View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to the HP site to download the latest driver for my printer model, but on this page it says:HP PSC 1200 All-in-One Printer series - HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows 7 - HP Business Support Center "The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product.Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows Update automatically installs the driver for your product."

The problem here is, when I try to add a new printer as:Devices and Printers> Add a Printer> Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. The wizard searches for a few seconds than my LAN automatically gets disconnected. The other way round I've also tried to manually add the printer but it didn't work. It gives the error "Cannot Connect to Printer. Error 0x0000007e" The printer in Network is RICOH Aficio 8001 PCL6.I've tried to contact my IST department but they are saying that we are also unable to connect it with 64-bit operating system.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate. While trying to add a network printer (HP LaserJet 4250n) I got the following error message: Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x0000007e.
The printer works fine from my Windows 7 Pro desktop, and also from other laptops with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I've tried installing Microsoft's hotfix (982728), installing locally on LPT2 and running 'net use LPT2 \Computernamesharedprintername /persistent:yes', updating the driver. None of these worked.
I have two computers I want to connect to a network printer. The printer is a Konica Minolta. When I try to connect it to these computers I get:windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x00000002 Both computers are windows 7 and previously were connected to the printer. I had to reinstall the OS on both machines thus the reason Im reconnecting the printer to them. The computers are attached to our domain. Other computers in the office are able to connect to and use this printer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded all of my computers to Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010 Professional Plus, and they're all running great. Much faster than the previous configuration, Windows XP Professional SP3 w/Office 2003 Standard. I'm using one computer to store all of the file backups and share the printer, a Dell Photo AIO 924. Everything's working fine, except for the printer. The printer prints from the computer its directly connected to, and I have it shared. However, when I try to connect other computers to it, I get an unable to connect to printer error with code 0x06. I checked a couple of things, Print Spooler service is running, network passwords are disabled, and all computers are in the same workgroup. I've gotten this to work before, but that was a while ago when I was running Windows 7 Enterprise trial on the same computer, everything worked great

How do I set up this printer (HP Deskjet 6940) using the xover cable connected to the ethernet port on the laptop?I found this thread, but as the last post indicates, it lacks the details needed to do the job. Installing printer via Ethernet Cable I connected the printer to the laptop with the xover cable, ran through the printer wizard to install the HP6940 drivers as per the Windows 7 printer installation routine, but nothing will print. I tried the MS FixIt routine and still no printing. All I see is an error - printing for this printer when I open up active printers.

THe printer is a C6280 Photosmart, and is wireless enabled, but my new place doesn't have a router to attach to. Basically, I'd just like to connect the printer directly to my computer, since I will be the only one printing to it.
I have a Kodak Hero 3.1 connected to my Motorola Surfboard SBG8560 modem/wireless router. It connects fine and I can find the printer and even print hen my computer is connected to Ethernet but not when I switch over to wifi. This is on a computer running windows 8 rp but I know the os is not to blame because it is not found by my roommates mac on wifi or my other roommates windows xp machine. i figure it must be a router setting that i am missing. When i run arp -a in cmd this is what i get:Code[CODE]

Password protected sharing is enabled on both. I shared a folder on computer 1, and added Everyone to the security tab, with full control.
When i try to map the folder from computer 2, I can see computer 1 listed. But when I click on the + next to it, it asks for a username and password (which I did not expect to be necessary since they are both the same user account and password) and when I enter it it says Logon Unsuccessful.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Epson Photo RX585 Printer which is giving me one hell of a headache since I upgraded from XPpro to windows 7 32bit.I cannot get the Computer to communicate with the printer or is it the printer to accept the computer communication.I have downloaded the latest driver for the printer from epson home site and installed it.The automatic configuration of the driver into the appropriate port is not appening and asks me if I want to install it manualy (with me thats like asking a bus driver to fly a jumbo Jet).I did try getting directions from the internet but got lost and finished up with my printer driver attached to a LTP1 port instead of a printer USB port, needless to say it still wont work.I then decided that I would add USB ports myself Dont ask me how I didit but some how through the device manager I typed in USB001, USB002 and USB003 and the computer seems to have accepted these port as it has not thrown them back at me yet.My next venture into the unknown is to configure the printer with one of these ports to see if it will work. The computer will not configure automatically to any of these ports and I do not have a clue as to how to do it manually. As you can see by the details above anyone after reading this who is brave enough to attempt to give me instructions as to how to get this compuer of mine and printer onto speaking terms again is either mad or deserving a medal.
