Yesterday I went to click on my photo file which has all my photos from as far back as 2006 and I clicked the mouse button fast and the file was gone. I hope I can recover it. It's all of my family photos. The file is on an external hard drive and not my computer.

since I accepted the update to Microsoft Windows 7 Essentials 2011, the "fix" photo button has disappeared. This used to be essential to tidy up photos that I imported from my camera.I even uninstalled windows essentials and still no joy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed the 'open with' of my .001 file into shell32.dll (I went to system 32 and just typed it in). I did this by right clicking the file, went to properties, then at Open With, clicked Change, then browsed over to Windows32 for shell32.dll by typing it in the file box and clicked enter. Now I regret my actions and want to change it back to its default original (which was: Windows Shell Common DLL). Now the menus and stuff on the files' Properties is totally different. And what's more, the Open with change button and all is gone! How do I put it back to the way it was?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething happened. Many of my icons do not work any more. I thing I have tracked it down to XPS Viewer. I get the following message:
"Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either this photo viewer doesn't support this file format or you don't have the latest update to Photo Viewer."
The problem came out of nowhere but.. I was working with pictures and might have deleted something on the lower task bar. Adobe has disappeared too. Was going to try to update it but it is no longer on my desktop????
I'm having trouble closing out outlook in my new 2010 outlook. What is causing this? I click on the "x" or file exit and it still won't close. I have to shut down, and it will close out.

Have an Intel duo core i7 960 3.20 GHz, and an ASUS P6T MB with 20 (twenty) GB of Crucial RAM.Everything seems to be fine, but I noticed the other day that upon boot, my TM is reporting almost double the RAM usage than it used to when I boot. It's been a while snce I last checked so I dont have a time frame, but it hasn't been, say, several months or anything. It used to be around 740 MB, now it's at 1.32 GB. And I don't understand how that is possible. One of the reasons it is (well, was) low is I have Aero turned off. No major changes have been made; haven't installed or updated anything, and I have made no hw changes. This is what I have done so far,Checked mscongig for any apps launching with Win - nothing there'Also checked the reg (Current vers > run) - nothing there'Checked services.msc, and although there are a bunch of services set to auto (or course),I didn't see anything unusual.A couple of times in the past on this forum, I have been told to do a sfc/scannow from an elevated cmd prompt for other things. Tried that; nothing found'Don't see any services in the TM that look suspicious nor unusualDid a Spybot scan and a Malwarebytes scan (updated first). Spybot found a cookie; that was it.The one thing I did notice is one of my two csrss.exe images is now at 17,000k, whereas it used to be at about 6,000k/ Not sure if that's of any concern. Still doesn't make up for the difference...I don't think.Another thing I don't understand: if I add up all of the memory being used from the processes tab, I get approx 151,000k. Well, that's about .144 GB. So why the descrpency between that and what the performance tab says, which again is 1.32 GB?

View 4 Replies View Relatedrecently I've got an issue with my comp, my mouse left button becomes a right click and right button stays the same, I've searched for some solutions but have found nothing so far. I've reformatted my PC twice and the problem still persist, my mouse is Armaggeddon's Alien G9, I've tried it on another PC and it works fine, even after reformatting my PC the mouse left click would cease to work and would Right Click.I've checked in the Control panel to make sure that the primary keys haven't been switched!
P.S: Recently I've been playing World Of Warcraft, and is wondering if AddOns could be the cause, but this have been never heard of as the problem just appeared recently, but I've been playing for a month already, it appeared like 3 days ago?
I have an odd issue, that from my knowledge has only started recently. That is that my left mouse button lags quite a bit. This is most notable when i drag windows, as it would randomly select another window under the one i was dragging. Recently, it hasnt been clicking properly, i would have to hold the button down for a shot while (only a very shot moment, but it is very annoying and noticable) for it to click. I have an A4 Tech x7 lasermouse that has been working perfectly for years, it is only in the last few days that this problem has been occuring. I have ran virus scans and checked mouse settings in control panel without success.

I have multiple programs that utilize a simultaneous pressing of both left and right mouse buttons (not double-click). This command goes unrecognized in my software and is used extensively to go into 3d rotational manipulation. I also have a mouse that has the central scroll-wheel button that will activate this feature, but the dual button press also goes unrecognized from from the mouse. My old XP computer recognized this input just fine. I have already been through mouse properties and found nothing obvious. I have also checked for updated mouse drivers.

Then when moving the mouse cursor, it should act exactly like I'm actually holding down the scroll bar. Then when I let the right mouse button up, it doesn't scroll any more when moving the mouse cursor. If I'm not clear about what I mean - let me know. I've tried some programs already, but only one could work like this: MouseImp Pro Live! But the sad thing is that this only seems to work in Windows, but not in other programs and such.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere's a lag in windows when I hold and drag the mouse for selection rectangle, but only when I keep CTRL or ALT or SHIFT pressed along with the mouse button, there's a lag even with this simple rectangular marquee in windows, the movement gets frozen every 2-3 seconds. And when I hold and drag for rectangular marquee with mouse button only, there's no lag and it's smooth as it should be.
Same behavior in 3D softwares: lag when using mouse button + ctrl or alt or shift, and NO LAG when using mouse button only CTRL, SHIFT and ALT are the cause! But the problem now is how to fix that? I want to use the alt or shift or ctrl key along with the mouse in my 3D apps, it's so convenient and useful. I disabled tablet input service and it doesn't work.
Yesterday I realized my hosts file went missing. This happened within the last week. UAC is on and my computer is clean so I assume this wasn't caused by malware, but I'd like to know what program did this. Is there any sort of log I can access that will show me that information?
