Recently my external download manager stopped working with IE9. This means the IE9 simply ignores it and uses its own download manager. I uses Orbit for a long time, and when it stopped working, I tried a few others, but none of them worked. This started not long ago.
I had Windows Vista installed in my computer. I have changed, formating the disk with the Windows 7 installation disk. Now, when the computer boots, the former Vista boot manager shows up for seconds and the computer boots again but, now, with the Windows 7 boot manager and then all is booting right. Why is this thing happening and how I can to remove this Vista boot manager?
Is it possible to get 2 task managers running concurrently? I just want to see the 'performance tab' and the 'processes tab' side by side while I'm running some computations and doing some important tests.
I must have deleted the info that comes on the Goflex external 500mg hard drive. I used it to watch moves often. I also had it full. After a while i would get an error message asking me to format. So I did an now it can't be recognized on my gateway window 7 computer.
I have just installed a 3TB external drive for backup purposes and was testing the image restore feature. If I use the external drive on the usb 3.0 port when entering F8/System Repair/Repair from image, the drive is not detected at all, when I plug it into the 2.0 port it is detected. Within windows itself the drive operates fine on the 3.0 hub. I am guessing its some kind of USB 3.0 driver issue within system repair but wondered if there is a work around. Not sure I want to sit and wait for a restore over 2.0 when it could be using 3.0!
I have a seagate 2 TB external HDD. It has 1 FAT32 partition. Everything works as expected in Windows Vista/7 and even in Ubuntu. When connecting the external HDD to any XP machine (tested 3 computers with XP), the device will not show up under My Computer. It is visible in Device Manager.Under Disk Management, the drive shows up without any labelling and has improper file system and partitioning. It's as though the partition table is messed up, however, the drive works perfectly on any Vista/Windows 7/Linux pc. [code] Not only is the capacity incorrect, but darn well everything else about the drive shows up incorrect under Disk Management. This happens with all XP PCs. Also, I ran a SFC /SCANNOW with one XP machine in the event the FAT32 drivers or DLLs were corrupted and no resolve.I reinstalled XP on the same machine and the results were identical.
My external was always hooked up to my laptop which is running vista but when I try and view the files on my desktop (running 7) it cannot look into the hard drive and see the files. I was curious if I just bit the bullet and formatted the hard drive on windows seven would it still be compatible with my vista laptop.
So I installed 7 Pro RTM, and plugged in my external sound card and no dice. I wouldn't normally care as I have a working PCI soundcard, except that its a really really high quality DAC, and it cost me a lot of money, so I'd rather not just forget all about it
On XP it uses just generic usbaudio.sys, it works on macs, linux, etc without any issues. What can I try? I attempted to copy across a windows xp version of usbaudio.sys, but that didn't seem to help (I'm not entirely sure I did this correctly).
I have a virus and trying to get my laptop to work in safe mode, to fix it. But my Laptop monitor is broken so I use an external monitor but now I can't get that to work.
I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5979 using a graphics card of Intel (R) graphics. This is a new issue I have had recently. I used to connect an external monitor to my laptop, and it worked fine. The issue is that the laptop still detects the external monitor but the external monitor does not receive a signal when I plug it in the VGA (blue trapezoid connector) have played around with the display options an exhausting amount of times and nothing works there. I tried what worked before (extending the display) and trying to clone it. I thought it might be a driver issue and I reinstalled the driver, but this didn't seem to help either. I have used many monitors when it worked, and also tried different monitors after it stopped working to no avail
My motherboard is ASRock m3a770de. I built my machine 3 days ago. I have one Hiatchi 500gb internal HD, and one 1TB external HD.I am running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition. After building my computer three days ago, I installed windows, and my external was not being detected through eSATA in the BIOS or in Windows "Probably need to install drivers" I said.So I put in the CD that came with my motherboard, and installed the AMD All in One Driver that was on it. Restarted, and hey, my external was showing up.Today, after installing SP1 (not sure if thats what did it), my ext hd was no longer showing up again. I reinstalled the driver on that CD. Now, I'm not sure if it even installed the first time, because it said it was currently uninstalled through the ATI catalyst installation program. But it didn't work this time. I'm not sure what got it to work the first time. But my eSATA drive was being read in IDE mode for three days. When trying to get it work the first time, I did plug it in via USB to see if it would work, maybe that had something to do with it working the first time?
Anyway, I changed my registry to start up in AHCI mode, and then went into my bios and changed my storage config to AHCI. Upon booting, windows would not load with my external HD turned on (anybody know why?), but loaded once I turned it off. Windows then installed AHCI drivers, and upon restarting, both hard drive, external and internal, were being detected as removal storage. Why can't I get my external HD to be read in IDE mode through eSATA? IT doesn't get read through the BIOS or Windows, even if i scan for new hardware.EDIT: sigh, now when I just went to reboot, it wouldn't load windows when my external hard drive was plugged in. Windows loaded when I unplugged it. Windows detected it when I plugged it back in.
I have a Lenovo u400 laptop and im trying to connect my external samsung syncmaster bx2335 to it through an hdmi/dvi adapter. When it first boots up, the monitor works displaying the lenovo logo but when it gets past the windows logo and onto the log in screen, it switches back to the laptop and the monitor wont respond anymore.I have uninstalled the video drivers and that make the monitor work when windows was on, but once i tried to reinstall the drivers the problem came back.
All of my Removable Storage Devices (Flash drives, External HDD) do not work with my Windows 7. When I connect them, I hear the beeps but the device sometimes show up, sometimes not and sometimes they appear after a long interval. On accessing them, Windows tell me that I need to format the drive. Well, I can't do that. It's happening with all of my removable devices, not just one. They work fine with my laptop which is Windows 7 too,
Website to download the drivers? My Vista and Windows 7 systems see it as a WD device, and I can initialise or even format the device after it failed once.I had critical data but don't mind the loss..., just need the drive back up and running.
I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?
I hope this is a simple enough question. My son's computer just fried, and mine is the only one left operational in the house. He must have a Windows system for his school work. I've been using Linux exclusively and have never had Windows on this computer. I went to MS to see if this computer is compatible to load Windows 7 on to it, but their compatibility test will not work download with Linux. I have a home built system. f the following components will run Windows 7 so that I can dual boot them?[CODE]
I've lost my windows live shortcut from my desktop, it also disappeared from my 'all programmes' list. I cant get internet download manager to work on windows 7 It works fine on my old xp. But I've tried 3 times one windows 7. It just will not work. I get sum error message code 0x80040154 when I try to download links. It works on my windows starter netbook just fine but not on normal windows 7 for pc. Also internee download manager I shard to uninstall, so I don't want to install it again unless im sure it will work.
.I didn't wait for the computer to tell me it was ok to remove the drive in the usb port. Now my computer no longer recognizes the external drive After removing my external hard drive (without the ok) my computer no longer recognizes the external hard drive. What do I do.
So this problem started yesterday afternoon. I didn't download anything, but suddenly I was unable to browse the web. I tried all the web browsers I have but no websites would load. But skype and teamspeak still work.
My work programs require XP and supposedly will not function on windows 7 nor the XP mode of same. I need a new computer, most likely a laptop, so I can work while traveling. I can't buy XP anymore. Any suggestions other than a new job?
