6. changed frequency and resolution properties multiple times - no fix
the problem is when ever i move my mouse, open a window, open a menu, get a notification, anything graphics wise, i get small to extreme glitches, like as if it froze but kept moving, just no trail, only remnants of old places where the window was, or mouse was. I'm an IT and this is the first time i have seen this happen. Are there any other options to try?Is anyone else having this problem?only solution i have found is xp.
Today, I was browsing the internet, while watching a stream of MLG. While suddenly my comp screen shows weird glitchy lines and the sound freezes, i end up turning off my computer and restarting it, but the glitchy screen still shows and wont startup to login screen. I was able to startup into safe mode (still with the weird glitch on screen) but the restoring and doing startup repair seems to not have fixed the problem.
I made a new account for my brother on my laptop but when we try to log in, it displays a "welcome" text and then after it is done loading it immediately logs out. What's wrong with my computer?
I tried to install 7048 X86 over my X86 7022 installation, all seemed to go well until the pc had to restart after reaching 62% of transferring files, programs and settings.
On restarting, I repeatedly got BSODs, stating a problem with inspect.sys.
Just a heads-up folks, maybe it was the torrent I downloaded (allegedly!)
I have created a all-in-one install DVD of Windows 7 both US and Dutch. All sources are from MSDN and include SP1 of Windows 7.When I test the DVD of the US version everything is ok.When I test the Dutch version and start the installation of Enterprise it shows a release candidate EULA. When I boot the dutch enterprise ISO it show's the right EULA.
Well, I have been dual-booting with Ubuntu and Windows 7 recently, they were both in separate partitions. And when i started messing around with Ubuntu A LOT, it would glitch a lot, and i booted into my Windows 7 and deleted the Partition which contained my Ubuntu [U:] But now, on my boot screen - it still shows Ubuntu as a OS to boot into, and if i try to boot into it, it just shows the error screen that i should insert my Windows Installation Dick etc. etc. But i had deleted my Ubuntu. So how can i make it NOT show up on my boot screen anymore?
In the explorer window, in the left (navigation) pane, I move the list of folders up to see what I need and when I expand a folder it moves everything down and opens with the folder at the bottom of the window So I can't see what is in it. I have to move the folders up again, expand the one I am looking for and same thing happens. Repeat, same result. This does not happen all of the time however and I do not see a pattern. Is this a glitch in the operating system or perhaps a setting needing adjusted?
So I was just messing around looking at photos when I maximized Windows Photo Viewer and got a really weird graphical glitch at the bottom that I've never seen before. All of the buttons are invisible but then reappear once I hover over them.[URL]That second image shows what happens after I have hovered over the buttons. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything else?
I have an unusual glitch which causes everything light on a dark background to trail off to the right of itself. It randomly started while I was playing 'Football Manager' and now I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried all of the usual stuff; (rebooting, rolling back and re-patching video drivers, doing a system restore) and nothing seems to be working.See the image below for an example. I don't think it is ghosting because the trail doesn't follow the movements of the mouse or anything like that, it simply remains to the right of everything.
This happened right when I got my windows 7 PC. I am sharing connection with my brother using a router, a internet box interfering with my phone line and a Prosafe 8 Gigabit smart switch. But when ever my bro loads something i lag and when ever i load something, he lags. But for some reason, when I load online games like A.V.A.and Crossfire, we dont lag each other.
Ever since I installed Windows 7 64-bit, I have been getting a strange visual glitch in the centre of a lot (but not all) of the online flash videos I view.
The glitch is a flashing transparent square that appears to show in between video frames in the centre of the video. You can only see it by its outline but its big enough to cause constant annoyance.
Bizzarely enough the square dissappears if the video is put into fullscreen and doesn't appear all videos, only the majority.
I have the latest flash player installed and the latest catalyst drivers for my Radeon 4980, but the glitch persists in both 32-bit Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Since few month, I got strange sound coming out of the speaker. Since I don't listen too much music, I did not look to resolve the problem The noise is always present, but I could hear glitching when i play with my mouse wheel. When mouse is dragged travel trough some pages, I could hear clicking sound in the back.I did try to turn off every device that interface with the sound, no luck.My PC board is an old Asus P5B with the sound controller?

i have this win 7 system listed above, BUT, i just loaded the win XP mode (shell) virtual PC program yesterday and made it work fine. i even loaded the norton and firefox, just fine. Today i went to use it and the first thing i went to do was change my original dorky password. in the 'change password' window, i typed my old password and then hit 'enter', which i thought would make the password into a 'blank' enter key.
i am running windows 7 ultimate N and well i have a U3 Titanium drive made by san disk. all other usb pen drives work perfectly except for mine, the one with all my work on it. i hav tried uninstalling it but when it tells me it is installed. i am not sure if this is a diver problem or something. i have tried searching google. but i really need a quick solution to this because i hav a major assessment due next week and its on the pen drive.
it is not U3 because i tested my sister's u3 and it works fine, it is not the pen drive because it works on XP and Mac OSX. it is not that my computer cant mount pen drives, because everyone else's works... and i hav attempted al ports, using hubs, KVM's nothing seems to work o.o
the cd drive that is mounted for u3 to start up will mount but the usb wont, cannot access through computer manage> disk management.
In Word 2010, when I restrict formatting and allow editing only in certain areas of a document, it appears that while a user is in an allowed area they also have access to change paragraph spacing under "change styles. While there, they can go to "custom paragraph spacing" and reformat the entire document, changing the default formatting. This makes no sense to me. Shouldnt the option to "change paragraph spacing" be restricted as well? Or am I missing something?
I'm using Windows 7 logged in as an administrator account, but not the main administrator account. I keep getting this weird grey box that's open in my programs list (when I hit Alt+Tab), but not an application on Task Manager. It doesn't show up on my desktop until I use Alt+Tab to switch to it (here is the image I see from that), when it appears on my desktop and doesn't disappear (see this screenshot). It won't let me click on it; refreshing the desktop doesn't get rid of it either. I tried closing a couple processes on Task Manager, but couldn't figure out what it was.
I've had Windows 7 for over a year, but in the past month it has taken me forever to load a webpage. Also, if I had only Winamp running and playing songs, it would stop in the middle of the song, and then resume playing after a while, and then it would do the same after a while, acting weird. Or if I watched a movie, it would freeze all of a sudden, and then resume itself after some time. So, here's what I've done. I bought more RAM, so that I have 8 gb now. I've uninstall some programs I don't use.I regularly remove broken shortcuts, clean registry, defragment it, etc. I've disabled transparency option in control panel, under window color.
my GPU is Nvidia Point Of View GTS 450 2GB DDR3. Yesterday I tried to overclock with MSI Afterburner by increasing the values by 60-70 and than I reverted back to original. Today when I started the PC, everything went fine but when I installed The Sims 3 and started it, the PC froze and there were some mixed colors (more like medium length lines, red, purple, green, blue, pink etc. ) on the upper left and bottom right corner of the screen. Than I restarted and it was fine.. Is there something that I should be worried about. The card is bought last year in June/July and it still has warranty. Also I wanted to ask another question, is it better to buy GTX 460 or GTX 560 or just to upgrade this card to SLI
Basically my friend asked me to install seven on his laptop for him so that it would dual boot his current os and seven. Both are 32 bit so thats ok. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920, and had two partitions on the laptop when I looked at it. The main one was for vista and it was called ACER. The second seemingly has no purpose and he never used it and was called DATA. So I thought that it would be easy enough, just format the DATA partition and install seven on it.
So I started up the win-7 install disc and installed it to the DATA partition after formatting it with the win-7 partitioning tools. This was ok and at the end of installation it wanted to restart and I let it. It then rebooted and completed setup. This should be it done. So I removed the disc and booted like normal, the windows boot manager came up like ususal giving me the choice of what os to boot into, so I booted into vista to check it was all right. It was. So then I decided I would go ahead and set up his user and all for him so I booted into seven. I managed to set it up and it once again (like normal) wanted to restart. So it did...
But now it boots past the bios screen and nothing appears. Even after 10 minutes nothing loads. Only a single underslash i.e. _ flashes. (EDIT: This is the BSOD!) The bootloader doesn't even appear! Just the underslash! I have never encounted this problem before and I am extremely confused as to why this has happened! I tried the install again but the same result came up.
I recently installed Windows 7 Pro x64 on my machine. I upgraded the computer from Vista Business X32, pain in the arse.
I have a wireless network, very stable router. No connection issues.
I have a terabyte mirrored USB network storage on my router.
It sees it, I can access it.
I can copy files from it, and play media from it.
The problem is I can only do one of these at a time.
For example, I began copying 200 gigabytes of files back from the storage onto my computer, then proceeded to try and navigate the drive folders in windows explorer. The copy immediately threw an error, something about a lost connection.
At first I thought maybe my wireless was on the fritz, but my 3 other computers on the home network had no such trouble. The wireless connection on this computer also hasn't had any interuptions.
I then tested, I played a video from the network storage drive, and then when I went back to navigate folders Windows media player threw me an error.
I searched for a while, but all I can find are posts where users cannot see the storage, or don't have access rights.
My problem isn't access rights, it's the ability to multi-task or have multiple concurrent connections to the network, and it's not a network limitation because my Vista, XP, and Mac OS X systems all have been able to do this for years now.
I'm not sure exactly how to describe what is happening. I built this computer myself. (Don't think listing the parts is necessary for this problem/solution)
Basically, I'll be browsing the net, or even just doing homework on word or excel, and the computer will start to act funky. First it will freeze, from 5 - 30 seconds, mouse doesn't move, can't ctrl alt dlt, can't alt f4, nothin. When things snap back out of freeze mode, sometimes the mouse icon gets all funky, like normally if a hyperlink is hovered over it turns into a hand right? well it'll be a I cursor or it might be an old school looking hand that's all 8 bit.
It will freeze again, and usually the 2nd time it wont come undone and I usually reset my computer at this point.
constant sound of someone rowing a boat through water and a slide whistle-kind of like you mght hear in a video game.what could cause this?some type of malware, possibly.?
I have wireless at my new job. It is a "guest" link. I know that I have been given the corrct secutrity key for access; others are using it. However my Toshiba, running windows 7 displays a quick weird screen which includes this sentence: Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and references this information. What do I need to do to stop my system from crashing and connect with my work wireleas like everyone else?
I have a not so old PC.Running Win 7 64bit.Since today my PC starts to stutter and being weird and laggy. So i went to my Task Manager.. and found this.
1st I thought, hmm nothing weird.. Till i saw: Cashed 878 and : Availeble 850 free : 0 Installed memory: 4gigs.
Suddently my PC started to crash today doing a weird nose and i can only restart it from the tower. Also after that my windows take a long time to start. have windows 7 ultimate edition, 4 GB memory, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 processor, Nvidia Graphics card 250 GTS
Some days i will for instance be typing an email in my yahoo email or on a fourm site and typing but nothings showing up until i scroll the page some then it shows up but is ehhh well i guess sticky would be the word and things just act or seem weird, i keep thinking someones hacking me so. What ive done and checked: No Malware i run a registered version of Malware bytes, NIS, CCleaner, tune up utillities and i keep an eye on my network activity as well as sometimes leave my task manager open and watch for any new processes or anything that might be clogging me up. i dont run any toolbars except the NIS one and ive checked everything with hijack this as well and no issues.
Ok using my system as normally, then just few hours ago, some odd things started to happen.
Firstly cannot alt-tab, it just doesn't stay, secondly I can't get the preview of the application on the task bar won't appear correctly. Each time I move the mouse on task bar, the preview flickers as it were.
Now the last things I installed on my system was Firefox RC1 and new nVidia drivers, now removed RC1 of firefox, updated the drivers as I thought it was a graphical error but no luck, anyone else the same issues?
