I would like to have encrypted IM capabilities with one person. I don't want to download files. I don't want to use servers. I don't want to use any social networks. I simply want an encrypted way of communicating as near as real-time as possible - text only.
I accidentally dragged my file to an encrypted folder, i cannot open the file, i decided to reprogram my computer, i still cant open file, i clicked on properties, under security tab, it has 3 users, Authenticated users, System and my new user name.On general tab, i've click advance button and encrypt attributes has a check, i've click details it appears that my previous user is still there. when i click add it displays no certificate available
I bought a new PC few days ago and tried to using old harddisk and OS with it and failed badly. After some unlucky tries, I bought new harddisk and installed windows 7 in it (my old OS was Windows 7 also). I also plugged old harddisk into new PC so, I have new harddisk and new OS and old hard disk and old OS in my PC. I can access my old files but when I try to copy my documents folder to new harddisk, it gives me an error like "access denied". After some research, I know it's EFS related because files are green (it means, it's encrypted). EFS, I can't access my own files, I tried to change ownership but it didn't worked for me. I also can't change encryption settings because of my old user is gone.
Simply, - I have some files encrypted via EFS in my old hdd, - I have all my user and windows files of my old OS (probably EFS certificate files), - I know my old username and password.
I had had previously Encrypted a whole bunch of my files just in the properties.then i had reinstalled windows and had wiped the the keys (forgot about backing them up)so now I'm trying to access them, pretty much mostly music files, Wavs, n FL format. iv even gone in and changed permissions , but hasn't made a difference.I'm actually a DJ, and these are my music bits n pieces to alot of time and work..:|I was wondering how i can decrypt these files without the keys?
I have installed all the software drivers.I have reinstalled the video drivers too but i get this green color texts which disappears and returns to normal if i refresh or highlight over the text.
I've got a problem with Windows 7 Ultimate RTM and wireless LAN on my Lenovo 3000 N200 Notebook with Intel 3945abg wireless chip.I can't connect to wpa-psk encrypted networks although I installed the newest driver from Intel and tried an older version, too. The network adapter is installed correct in the device manager. If i use no encryption or WEP there is no problem, but i must use WPA-PSK.The network settings on my notebook and on the access point are 100% correct, and it worked fine with Windows Vista and the same hardware.
I encrypted a file using my other computer running Windows 7 and I just transfered it over. I try to open it, (I used TrueCrypt), and only on my laptop does it fail to open the file. I've tried opening it with TrueCrypt over and over but it doesn't register it.
I really need this file open or else I can't use the stuff in it for work.
recently i upgraded my OS from XP to win7. I had few files encrypted which were copied to other partition now i am unable to view it because i dont have any efs certificate. I have many imp files which are encrypted now. Before i could view those files but now i cant.

I have a machine Running Win 7 Enterprise x64, the drive has been encrypted with BitLocker. Recently the machine stopped booting. I have tried normal boot, last known good configuration, safe mode w/ networking, safe mode and none of these will boot, they all get a BSOD.
I have the BitLocker Recovery Key so that part is not an issue. Is there a Bootable CD that has the ability to unlock the drive or does anyone have any other ideas?
A while ago my brother was messing around on his computer and encrypted some of his folders (right click > property > advanced > encrypt). I'm not exactly sure how many or which folders got encrypted. Now every file he downloads is automatically being encrypted, and we're not sure how to revert the settings. Is there a way to stop it from encrypting files automatically again?

I have to send to her my public key and my secret password?I encrypts and signs my message with my private key and my passwordMy password is needed only to encrypted and sign? I have downloaded and used Kakasoft Shared folder protector to limit the access of some of my LAN-shared folders. The problem is that in my pc I had some "marica.exe" malware. Now, when I try to access my encrypted/protected folder I can only see this marica.exe and none of my files/folders. Hard disc appears to have 5GB of data on it, but how to restore them or fix this encrypted thing in order to make it work again? Note that i have not forgotten my password...

i have 2 harddrives 1 for os and the other for storage. i encrypted my entire storage drive because its easier to do then ur os because you needsome kind of card key or usb for the boot drive, but anywho im curious if i unlock the drive so i can access the files does that means its then visable to hackers? or does it need to be locked at all times to remain hidden and encrypted. so my question is if someone hacked into my pc from another computer and i already unlocked my storage drive, would the hackers be able to see all the files on it?
I have been running Windows Vista Home Premium for two years. This was getting very slow so I have just re-formatted my hard drives and have installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
