Windows 7 Not Detecting DirectX 11?
Jul 9, 2011I have a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 that supports DirectX 11, but Windows 7 only detects it as DirectX 10?

Jan 30, 2011I *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. I have Win7 home premium 64bit running on a standard shelf version of an hp box with intel i3 core and intel onboard video... Here is the link I used: [URL]

and i have not been able to successfully install DirectX9.0c. over the already installed DirectX 11.
has any one else experienced this problem. with Windows 7 beta 7048. because since i installed Windows 7 on my computer.
i am not at all able to play any DirectX 9.0c or DirectX10 PC Games. each time i attempt to install Directx9.0c during installation it is not able to complete. or even start installing. on the windows 7 beta 7048 could someone help explain what i need to do to get this working.
properly also i have an ATI Radeon HD3650 if that helps any.

Apr 16, 2011I know Windows 7 ships with DX11.I know DX11 is "backwards compatable".lease don't tell me either of these things.I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I have DX11 working and showing in DXDiag.A lot of games require a few files from DX9.The web installer doesn't work.The end-user run time doesn't work.(dx9 or 10) Both crash or error out.The web installer says that the dxwsetup.inf is damaged or missing, when I look for the temp file it doesn't exist.Ive googled everything for about 8-10 hours.I have a 560ti with updated drivers.WHAT IS GOING ON. Jun 14, 2012My brother was trying to restore his friends laptop and during the process the power got disconnected and the C Drive got wiped--I believe. I decided to fix it I would do a fresh install of Windows 7.
Everything was going great and I got the recovery disk to install, but my problem was the Hard drive wasn't showing up as unallocated disk space. The drive did show up, but not as any free space. I tried to do some tutorials in diskpart to fix the drive, but to no avail.
Now, I can't even get windows, or BIOS to detect the drive. The last diskpart command I did was to reformat it. It wasn't the quick reformat, but the one that takes an extremely long time. That's when I noticed it wasn't detecting anymore.

Nov 4, 2009I am running windows 7 ultimate and did not know that win7 have dx11 pre-installed, so i downloaded dxweb setup end user runtimes and instaled it but in the properties of the file it says "directx9"
could it that be a problem for me?
when i run dxdiag everything seems fine it displays that i have directx 11
but when i run windows system specification from the windows experience it displays that i have directx 10..
also, when i refresh windows experience rating it cannot be completed and it displays error in some .dll files when it comes to rate aero and direct3d...
Did i damage .dll files of directx when i installed dxweb setup end-user runtime?
Directx Problem With Windows 7
Feb 6, 2010I'm having bit of a pickle with my directx. First I noticed with one game asking for "d3dx9_42.dll" which I thought to be easily fixed. I downloaded newest redist of directx and tried installing but after a bit in the install the installer returns as "internal error" and it seems to do nothing. Same with the webpatcher. After a bit of forum surfing and use of google I applied the said .dll from redists .cab files directly to windows/system32 folder, restarted and hoped for the best. Didn't work and now I'm at a loss.
I'm still using the RC (iirc build 7100) version of the windows 7, might this be the problem?

Aug 30, 2011I've lost all my usb drivers and windows will not connect or recognize any usb device when I install it. Here's the message I get from device manager:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). I've tried everything possible to correct the situation even reloading the intel chipset from Asus web site. Windows no longer will detect a flash drive or external usb drive.
