the time in the taskbar goes back one hour after restart. When readjusting it to the exacttime, the radio button 'apply" is greyed out and does not react when clicked. The adjustedtime remains ok until restart when it goes back one hour again

Windows says all add ons are disabled but in internet options they were in fact ENabled. I disabled each one. "Apply" is still greyed out.I ran the MS "Fix It" tool but no luck. I reset internet explorer but no luck I downloaded IE9 from the links provided but the download could not be completed as the PC I have has a later version....so still no luck I'm afaid! This is very perculiar indeed. This happened on my last pc......which I can still use and I'm trying to see if there is commom which I may have done to both but nothing comes to mind.

A couple of times I have fired it up and the displayed time in the task bar has been wrong. Also have a clock widget on the desktop page which is about 5 hours out. Emails have time stamps which are way out. This sounds like a CMOS battery problem to me, but when I asked a 'Tech guy' from Packard Bell and enquired which battery type I need he assured me that the machine didn't have one! I have reset the clock using the bios - but the widget clock is still wrong.Time zones checked, OK. Must admit, haven't actually checked motherboard yet, but feel sure there MUST be a CMOS battery there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy customer has a small business with 2 x HP Proliant ML110 G6 servers installed ith VMware ESX 4.1.He has 7 Windows 7 64-bit workstations in a domain. He has a Windows 2003, 32-bit Domain Controller and 5 of the machines are in the domain. The other two are in a Workgroup and have DNS and DHCP on Windows 2003 Servers also 32-bit. All of these run as VMware Virtual Servers on the Proliants.The workstations in the Domain are all Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Everything has been working well for almost 3 years. A few weeks ago, they setup an extra server but decided that the VMware Server that the DC was on, was running low on memory, so they Cloned the Windows 2003 DC to the other VMware server. They say that everything was fine until they discovered that the shared printers no longer worked and various other problems.That was when I got involved. When I checked Control Panel --> System --> Advanced System Settings --> Computer Name, it shows the Full Computer name (plus domain), the Domain BUT...
The Network ID is greyed out but the Change Button is OK. If I click the Change Button, Member of Domain shows the domain name, but it's greyed out.I shut down the cloned Domain Controller and started up the original one, but this didn't make any difference.I tried taking one of the workstations out of the domain, but when I tried to put it back, the Domain stayed greyed out, so no way to put it back in. Netdom is also missing from all the workstations.They had a backup of this workstation, so I restored the backup and Voila! the computer was back in the Domain. Unfortunately all the backups of the other Windows 7 Workstations are WAY out of date.

If Auto-Hide is set ON in Taskbar Properties and RESTART is performed, Auto-Hide may work one time but then TASKBAR will not hide again. Frequently, when I open a program then close it, it will often leave a radio button on the screen. The button cannot be removed, moved, or clicked. The only way that I've cleared it was to change screen resolution, then revert back.
I am running Aero settings and themes. I have plenty of memory available and the computer runs fast enough with the bells and whistles running.
I'm guessing it's an issue with the driver and a newer driver may address it, but I guess it could be something else.
Anyone seen this or any ideas?
I have set the Power Options>System Settings - Define power buttons (When I press the power & sleep button) to "Do nothing", yet i can still shut down my desktop via Start>Shutdown and by pressing the physical power button.

One very common thing I would do is start watching a show, and mid way through it decide I want to record it and watch it later. The nice thing was that the recording would contain everything I had watched up to that point plus the remainder of the show. Well... whenever I do the same thing in media center, I notice that the recording starts at the point of where I pressed the record button as opposed to from the start of when I started watching. Is this a limitation of Media Center or is something not set up correctly on my end?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get 15 monitors working on my system. I have a gigabyte GA990fxaud5 motherboard with amd fx 8150, 8 core CPU and 16 gb dual channel Kingston ram. I also have 4x firepro 2450 video cards 3 of x16 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.and 1 of x1 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit I have 2 of the x16 cards installed and its working fine and it takes me to a black screen that says "loading operating system" and then everything else goes smooth and takes me to the windows os. When I run the system with these 2 video cards everything runs perfectly and I can get 8 outputs. The problem is, when I put the third card in the system, the system boots, gets passed the bios (where I can press esc to access bios) but then it takes me to a black screen with no further activity. It's when I place the third card in, is when this black screen occurs without having any message.Maybe the systems confused with this third card. Maybe it's something in windows 7 settings. Or maybe bios.I have installed this exact firepro driver: ATI FireGL?Do I need to have SLI or CrossFire to run multiple video cards? How do i do that for these video cards I have?What are the settings in the BIOS that will enable these 4 video cards.The expansion slots on the mb are compatible with the 4 cards and it does have enough grunt to handle these cards, but it's now getting all 4 cards to operate together on the os.

Now, I went to system advisory and did a system scan on recommended settings, I pressed 'fix selected' and my Wifi was disabled, I tried everything. I can't get my wifi to work without plugging in my modem directly ot my pc. I noticed my wifi radio was disabled, so I pressed the F2 button but nothing worked. I am trying to re enable my wifi radio / wireless radio connection button but it won't work.
My program intel my wifi utility tells me my wifi is disabled but I can't enable it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI found a way to apply images to folders, I have large collection of music/ videos and I know all xp users love the way folder display images but Windows 7 has hard time applying this.
This step has to be applies manually on each folder but works for me.
Steps:
1.Right click on a Folder >> properties (select)
2. Properties windows (displayed) >> Select Customise (last tab)
3. Choose File.. (under Folder pictures) >> select Image(.jpg) (Note: All my images are .jpg Format, dont have be to be called Folder.jpg)
4. Change Icon (under Folder icons) >> Restore Defaults >> Apply >> Ok.

Note: My folder is not customise to specific type, e.g. Music, pictures etc. I have left it as General Items. (OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7100) RC)
