background picture. I have tried all the settings on the laptop but nothing works.
