Delete System Error Memory Dump Files
Sep 1, 2012
I have 460 MB of system error memory dump files and 900 MB of temp files when I go to disk cleanup. I tried to delete the memory dump files but they remain. How, and maybe more importantly, SHOULD these be deleted? Will it harm anything?

When doing a disk cleanup I noticed that the items suggested for deletion included Debug Dump Files and System Error Memory Dump Files. Both were exactly the same size (>350MB), which makes me wonder if one is a duplicate of the other. It's a fairly new computer which has only had one BSOD, and I knew about the memory dump and minidump files and where to find them. However, I can't find the Debug Dump File, nor do I know why it needs to be there as well as the memory dump. Also, if there is another BSOD, will the Debug Dump File be overwritten like the memory dump file is, or will I accumulate more of these rather large files?

I have a few questions about disk clean up. First I run it and check off all of the options including dump and debug files which are both listed at 662 mb. When it's done deleting the files I run it again only to find that the debug and dump files are both still at 662 mb. Is there anything I can do to delete them? Is there an easy way to make those thumbnails come back or should I just not delete them?

I had an old P4 system that the PSU went out on, so while I was at the store getting a new PSU, I picked up a copy of Win7 also. Put the PSU and Win7 in and the next day, the Motherboard died. Went and bought a new i-core motherboard, processor, memory and video card and put it together using two drives. The one Sata drive from the old system is a 1T that has the Win7 from the other system on it along with about 75 movies, 500 pictures and 1500 songs. I used a 250 gig SATA to load the Win7 onto the new system. So now the new system is running off the 250gig and all my files are on the 1T drive along with the old Win7 folder. I want to delet the old Win7 folder but it won't let me giving me a message saying I need permission from a trusted installer to remove these files.

Is there anyway I can delete some files and not have them stay on my system? I plan on deleting at least 10gigs of old Music, and don't want them to stay on my Hard Drive like usual. Also, if I use Revo/PC Decrapifier, does that get rid of any pieces of the program that there is, or should I run CCleaner/Registry Cleaner as well.

My wireless mouse and keyboard are not connecting to my laptop, after just an hour before when I was using it they were working fine. I tried re-starting it, but a blue screen popped, saying that it was deleting physical memory for crash dump. My laptop won't even recognize my mouse or keyboard even when I plug in the USB to a different port, what do I do?

I have a problem in booting my computer. It is Windows 7 64 bit laptop, from Dell. I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my computer separately. When I try to boot my computer, it runs into a blue screen. The blue screen disappears very quickly and then the computer will restart again. I guess the last line of the blue screen is something like physical memory dump.
I tried to boot my computer in safe mode, but it stops at CLASSPNS.SYS. I have also tried to use the startup repair, but in vain. I can't do system recovery because it doesn't have a recovery point. I used the Dell diagnosis tool and ran some tests. It seems that the diagnosis tool can't detect my hard drive. But it is a little bit strange to me because I can access files in my Windows 7 using Ubuntu.

So i have had Windows 7 build 7100 on my laptop for a few months, i was at work and wanted to plug a tv to my vga side port. when i plugged it in, my computer got the blue screen then said physical memory dump
i shut off the computer and restarted it Windows does not boot up any more, it will go to where the Windows icons should fly in, but they never do. It will take me to the startup repair, i tried repairing it but it said it could not.
I tried the system restore from an earlier date but that would crash and say it failed.

I have recently updated my hdd with a clean windows 7 install, but had the old one on a secondary hard disk as a back up. I now need to delete these files to save space on my data drive, but am unable to delete the system and windows files as they are owned by TrustedInstaller.
I discovered how to take ownership of these directories, but now the UAC is telling me that I need permission from myself to delete the files which I own!
Is there anyway to get round this without shipping out my data and doing a format, which I don't want to do as I always seem to miss something important..

We have 64 bit Windows 7. I have been installing Visual Studio family 2008, SP1, 2010 and 2010 SP1. At the end of installation, I keep getting mini dump BSODs, and once the computer has rebooted the Visual Studio Installer shows the installation has failed due to a fatal error. I attached the minidump files in a zip folder.

I've followed the instructions. I get almost 5-6 BSOD in a day. The blue screen appears and it shows dumping memory... 10% ... 50% 100% then my PC restarts. Another major problem is that I frequently get "Windows Explorer has stopped working". It fixes itself when I restart. But it's hassle to restart everytime.

Tonight right before bed and about 30 seconds before I was going to hit the shut down command on my laptop (specs below) my computer did a BSOD with a failed physical memory dump and shut down. Now it won't load and the recovery won't attempt any more. Since the BSOD it has a click and single beep. I have a second hard drive in the computer but I can't even access that either. I can enter setup menu and multi boot menu. If I let it sit for 20 minutes to load it brings up a notice saying my windows 7 isn't genuine and loads a factory set up. It is genuine, came from toshiba and I havent had a problem till now.
Spec I know:
Toshiba qosmio x500
Windows 7 professional
Intel I-7
Nvidia video ( not positive on model)
2 hdd
I don't know what's wrong but I need my laptop, Can I recover? Is it a driver issue? Hard ware? What?
