I'm a student on my school laptop and i'm having trouble installing Directx on the laptop. Everytime i try to install it, it says i need administrative rights. Im not looking for a hack or anything to make myself an admin, i was just wondering if there was a way i could install it without needing admin rights, or if there is a zip or rar file that has it pre-installed?.
I recently re-installed windows and am now trying to install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart.
when i try to install DirectX 9 for Company of Heroes it said that i have already installed the latest version of DirectX which is the DirectX 11. Because of that i cant run my games.
I had the same problem yesterday, When I installed the game. My laptop wouldn't even switch on properly yesterday, That is now fixed and I'm still having game issues. I Installed steam then Just Cause, took about 2 hours. It said it was ready to play so I clicked played, A black screen comes up, flashes a few times, the a box comes up.
i have problem on my laptop during i running a game when game start on running page and close and shown display error, There is no attachment order/file otherwise i send you a error ( Fetal error:Couldn, flip DirectX error message Unknown error )
only when playing solitare on a new dell laptop, if I let the game sit for a couple min without playing an error pops up saying "failed to create directx" can anyone help me out here?
I installed a recent (2012) game yesterday on windows 7 64-bit and when it finished it had a checkbox "Install DirectX". I clicked it and it showed progress installing but some of the files had the directx9_ description. That seemed bizarre because windows 7 already have the latest directx 11 version. Opening dxdiag it showed version directx 11. Is there any way i can re-install the latest version or that installer didn't change anything? Should i do a system restore prior to that installation or am i ok and have the latest version of directx? I want to have directx11 support in most of my games.
I am trying to install direct x redist however at the end of the installation, the program terminates with an error which says
A cabinet file required for installation is not to be trusted. Please verify that that the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.
I have no idea how to solve this and any assistance will be appreciated.
i needed to edit a short clip, i already have pinnacle video spin, but i use that for longer videos, not for 20, 30 secs clips, i just wanted to add text to the video.
i remember that i find for an alternative to moviemaker time ago because moviemaker can export in 30fps, but ok i am fine with pinnacle, but for short clips i want to use moviemaker.
The problem is that in the intallation, in the list of stuff that it will install with it, it is Directx 3d 9, i already have directx 11, and i dont want to downgrade. i have read in many forum that it doesn't overwrite it because after installation it can be verified in dxdiag, i don't know what happen, but even when dxdiag says that directx 11 is there, there is a noticeable decrease in video performance AFTER the installation of the software that ask for directx9 what i suspect, that directx WAS installed but for some reason dxdiag still shows directx 11.
i dont know WHY moviemaker can't detect directx 11 and to work with that, it's the same unresolved case of the nero 7 on windows 7, that ask for the directx 9 too. and if not, it can't be installed
I *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. I have Win7 home premium 64bit running on a standard shelf version of an hp box with intel i3 core and intel onboard video... Here is the link I used: [URL]

I work for one of the largest global corporations in the world. They ship brown packages *hint* *hint* and I just got a replacement PC for the one that crashed on me last week. It doesnt have the proper ATI video drivers. So I downloaded the correct driver and went to install it but... "need administrator privilages". In order to get IT to install this I have to call a helpdesk, talk to an idiot whose sole job is to reset peoples passwords, get a ticket made and sent to desktop support, and then wait for desktop support to call my extension a week later.
I have direct x 11 installed in my pc but my game CIV V does not let me play in DX11 which it did before for some reason it only lets me play in DX 9, also other games look like they are controlled by DX9 but my pc says I have DX 11 installed?
like the title says I have a problem with Crysis 2. I installed the high textures and the dx11 pack. As I started the game my screen went black and I saw a blue box on my screen saying: "Frequencies are not supported". I only can window the game and then I can see the game normaly. I can't play the game in full screen when I enabled dx 11.
When I created a new user (with Admin privileges) and log into it, it will not connect to the wi-fi network. It detects the network, but will not connect.
When I try to run the Wi-Fi Configuration utility from the manufacturer its says the the Wi-Fi Adaptor is not found. When I check under the Device Manager while in that user account, the adaptor is shown as working properly.
The Network and Sharing centre shows nothing to indicate the error in either account; the troubleshooting fails to fix the problem when run.
Its all very strange and I have no idea what to do. Any clues would be most welcome.
The card is a new D-Link Wireless G DWA-510 Desktop Adaptor (PCI).
keep getting this admin prompt to enter username and password when i installsomething. the machine is part of a network. and i am logged in as a user. how do i change settings so a user never gets the prompt
I have administrator rights on my Windows 7 account, and I always have problems installing programs. Usually it is with a folder called config.msi. I don't have write permission for that folder and when I install anything I get multiple error messages about it.I have been unable to install the latest Itunes, and I tried to install it manually. Everything went fine, except for the usuall config.msi errors, until the final part of the install. It said it did not have permission to access the itunes folder in program files. I looked at the properties of the folder, and I did not have write permission. The Itunes installer undid the entire install and deleted the itunes folder. When I go to the program files folder, I do not have write access to it, and I cannot change it. I followed the instructions in this forum to enable the administrator account, and could not get write access to that folder from administrator either. The error messages I get look like there is another account out there that is a superuser. Is there any cure for this?
IT setting. Multiple departments with unique network printers but a common image. Creating scripts have been considered, but become impractical for each unique department in the domain. While on the local admin account can I install printers to other accounts on the computer?
When joining a set of laptops to the domain it prompts for domain admin credentials and appears to be successful, but gives an error of 'Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to " " failed. The name will remain domain.local The error was: The RPC Server is unavailable.
When attempting to add Domain Users to the local administrators group: Windows cannot process the object with the name "domain users" because of the following error: The RPC server is unavailable.
This happens even when wired on the network. I have tried uncommenting the localhost line in HOSTS, and manually adding the DNS server (which is also the DC).
