View 1 Replies View RelatedI *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. I have Win7 home premium 64bit running on a standard shelf version of an hp box with intel i3 core and intel onboard video... Here is the link I used: [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed a recent (2012) game yesterday on windows 7 64-bit and when it finished it had a checkbox "Install DirectX". I clicked it and it showed progress installing but some of the files had the directx9_ description. That seemed bizarre because windows 7 already have the latest directx 11 version. Opening dxdiag it showed version directx 11. Is there any way i can re-install the latest version or that installer didn't change anything? Should i do a system restore prior to that installation or am i ok and have the latest version of directx? I want to have directx11 support in most of my games.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install direct x redist however at the end of the installation, the program terminates with an error which says
A cabinet file required for installation is not to be trusted. Please verify that that the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.
I have no idea how to solve this and any assistance will be appreciated.
I'm a student on my school laptop and i'm having trouble installing Directx on the laptop. Everytime i try to install it, it says i need administrative rights. Im not looking for a hack or anything to make myself an admin, i was just wondering if there was a way i could install it without needing admin rights, or if there is a zip or rar file that has it pre-installed?.
View 15 Replies View Relatedi needed to edit a short clip, i already have pinnacle video spin, but i use that for longer videos, not for 20, 30 secs clips, i just wanted to add text to the video.
i remember that i find for an alternative to moviemaker time ago because moviemaker can export in 30fps, but ok i am fine with pinnacle, but for short clips i want to use moviemaker.
The problem is that in the intallation, in the list of stuff that it will install with it, it is Directx 3d 9, i already have directx 11, and i dont want to downgrade. i have read in many forum that it doesn't overwrite it because after installation it can be verified in dxdiag, i don't know what happen, but even when dxdiag says that directx 11 is there, there is a noticeable decrease in video performance AFTER the installation of the software that ask for directx9 what i suspect, that directx WAS installed but for some reason dxdiag still shows directx 11.
i dont know WHY moviemaker can't detect directx 11 and to work with that, it's the same unresolved case of the nero 7 on windows 7, that ask for the directx 9 too. and if not, it can't be installed
cannot install directx shows internal error occured please refer to the dxerrer.log and directx.log

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently re-installed windows and am now trying to install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit which comes with directx 11. My graphics card (AMD Sapphire HD 4850)supports only upto directx 10.1. But my primary question is(assuming finding the link is unsuccessful) "Is it possible to extract just the directx 10 files from the windows vista dvd and install it in windows 7?"

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having bit of a pickle with my directx. First I noticed with one game asking for "d3dx9_42.dll" which I thought to be easily fixed. I downloaded newest redist of directx and tried installing but after a bit in the install the installer returns as "internal error" and it seems to do nothing. Same with the webpatcher. After a bit of forum surfing and use of google I applied the said .dll from redists .cab files directly to windows/system32 folder, restarted and hoped for the best. Didn't work and now I'm at a loss.
I'm still using the RC (iirc build 7100) version of the windows 7, might this be the problem?
