I recently built a computer on a Asrock P97 Pro3 and for some reason. I have tried re downloading the audio drivers from the site as well as the disc but nothing seems to change. Windows update has also finished all of its important updates as well. When I view my playback devices "digital display audio" shows up 6 times, and under each of them it says "AMD High Definition Audio Device Not plugged in"
Previously I had Realtek HD Manager installed, but under the direction of another, I uninstalled it, as it wasn't detecting any devices plugged into it.I am still having the same problem, and when I attempt to install Realtek again, it comes with either: Or this, and it will repeatedly come up no matter how many times I allow it, until it eventually just closes itself. This is for any of the drivers available on the website, the first one being RC266 Vistax64, the second one being AC97.Previously, instead of "High Defintion Audio Device", it was shown "Realtek High Definition ect ect."It used to show "Digital Output" being the only one plugged in, and on the HD Audio Manager, nothing else was detected. [code]
I rercently came with the following problem without any reason:I have a realtek audio chipset with my mother board.Since some time, the HD audio drivers keeps on detecting/undetecting a device plugged in my front jack (resulting is sound cutoff, which is more than annoying). But, there is nothing plugged. If I plug something then, the detection works right.I'm wondering if it is a software problem, or if there is something wrong with my motherboard or my front jack connector (some kind of shortcut or whatever).
My brother was trying to restore his friends laptop and during the process the power got disconnected and the C Drive got wiped--I believe. I decided to fix it I would do a fresh install of Windows 7.
Everything was going great and I got the recovery disk to install, but my problem was the Hard drive wasn't showing up as unallocated disk space. The drive did show up, but not as any free space. I tried to do some tutorials in diskpart to fix the drive, but to no avail.
Now, I can't even get windows, or BIOS to detect the drive. The last diskpart command I did was to reformat it. It wasn't the quick reformat, but the one that takes an extremely long time. That's when I noticed it wasn't detecting anymore.
Here's some pics of what I'm seeing:

I've lost all my usb drivers and windows will not connect or recognize any usb device when I install it. Here's the message I get from device manager:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). I've tried everything possible to correct the situation even reloading the intel chipset from Asus web site. Windows no longer will detect a flash drive or external usb drive. I'm at the end of my rope and I don't envy the thoughts of a reinstall. Is there a way to reinstall the usb drivers?Any one can point me in a direction.
I am using a Linksys WRT160nv2, I recently clean installed windows 7 on my Vista desktop. I thought it would be my NIC having problems so I installed a linksys WMP600N. It worked for a while until I updated everything and restarted now it won't work again.
I have Sound Plaster PCIe Xtreme Audio sound card integrated with MSI P6N Diamond motherboard and I installed all of its latest drivers but It seems I can't make Mic work, Windows 7 detects Speakers only which is working just fine but it doesn't detect my Mic, I also changed the FlexiJack Mode to Microphone but still my mic isn't working, I'm using Headphones (Gamecom Headphones which is working just fine without any problem) What should I do to make Mic works?
my zebronics 150 jp gamepad is not detecting on windows 7..Initially it used to work fine . Now I guess there is some virus problem . But I have scanned through anti virus but still unable to locate the problem
My new PC with windows 7 won't detect my old Acer v243w monitor. I was hoping to use dual monitors, with this monitor connected via vga into the motherboard and my other monitor connected by DVI into the graphics card. The graphics card I am using is a Radeon HD6870. It has DVI slots and an HDMI slot but no VGA slot.
Even when the Acer is plugged into the motherboard by itself using VGA it does not get detected then either.
Is it simply a case of getting a lead which will convert my VGA lead from the Acer monitor into a DVI output which I can then plug into the graphics card?
Or perhaps there is a way of enabling VGA support, maybe via the graphics card or something? It seems odd to have a VGA socket in the motherboard if it is not going to work.
Windows 7 Not Detecting PCI Slots after Format - Previous thread about this problem, Bare Foot Kid suggested I made a new thread in here and linked you guys back to it. I'm having major problems with my PC at the moment. It was all working well but it was due for a clean and I had all the files I wanted off the Harddrive so I put in the Windows 7 CD and rebooted the PC. I changed the BIOS so the CD/DVD drive was 1st priority and let it reboot itself. The installation went smooth. I initially had 2 partitions on the Harddrive, I deleted them both and created 2 new partitions and installed Windows onto the smaller one. Everything seemed fine but when I got into Windows I noticed I couldn't set my resolution to the normal dimensions like I always could after a format. I checked Device Manager and under the Display Adapters and Sound Controllers menus there is no sign of my HD4890 and Xtreme Music. I know the HD4890 is working at least because I have the monitor plugged into it and it works but Windows doesn't detect the card at all and is running off the onboard because it's the only choice it has.
I am using a HP laptop with windows 7 (32bit)OS .Recently i installed vmware workstation(windows 2003 server),then the problem started. My Data card is not detecting when i insert it into a USB Drive,it's keep on saying initializing Tata Photon. Now am unable to access internet
I have a Toshiba LED TV that I use as a secondary display. Up until today, it worked fine at 1920x1080. Now for some reason Windows is detecting it as a generic UPNP display and it it only let's me set it up to 1600x900. I have tried installing updates and drivers, but I cannot fix it.

I also flashed my BIOS with the latest BIOS update from the Gigabyte website. I've tried formatting again 3 times which made no difference. I've tried removing both cards from the PC and booting it up, turning it off, replacing the cards and booting it up, but Windows still didn't detect either of them.
I recently had Windows 7 Pro installed onto my 80GB HDD. This was the only HDD plugged in when the installation too place.
Now, when I plug in either of my other internal HDDs, windows will not detect either. I have tried different jumper and IDE cable settings but it will not detect either of the other hard drives.
Also, while im thinking about it, what is the best way to set up in terms of HDDS and IDE cables and jumpers?
I guess windows 7 should be plugged into IDE 1 Primary Does it matter if i used IDE 1 secondary or IDE 2 primary/secdondary for disc drives and other internal hard drives? Should I have my windows HDD jumper set to 'master with slave' and any other HDD(s) set to 'slave'?
I installed Windows 7 a few days ago, and it was working perfectly. Yesterday, my brother borrowed my PSP charger, and so I hooked it up to my computer to charge it. after connecting, it automatically went into USB mode, which I ignored as it'd resulted in no problems on xp/vista.However, after the drivers automatically installed, my keyboard and mouse stopped functioning, and my PSP disconnected from my computer (couldn't read). My keyboard and mouse work fine, and the motherboard can apparently detect them (at least the keyboard, since I can enter BIOS), and another computer can detect them without problems. When Windows 7 loads, though, the lights on both turn off, and neither is responsive (Have also tested this with other functioning mice (mouses?) and keyboards.)
i just built a computer today. and its the famous windows 7 not detecting hard drive but first here is my set up
amd fx 4100 gigabyte 970a-d3 mobo kingston 4 gb ram (1 stick) WD 500gb hard drive
now its the famous install. everything is brand new the new computer can not get any updates its not hooked to the internet, nor do i have a flash drive im on a crappy laptop right now that is surprisingly not fried yet, so i cant do anything updating yet, all i want to do is install windows 7 to my new pc, but it says no driver found, ive even tried putting in the mobo disc like gigabyte said to and still nothing. what can i do? my bios recognizes my cd/dvd rom drive and it also recognizes my hard drive. its all there. but windows 7 wont. is there something in the bios i need to change, i called microsoft and they told me i needed to reformat my hard drive but wouldnt tell me how, gigabyte told me the same thing and the computer store where i bought all my stuff wont touch my computer unless i give them $41 for diagnostics and $41 for install, the guy there is rude and doesnt seem to care about customers who made a HUGE purchase 2 hours before. everybuddy is saying update this update that but i cant the computer has no OS. it has boot screen, bios and windows install.
System: i5 3750k Asrock z77 extreme4 8 gigs ddr3 ripjaw gskill nvidia gtx 260 Antec 650w Windows 7 64 bit Hard drives attempting to use for new install: Western igital X2, Seagate Problem I am having is hard drives I plug into the Asrock z77 are not showing up in Windows 7 install. When I first unpackaged the computer, I attempted to use an old Western Digital hard drive from my previous Q9550/EVGA 780i system. I was unaware that hard drives from another chip set install probably wont boot into windows. So I foolishly I attempted to boot into windows right after I assembled the new i5 computer with a old hard drive from a Q9550 system. Not sure if this might be part of the problem, but I figured I would mention it.The hard drive showed up in BIOS but did not show up "Where do you want to install windows".
Neither did my other hard drives ( another Western Digital & Seagate). However, if I take any of these hard drives and put them back into my old Q9550/EVGA 780i and put in the Windows 7 install CD, they will show up in the box of drives availableIn other words, all hard drives are showing up to install windows 7 on in my old q9550/evga 780i system, but none of the drives are showing up in my new Asrockz77Hard drive showing up in Asrock Z77 bios: When I try to install windows 7 to a hard drive it does not show up Here is the SAME hard drive put back into my old q9550/evga 780i system. It shows up.All hard drives show up in the q9550/evga 780i, none of them show up in the Asrock z77Attempted:Changing sata cables in case ones I were using were faulty. Trying different sata ports Upgraded to latest Board BIOS One stick of RAM at a time Diskpart: tried disk part command, then disk list and it displays "no fixed disk to show" Different storage modes: AHCI I am insuring that only a single HDD and CD are plugged into the sata ports at a time. They are both plugged into Intel sata controller ports, not the Asmedia ones as confirmed by this screen shot and video.
I'm looking for some assistance to the above problem I'm having with my desktop. I am unable to connect to the net through this PC, however, the net connection is working fine as I am currently connected wirelessly via my laptop. The icon on the tool bar has a red cross indicating that I'm not connected, when I click on the icon it tells me no connections are available. When I try to connect to the net via the PC through the control panel, a message pops up saying' Windows did not detect any networking hardware'. When I try and acces the basic information and set up connection page, a msg states 'The dependency service or group failed to start.
Windows will happily output sound to my headset but there is no input from the mic. I have a xonar dg as my soundcard. The headset mic has been tested on a laptop and works The microphone mute button the the headset cable is set correctly The jack is correctly in On plugging in (and fiddling with the jack) the mic I can see noise in CP/Sound window It has been tested on the front panel, the soundcard jack & motherboard jacks Drivers have been wiped and reinstalled System restores had no effect A reinstallation of windows keeping programs & settings had no effect The mic is not muted or set too low in Control Panel / Sound The mic in my webcam works correctly (USB) Connections inside the case are not loose Toggling the front mic option in Cp/Sound/Recording/(the mic)/properties/custom has no effect I also managed to get the mic to work (badly) for a few seconds after windows reinstalled. After I plugged in the headphone jack, the mic went dead and hasn't recovered since. The mic has worked on this PC before, it seems some setting / software / driver is mucking up.

my pc was running fine but suddenly it switched off on its own, as if there was a power failure (it might have been due to a virus cause i just then had downloaded a file that contained a exe file that shut up my anti virus... but i've never heard of a virus killing hardware) on restart after the windows startup screen, a blue screen flashes and restarts again ..startup recovery doesn't work either .. when i try reinstalling windows using the disk . it doesn't detect any hard drive.i've tried to remove all the components of the pc and reconnect them but it still doesn't work.
I recently bought a SSD (Solid State Drive) it is a Samsung 64GB. My computer is an Asus with an i5 Processor.
Anyway I know the SSD works fine because currently I have Ubuntu downloaded on it, running just fine. For some reason however, Windows 7 is not detecting my drive. Under my computer, or upon booting from a disk, it will not detect it. The reason I am wanting to detect it, is because I would like to backup windows 7 onto my SSD and boot from there.
I installed Windows 7 64-bit on my computer which has only 1 hard drive (640GB). I partitioned it using XP to have 4 partitions: 1) XP Partition 2) Linux Partition 3) Linux Swap 4) Windows 7.The problem is Windows 7 cannot detect any partition besides it's own partition, so I cannot access any of my data from the other partitions (XP and ubuntu --- I don't care about ubuntu but I need the data on the XP partition). I know the other partitions exist since I can access XP still, and I believe XP can detect all 4 partitions.I went to start->menu then searched for partition and selected "Create and format hard disk partitions" and it actually detected all the partitions. The problem was the other partitions did not have drive letters associated with them.So I just right clicked and changed the drive letters.
