View 1 RepliesMy computer keeps asking me to install Dolby Audio Driver 72.7000.11 while scans tell me my drivers are up to date.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter getting my Toshiba laptop, I checked the speaker properties. I did this by right clicking the speaker icon on the taskbar and clicking on playback devices. Then on the resulting window, I double clicked on speakers (My default playback device). In the next window, there was an tab called Enhancements where I could select effects like virtual surround soung, bass boost and loudness equalizer. I recently formatted my computer and since I got it back that tab is missing. Instead of the Enhancements tab there is another tab called Dolby. Under this tab there is just 2 options that i can tick; Audio Enhancer and Disable all enhancements. Is there any way I can get back the enhancement tab that I had before because the effects in that tab really helped improve the sound quality of my laptop? Is it something wrong with my drivers? I tried updating my sound card driver but it still did not work.
Here are my specifications of my laptop if that helps:
Toshiba Satellite L655-PSK1JE05R00XAR
Core i5-450M 2.4 GHz
3GB RAM
sound card driver is Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD
If i remove/uninstall 'High Definition Audio Device' Driver in Device Manager will Windows Update find it again?Because im having crackling issues basicly the sound is really choppy and choppy basicly and it makes my ram go to 100%
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy is there no sound for playing dvd movies using windows music player??music concert dvds all play fine, as do CDs, internet sound. only movies have no sound.can't dolby and microsoft get to gether and allow dolby thx dvds to play using media player? downloaded this thing called AC3 filter and it didn''t make anydifference.haven't tried to play movies since I moved awhile back and now it is coming back to me that WMP is totally useless for any movies I have on dvd. View 6 Replies View RelatedI only can get my front 2 speakers to work with Auzentech Prelude.
Previously Auzentech worked successfully on XP with all features working correctly so there is some compatibility issue with Windows 7.
I have followed the Install instructions as posted on the Auzentech website. I will copy and paste this for reference.
1.Install the Driver in the CD first.
2.Reboot PC
3.Download and unzip the R4_patch driver
4.Double-click "setup.exe."
5.Check “Overwrite existing shared Creative audio driver files”
6.Click OK
7.Reboot your PC after completing the installation.
The error message I get when checking the Dolby Digital box is "The Creative Audio Service is not started. Please Reinstall the application".
The 5.1 test sound pattern from the Auzentech volume control does not emit any sound.
The SPDIF properties also has a sound test pattern which displays and plays only 2 channels of sound (Front left and right).
There are no error messages in the Device Manager.
Has anyone here discovered what is preventing the Dolby Digital from working?
I remember a few years back, when I used Windows XP, that driver updating was sort of troublesome -- sometimes you had to completely remove the older version of the driver to install the newer, and so on.
But.. once I installed Vista, I never really had to deal with that. My NVIDIA drivers always updated properly without uninstalling them first.
Now, I hear people still using programs that entirely erase all traces of a previous driver.. why do they still use those? I don't believe you have to use them anymore to update drivers..
If you install, for example, the latest NVIDIA driver -- the installer erases the previous driver from your system, then installs the new driver.
I think people are living in the past when I hear: "I'm uninstalling my current drivers right now, then I'm gonna run a sweeper to erase all traces of it. Then I have to reboot, and install the updated driver. Then reboot again."
I get a message that I cannot install Windows 7 uograge to my HP laptop which is running Vista. I get a messsage that files are missing but no explanation of what files are missing.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhad a virus last year with an underlying update problem. the virus got sorted but i was told the only way to sort the update was to reinstall windows. basically every time the laptop was turned off it was have to reinstall all the updates as they dont seem to save when it shuts off. i left it at the time as it was only 25 or so updates. it is now at over 90 updates and i am missing some security updates. when i try updating manually it comes up with code 80071A91-windows update encountered an unknown error.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe yellow bar with the "update" message pops up on some sites, but not all sites. I hesitate to do updates on things I don't understand, so I'd like to get rid of that annoying popup.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently my audio manager pops up advising that I have diconnected my speakers however, I'll be listening to music or watching tv with no sound loss or interuption. Device manager indicates all drivers are up to date (vers: 6.0.1.6251). What's causing this and how do I correct it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay here's a problem I haven't experienced in any other Windows OS The problem simply is that whenever I receive an instant message via Yahoo, AIM, etc., the alert plays but, my Media Player pauses just for that second it takes for that alert to play & continues to play afterward This happens with both my system speakers & headphones. Is there a way to make it so that my audio doesn't pause?

Windows 7 was working fine but then after one of its automatic updates the sound stopped working on the system.(i.e. Red "X" on speaker icon) I have tried enabling the audio in normal, mode safe mode. The driver is up to date and I have even tried re-installing it.
System restore provided a temporary fix as after one normal use of the PC windows will re-disable the audio. (and yes I disabled auto updates....windows still manages to disable the audio)
I had the PC sent out under Manufactures Warranty to try to resolve the issue, but as the warranty only covers physical damage to the system all the service center was able to do was confirm that it was a software problem (they checked the hardware and found it to be working properly).
So I have determined that the audio is solely software related and that it must be disabled deep in the system as the usual enable/disable buttons have no effect.
my windows 7 just did that D@#m automatic update! Now my media player wont play video. I can hear it but i cant see it. I tried to undo the update and there isnt one listed for media player.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow i can reinstall my main audio drivers so they stay installed and so i don't have to uninstall and reinstall them at every startup. it still says it's in use if i try to test it before reinstalling. to reinstall it i've been going to playback devices, right click properties, click properties on the new window, change settings on the next, last window click the driver tab and uninstall. then i go to device manager and scan for changes. it's really a pita DISREGARD THIS: ok so i've been trying to port audio from firefox to reaper + asio4all and found that i can do it with VAC. i first tried another program called virtual audio streaming but that didn't work. when i got VAC i uninstalled VAS first. since i've had VAC installed i can't listen to anything over my monitor's speakers (have computer hooked to monitor with hdmi). if i have "Digital Audio (hdmi)" set as the default audio device, the audio won't even start. for example if a start a movie in vlc and then realize there's no sound i can't just switch the default device to something else (usually can do this) i have to stop the video select a different device and start the video again. flash stuff online just won't play until i change the device. if i try to go to the properties of "Digital Audio (hdmi)" > advanced > and hit test it tells me the device is being used by another program. this was making me think that maybe it was because VAC was using that device to port the audio from windows or something. didn't really make complete sense but i uninstalled VAC, restarted my pc and it still does the same thing. i tried uninstalling the drivers (windows default drivers, the downloadable drivers IDT high def audio cause problems with other programs so i don't use them and would prefer not to) and restarting so they would reinstall but that did nothing.

1: after turning off my anti virus software and firewall and after restarting my computer i install the chipset drivers for the M4A785TD-V EVO from here url...
2: but i still seem to get the message to install the amd chipset driver? I have the latest drivers for my GPU(HIS 5850) 11.2
Why would it still tell me to install the chipset driver if i already have it? infact when i finish installing it i made sure i have the same version of the chipset driver as the one i just downloaded. Is my motherboard faulty? or am i installing it wrong?

My laptop goes totally black for about 2 -3 seconds, and then completely recovers. A pop-up error message then says:"Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."This has now happened several times, at random, while I'm on my laptop. Doesn't seem to matter what I'm working on at the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout 6 months ago I had several issues with my screen flickering. I thought it was just an old monitor so I replaces it. No problems, however the last 48 hours my screen goes black then sometimes it will come back on and say that my display driver crashed. I've tried looking around but i see no error reports or anything on the driver. I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS. I just uploaded the complete system specs to the website.
