I have a reoccurring message box about 70% of the time I turn on my computer telling me to install the AMD chipset driver.
1: I have the latest chipset, lan, audio drivers for my motherboard (Asus M4A875TD-V EVO)
2: I also have the latest drivers for my GPU (AMD HD5850) 11.2.
Why would I still get this message about 70% of the time when I turn on my PC?
So when my PC boots up i get an error from the GPU telling me i must install the AMD chipset driver.
1: after turning off my anti virus software and firewall and after restarting my computer i install the chipset drivers for the M4A785TD-V EVO from here url...
2: but i still seem to get the message to install the amd chipset driver? I have the latest drivers for my GPU(HIS 5850) 11.2
Why would it still tell me to install the chipset driver if i already have it? infact when i finish installing it i made sure i have the same version of the chipset driver as the one i just downloaded. Is my motherboard faulty? or am i installing it wrong?
so I bought a ton of pc gear, and finally got it all together. But everytime I try to load the Intel driver (tried through their web service and manually), the screen either freezes or just goes to no signal.

Using ASUS P5K-E motherboard which I bought in 2007. and I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
When I run the Chipset Drivers Installation CD into my drive, it shows this (attached JPG)
It should be compatibility problem between the drivers softwares and the OS version...any solution?
I read various posts on different area's regarding chipset installation and drivers.Some info : motherboard is Microstar p45 platinum gamer series.it comes with 2 sets of cd's #1 for win xp intel chipset drivers&utilities disk.#2 chipset disk for vista.question #1 does windows 7 64bit (pro) contain the sata drivers and all the utilities for install ? or do i need to utilize the preinstall of the f6 and make a install floppy? msi has a section for downloads I have searched for the uptodate drivers listed in the arcive section where my board is now listed. am a bit confused as to how i am going to install win 7 on this system .I may go with a xp/7 duel boot .I want to add raid 5 after 7 install and i know xp could not see anything beyond raid 0 or 1.ooking for some advice before i start the process.I hope the thread title is better this time.if the install sequence works the way i want it to go ; perhaps i can create a tuit.

But the 64 bit install failed with message "A required cd/dvd driver is needed...." . Removed everything from the motherboard except one hdd/sata and tried installing from usb image too and the same dreadful cd/dvd driver needed message stops the install.... any clue ?

I have installed Windows 7 64 bit with a P5KC motherboard. I have updated to the latest drivers published by Intel, but when I run any one of the many driver update "check" programs, they all consistently report my drivers are out of date, particularly USB host controller and p35 express chipset PCI root port. Not really familiar with what they all mean.
The only symptom I have is that certain software designed to do its own back ups (eg Quicken) fail to back up to a USB drive. They report the drive is not ready, but I can copy directly to the drive manually. Am i being conned by these check up applications?

I've tried installing nforce4_amd_winvistax64_15.00_english_whql driver on my secondary rig (A8N-SLI), and most everything appears to have installed properly, except the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Just as with my primary rig (A8N32-SLI Deluxe) was before driver installation, it lists 3 of 3 different items, for a total of 9.
After installation on the primary, it consolidates these into just 5 items, with two of them relabled Nvidia nForce Serial ATA Controller. I've tried the installation 3 times with the same results. The two motherboards are so similar, I expected the same results on each. This leaves me wondering if it is a matter of driver version, or just some unchangeable difference in hardware?
i have a radeon 2600 hd pro 512 (agp) and im using a Abit AV8 motherboard which is a VIA motherboard not nforce i have tried all the drivers, nothing works, tried the original ati drivers nope, tried the sapphire drivers nope, why make a card that ain't gonna work on windows 7

the 1.1 microsoft drivers are completly rubbish, cant run anything graphical like a game or that no good.
i bought this PC 2 years ago, i experienced a bluescreen now and then but at this time i didnt really care to look into it, as i didnt know much about PC`s Anyways, since about 2 months i bluescreen almost every second day.99% of the time i bluescreen while playing a game. (Such as TF2).I can tell when i am about to bluescreen, the sound starts to "crackle", with every third crackle i experience a little bit of a short lag (i would even say, its like a really short freezing but only just a milisecond). I ran Memtest and Checkdisk, Harddrive and Memory seem to be fine.My PC is free from malware.I started to read the minidumps out:They always show 2 or 3 different drivers causing the lag.One of them is ALWAYS ntkrnlpa.exe. The other drivers usually differ.Some driver that often shows up too is halmacpi.dll.

i installed all the intel drivers in device manager. and i used Version: 9.1.1.1019. for some reason some updated to Version: 9.1.1.1005 and some updated to Version: 9.1.1.1013 and none went to Version: 9.1.1.1019. any one have any ideas why it did not goto Version: 9.1.1.1019 on atleast some of them.

I have a Gateway DX4720 and was checking out how up to date its drivers are. Using Device Manager I checked out Nvidia (ver. 8.17.125896) and did the automatic internet search, resulting in my driver was up to date. However, I noted on Gateway's site that there was a Nvidia chipset driver (package 15.45) available for download. I am confused, do I need to install it or not?

My Device Manager does not show any drivers as missing but I get a very low graphics score on the Windows Index Experience; it is 2.0.
I think that this may have something to do with the "Media Graphics Accelerator Driver" which will not install ("OS not supported" when using setup). I tried the install for Vista (No.7) from this page:- Download Search Results!
I've read posts here and elsewhere that describe migrating drivers with a driver backup util from Vista and pulling them into Windows 7 via Device Manager but I don't have a Vista installation to be able to do that.
I'd like to have a WIE of 3 or more in order to run Aero but my WIE figures are 3.2/4.6/2.0 (graphics)/3.0/5.9. and I can't see that low base-rate of 2.0 disappearing unless I can install the Graphics Media Accelerator (Intel replied to my query with the standard "not our policy to support future technology etc. etc". (ha ha! nice one Intel)).
How do I find out if the version of the chipset drivers that Windows 7 RTM 64-bit installed automatically is the same as the latest chipset drivers listed on the ASUS website (model M4A78T-E)?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI then got a BSOD and my boot disk (an SSD) disappeared from the BIOS. I thought I was in big trouble. I have another controller so I plugged the SSD into the other one and booted to it and rolled back to the MS driver (just for the SATA controller). I then put everything back together.
Everything seems to work now. Do I need to take any further steps to prevent this from happening again? What happened?
Ive been trying to make sure that all my drivers are up to date, so I've got the program Driver Max to make sure that they are the latest versions. Ok so as I understand it, things like:
'Intel (R) ICH10 Express Root Port 1-5 etc'
'Intel (R) ICH10 SMBus Controller -3A30'
'Intel (R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A16'
And all of those related things are what the chip set driver update's? If I'm wrong please explain how I update those things. If I'm right then why would it say they were out of date when I've gone to the Intel site and used the driver detection feature and it says I'm up to date?

1) download any Drivers Backup software, like DriverMax which is Free
2) boot your Vista or previous Windows 7 which has working Intel drivers and "Export" your video drivers from your Drivers Backup Software, say DriverMax
3) boot to Windows 7.build 7000 and "Import" your drivers in your Drivers Backup Soft, like DriverMax
I was able to get my hard drive today and I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit again. But now there's a problem with one of the drivers.

for a few days now I get repeatedly a BSOD out of nowhere, sometimes when the PC is idling, sometimes in mid-game.I followed usasma's guide to read the minidump and attached the info below. I have several minidumps the refer to different processes. This one mentions chrome.exe, others mention system or other processes.Some background on this one:Two weeks ago my CPU fan broke which I realised when the PC shut down while gaming to prevent CPU overheating. I got a new fan and installed it. The PC seemed unstable, but didn't crash at that time and I thought it was the old windows 7 that ran for 1.5 years and has seen a lot of installing and uninstalling. Namely origin bothered me with a bug which was caused by the origin servers and not on my side as I later learned. Also the PC didn't boot all the time, sometimes it got stuck after loading the BIOS. When disconnecting my SSD with the OS it loaded the BIOS and waited for a boot medium. My guess was that the SSD's partition table got damaged due to the power out when the CPU was too hot, so I wiped the SSD with a tool provided by OCZ and flashed a new firmware. I also updated the Motherboard's firmware. I reinstalled windows on the wiped SSD and could now boot properly. But soon I got the first crashes, without BSODs at first, just a glitchy pattern all over the monitor, the sound being played at the moment holding and then a reboot. I swapped my RAM for an older RAM I had and after that, I got BSOD when the crashes occured. This is the point I am at now. I don't know where to look, if it is a software or a hardware problem. Maybe someone here has some advice on what to do. One time I got a strange glitch which is shown in the video attached to this post. It only happened a single time and has not returned.
