I am running windows 7 ultimate and did not know that win7 have dx11 pre-installed, so i downloaded dxweb setup end user runtimes and instaled it but in the properties of the file it says "directx9"
could it that be a problem for me?
when i run dxdiag everything seems fine it displays that i have directx 11
but when i run windows system specification from the windows experience it displays that i have directx 10..
also, when i refresh windows experience rating it cannot be completed and it displays error in some .dll files when it comes to rate aero and direct3d...
Did i damage .dll files of directx when i installed dxweb setup end-user runtime?
I *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. I have Win7 home premium 64bit running on a standard shelf version of an hp box with intel i3 core and intel onboard video... Here is the link I used: [URL]

I have direct x 11 installed in my pc but my game CIV V does not let me play in DX11 which it did before for some reason it only lets me play in DX 9, also other games look like they are controlled by DX9 but my pc says I have DX 11 installed?
when i try to install DirectX 9 for Company of Heroes it said that i have already installed the latest version of DirectX which is the DirectX 11. Because of that i cant run my games.
I know Windows 7 ships with DX11.I know DX11 is "backwards compatable".lease don't tell me either of these things.I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I have DX11 working and showing in DXDiag.A lot of games require a few files from DX9.The web installer doesn't work. The end-user run time doesn't work.(dx9 or 10) Both crash or error out.The web installer says that the dxwsetup.inf is damaged or missing, when I look for the temp file it doesn't exist.Ive googled everything for about 8-10 hours.I have a 560ti with updated drivers.WHAT IS GOING ON. I JUST WANT TO INSTALL DX9 TO GET THE MISSING FILES SO I CAN PLAY GAMES ETC.
I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit which comes with directx 11. My graphics card (AMD Sapphire HD 4850)supports only upto directx 10.1. I need directx 10.1 or at least directx 10 but I have not been able to find it anywhere. But my primary question is(assuming finding the link is unsuccessful) "Is it possible to extract just the directx 10 files from the windows vista dvd and install it in windows 7?"
I'm having bit of a pickle with my directx. First I noticed with one game asking for "d3dx9_42.dll" which I thought to be easily fixed. I downloaded newest redist of directx and tried installing but after a bit in the install the installer returns as "internal error" and it seems to do nothing. Same with the webpatcher. After a bit of forum surfing and use of google I applied the said .dll from redists .cab files directly to windows/system32 folder, restarted and hoped for the best. Didn't work and now I'm at a loss.
I'm still using the RC (iirc build 7100) version of the windows 7, might this be the problem?
Which DirectX Runtime version do I need for 64bit Win 7 Pro ?Is this the same as for 32bit Win 7 ?I read somewhere that DirectX 9 + 10 do only support max WinXP but not Windows 7.Is this true? From where can I download the necessary DirectX runtime? How can I find out the current DirectX version on my local system?
i have problem on my laptop during i running a game when game start on running page and close and shown display error, There is no attachment order/file otherwise i send you a error ( Fetal error:Couldn, flip DirectX error message Unknown error )
getting DirectX to function properly on a Windows 7 64bit OS. I have developed a piece of software that utilizes Direct3D. I have tested my program on my computer as well as another Windows 7 64bit machine, and I can see my 3D graphics just fine. However, I tried my program out on a third Windows 7 64bit machine, and my graphics don't display. No errors or exceptions are thrown, but no graphics are displayed. In addition, I've run through dxdiag on the target computer and everything appears to be functioning and enabled. I ran a diagnostic on the graphics card, and everything appears to be working fine there too.
ystem display the error d3d hardware acleration not found ,directx 11 directdraw acceleration not avlibal and agp acceleration not avlibal and direct3d acceleration not avlibal.
Just to give everyone a heads up. A new updater for Direct X is available.
9.27.1734 - 9/11/09
I check for updates once a month. Even on 7. So everyone should update
Even though windows 7 has DX11, you should always update the direct x. Older games still require these updates. I see alot of ATI Cat issues solved after installing these aswell.
When I go to dxdiag, on the display tab, it says direct 3D acceleratoin: Not available. And I need to enable it for a game.Another weird thing that might have something to do wiht the problem: In the device manager, when I open Display adapters section, there is one item called "Standard VGA graphics adapter", and my graphics card is ATI Radeon Mobility 5650, which is not shown there.
