I have created a all-in-one install DVD of Windows 7 both US and Dutch. All sources are from MSDN and include SP1 of Windows 7.When I test the DVD of the US version everything is ok.When I test the Dutch version and start the installation of Enterprise it shows a release candidate EULA. When I boot the dutch enterprise ISO it show's the right EULA.

Have reviewed several threads addressing issue. My question: I didn't want to purchase Office to run on Windows 7. Our server runs on XP, so that would be useless to me. Can't I obtain a license for what I purchased?

1. New monitor - no fix
2. Different video card - no fix
3. changed drivers on video card - no fix
4. changed direct x - no fix
5. Reinstalled win 7 - no fix
6. changed frequency and resolution properties multiple times - no fix
the problem is when ever i move my mouse, open a window, open a menu, get a notification, anything graphics wise, i get small to extreme glitches, like as if it froze but kept moving, just no trail, only remnants of old places where the window was, or mouse was. I'm an IT and this is the first time i have seen this happen.Are there any other options to try?Is anyone else having this problem?only solution i have found is xp.
I tried to install 7048 X86 over my X86 7022 installation, all seemed to go well until the pc had to restart after reaching 62% of transferring files, programs and settings.
On restarting, I repeatedly got BSODs, stating a problem with inspect.sys.
Just a heads-up folks, maybe it was the torrent I downloaded (allegedly!)
Well, I have been dual-booting with Ubuntu and Windows 7 recently, they were both in separate partitions. And when i started messing around with Ubuntu A LOT, it would glitch a lot, and i booted into my Windows 7 and deleted the Partition which contained my Ubuntu [U:] But now, on my boot screen - it still shows Ubuntu as a OS to boot into, and if i try to boot into it, it just shows the error screen that i should insert my Windows Installation Dick etc. etc. But i had deleted my Ubuntu. So how can i make it NOT show up on my boot screen anymore?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the explorer window, in the left (navigation) pane, I move the list of folders up to see what I need and when I expand a folder it moves everything down and opens with the folder at the bottom of the window So I can't see what is in it. I have to move the folders up again, expand the one I am looking for and same thing happens. Repeat, same result. This does not happen all of the time however and I do not see a pattern. Is this a glitch in the operating system or perhaps a setting needing adjusted?

While suddenly my comp screen shows weird glitchy lines and the sound freezes, i end up turning off my computer and restarting it, but the glitchy screen still shows and wont startup to login screen. I was able to startup into safe mode (still with the weird glitch on screen) but the restoring and doing startup repair seems to not have fixed the problem.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an unusual glitch which causes everything light on a dark background to trail off to the right of itself. It randomly started while I was playing 'Football Manager' and now I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried all of the usual stuff; (rebooting, rolling back and re-patching video drivers, doing a system restore) and nothing seems to be working.See the image below for an example. I don't think it is ghosting because the trail doesn't follow the movements of the mouse or anything like that, it simply remains to the right of everything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed Windows 7 64-bit, I have been getting a strange visual glitch in the centre of a lot (but not all) of the online flash videos I view.
The glitch is a flashing transparent square that appears to show in between video frames in the centre of the video. You can only see it by its outline but its big enough to cause constant annoyance.
Bizzarely enough the square dissappears if the video is put into fullscreen and doesn't appear all videos, only the majority.
I have the latest flash player installed and the latest catalyst drivers for my Radeon 4980, but the glitch persists in both 32-bit Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Since few month, I got strange sound coming out of the speaker. Since I don't listen too much music, I did not look to resolve the problem The noise is always present, but I could hear glitching when i play with my mouse wheel.When mouse is dragged travel trough some pages, I could hear clicking sound in the back.I did try to turn off every device that interface with the sound, no luck.My PC board is an old Asus P5B with the sound controller?

i have this win 7 system listed above, BUT, i just loaded the win XP mode (shell) virtual PC program yesterday and made it work fine. i even loaded the norton and firefox, just fine. Today i went to use it and the first thing i went to do was change my original dorky password. in the 'change password' window, i typed my old password and then hit 'enter', which i thought would make the password into a 'blank' enter key.
In Word 2010, when I restrict formatting and allow editing only in certain areas of a document, it appears that while a user is in an allowed area they also have access to �change paragraph spacing� under "change styles.� While there, they can go to "custom paragraph spacing" and reformat the entire document, changing the default formatting. This makes no sense to me. Shouldn�t the option to "change paragraph spacing" be restricted as well? Or am I missing something?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy sd cards work fine on my other computers, all of which run windows 7 32 bitbut, over the past few weeks i have had 3 computers, two of which i returned thinking they had defects, but this one does it too when i first insert the sd card, it reads the drive as active, in this case E drive but NOT the sd card inserted into itso what i have to do is right click it, click EJECT, i get a pop up saying it is in use and option to cancel, or continue, i click CONTINUE, take the card back out, reinsert it, and it is fine.

I store all my data files on an external HD so only put the OS and programs onto the usual "C" drive. The Win 7 OS will be pre installed on the SSD and the only other software i would like to "enjoy" the speed of the SSD is a Video editing prog. A still photo editor and a VM prog so that I can install Win XP with a couple of very old small programs. I need other progs like MS Office 2003 but I only use them very occasionally and would prefer to install them onto the second hard drive. Does this look sensible as I am new to SSD's?

I'm using an HP laptop and made a bootable flash key with the Microsoft utility (which I downloaded from Microsoft) to make a Windows 7 installation. I(supposedly) changed the boot order in the bIOS to look first at the key. Didn't work - booted directly into Windows 7 (seemingly bypassed the bootable key)1. I checked the intake, exhaust and cpu fans by stopping them spinning and the noise is still there. It sounds like its coming from my PSU. Does that mean its on its way out? I have a Hiper 530watt PSU which I have had for about 4-5 years now.

I burned it onto a disc using a just a regular burning software that came with my computer(macbook pro), but you can't do that can you? I already have network sharing set-up between my Desktop and my Laptop on my network, but, at the moment, if I want to share something, I have to move it to the Public folder, use it, then delete it from there so that I don't have multiple copies of stuff floating around everywhere. However, I don't want to keep everything on my Window's drive, which means I can't simply move whatever I might be sharing to the Public folder to be used between my Laptop and my Desktop. I'm hoping there's a solution where I can simply share folders that I choose across the network. What I've Tried I've right-clicked on a folder and opened the properties, clicking on the "Sharing" tab. I then went to "Advanced Sharing" and checked off "Share this folder" with the Share name being the folder name, and the path was, by default, set to \ComputerNameFolder. This made it possible for me to see the folder on my Laptop (I shared one from my Desktop, essentially I'm trying to make my Laptop a satellite for my Desktop, which I'll explain at the end) but when I try opening the folder, my Laptop gets the following error message: "\ComputerNameFolder is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this sever to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied". Great. So I go back and click on "Share" in my folder properties, but the only users listed are the ones found on my computer, not over the network. So I click on the "I'm having trouble sharing" link, which brings up the help. The help mentions "Share with" on the right-click shell menu, so I try that and select Homegroup (Read/Write). Now I'm thinking I've finally done it, since I've now specifically specified that this is what I'm trying to do and granted that specific permission. Back on my Laptop I'm looking at \ComputerName and I see the folder there still, I try to open it and, voila, same error message. Now I'm stumped. Why Am I Doing This? I'm doing this mostly because my Desktop is the superior computer. It has better storage, etc... (as it should!) so it's the main computer. My Laptop runs Vista (important to mention!) and I like the fact that some of my programs run independently of the main computer, as it lets me do certain things on various websites simultaneously (nothing fishy mind you), which is great. However, for other things, I would like to just run my Laptop as if it was an extension of my Desktop. For instance, I record videos. I'd like to be able to record them on my Laptop if I so choose, but I want them to be recorded right on my Desktop, since it has the better storage. I also like to write, but I don't want multiple versions of stuff on various computers, though I do want the file on my computer somewhere, as opposed to being stored in the cloud. However, I like the freedom of being able to write wherever I might have my computer on the network, so, once again, I'd like to work directly off of the files from my Desktop. I play a text-based game in which I manage a lot of .txt files with stuff I use for the game, same deal as the writing, I might be playing the game on my Laptop instead of my Desktop and I might need to edit or add to those files, but I don't want to be trying to maintain two different folders of those files. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture of what I'm looking for.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a windows partition set-up like below: 39MB (healthy EISA config) -> 14.65 GB Recovery (D) -> 43 GB (C) -> 1.95GB (no name) ->91.39GB unallocated, The partitions are set-up in that order. When I click on the 1.95 to extend it / add it to the 91.39GB, I get an error: the operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not up to date. I've attempted to update it and restart the computer to no avail. how I can get my 43GB combined with the 1.95GB and 91.39GB partitions located to the right of it?

I tried making my usb stick bootable as I did in the wonderful thread on this forum to install RC1 and it worked a dream, but i'm guessing this isn't the same thing is it .
The original Windows version that the laptop was shipped with was Vista it still has that sticker on it. The guy met us in a parking lot, that should have tipped me off to something, anyway I gave him the money, he gave me the laptop and I thought all was well. He said that he couldn't find the installation disks but would look. The next day when my wife turned on the computer it said that this copy was not legal. To make a long story shorter, the computer works fine other than every time you turn it on it reminds you of the illegal copy. So to make everything legal I purchased a 3 copy family pack of windows home premium. I installed it on my laptop that had Vista but was now wondering if it will let me install on my wife's with the illegal version.

I just got a 32gig USB card and want to make an XP, Vista, and Windows 7 Install disk (or USB)
Now, I actually have the exact same OEM disk of Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I have a sister that seems to think she owns my laptop. I have considered splitting my HDD partition into 2 so that I can have my own installation and part of the drive. The problem is that if I screw something up, my sister will have a cow (it's the only place where she stores her iTunes, etc. and she's stubborn to use anything else, she wouldn't even accept it on backup). Can I also have 2 of the same OEM copies on each partition? If not, I'm Out of luck.
