View 9 Replies(windows 7)do i need to keep system error files, memory dump files or debug files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm far from 'computer knowledgeable.'Windows7 Pro.I am NOT having any problems (no Blue Screen, system has 'frozen' twice in > year).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 460 MB of system error memory dump files and 900 MB of temp files when I go to disk cleanup. I tried to delete the memory dump files but they remain. How, and maybe more importantly, SHOULD these be deleted? Will it harm anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen doing a disk cleanup I noticed that the items suggested for deletion included Debug Dump Files and System Error Memory Dump Files. Both were exactly the same size (>350MB), which makes me wonder if one is a duplicate of the other. It's a fairly new computer which has only had one BSOD, and I knew about the memory dump and minidump files and where to find them. However, I can't find the Debug Dump File, nor do I know why it needs to be there as well as the memory dump. Also, if there is another BSOD, will the Debug Dump File be overwritten like the memory dump file is, or will I accumulate more of these rather large files?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting the blue screen error.but it is not significant. happens anytime. sometims pc works 24 hours without error. somtimes it comes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI only have Windows 7 in my pc and without problems but since a few days ago, sometimes appears a BSOD that says:
Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error
Technical Information
***Stop: 0X0000007A (0XC05074E0, 0XC0000056, 0X6915EBE0, 0XA0E9C00)
Physical memory dump failed with status 0XC0000010
I know that the information which the dump file contain will help but i dont know where the dump file is located.
So Ive now been getting random BSODs on my desktop for a month now, and was troubleshooting the problem all this time. Finally, to out rule any corrupt/conflicting drivers I freshly reinstalled windows (which didnt help though).
Since this reinstall, however, no more dump files are created during the BSODs. It just shows:
*** STOP: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA8004F69028, ox00000000BE200000, 0x000000000005110A)
Collecting data for crash dump ... Initializing disk for crash dump ...
And it stays at this, no usual data dumping, even after letting the screen sit for about an hour. It recorded the dump files normally before the re-installation.
I already checked system properties, under the advanced tab, to ensure that the dump file creation was enabled. It is.
Also, does anyone know what could cause this bsod? From the dumpfiles before the reinstallation, i know that Hal.dll is the driver causing the problems. Could it be my OC? ( I doubt it as returning the CPU to factory settings resulted in the same BSODs)
I have a few questions about disk clean up. First I run it and check off all of the options including dump and debug files which are both listed at 662 mb. When it's done deleting the files I run it again only to find that the debug and dump files are both still at 662 mb. Is there anything I can do to delete them? Is there an easy way to make those thumbnails come back or should I just not delete them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThese BSODs dont let Windows finish to create a dump file...as you can see in the pictures, it always hangs in the "Initializing disk for crash dump..." and then reboots. Only one time it finished, and it was something related to Ready Boost (which was never used or allowed to be used in the system, so I am considering this as not related to the problem...I already looked for BSODs related to Ready Boost, and it came in no help). So, since the Windows dont make a dump file, I am afraid the dump files collected from your "tool" are not related to this problem. I also believe that the Bluethoot devices listed as problematic in the diagnostic tools are not related to the problem also, since I almost never use any bluethoot device with my PC.After the system reboots from the BSODs it looks like the BIOS is weird, it usually says that "no operational system was detected", so I have to turn off the PC and then wait some time and turn it on again, and usually this makes the BIOS "see" the Windows again (sometimes I have to unplug the power cable and wait until all the LEDs are off). Just a couple of times the messages were different, like "The CPU could not be overclocked" opening another BIOS screen from American Megatrends.
These BSODs usually started just after I opened Firefox...my Firefox is with a little problem at the first start up...it starts to consume 25% of my CPU and hangs...I have to kill the firefox process and then open it back again to use it (the second time it loads fine)...if I didnt I would have gotten an BSOD in just a few seconds. This happened in a few other programs too, but randomly, first the process hangs, then the entire system and then the BSOD cames. Almost all the BSODs had no usefull data on them as you can see in the pictures. But since Firefox is a memory hog and some times I got KERNEL_IN_PAGE_ERROR and KERNEL_IN_MEMORY_ERROR (I dont have that picture I think), I started to believe that the problem may be in the RAM timings, or some other RAM related problem...Now with these new Ram timings I let firefox consume 25% of my CPU, at the first start of firefox, for minutes, and the system doesn't crash anymore. Also the only 2 times Firefox had set an BSOD it came with a message from Windows before, saying that "Instruction 0x123456 (i dont know the number :P) could not be read" and then it crashed explorer.exe and then the computer crashed. As I said, it's more stable, but still not "stable".
I have been looking all over the place, and I can not find a solution to my problem. I know there has to be a program to check my dump files on my computer but what is it? I run an i7 processor and I tried finding some applications to help me with my random blue screens but, the newest x64 version on the windows websight isn't compatible with my processor (or so it says)

I am running Windows 7 Professional that came installed on the Aspire 3830T TimelineX. I see the network adapter in the device manager. I checked to make sure that the driver is up to date, and it is. But, when I try to enable the driver, the system crashes...Blue Screen and system dump, then comes up and asks how I want to restart the computer.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer laptop brand new and have been having random crashes since day 1. Came with Windows 7 Home Basic.
Specs are:
Core i3 2350M
2GB DD3 Ram
500GB HDD
nVidia 630M 1GB
I have used the SF Diagnostic tool and attached the files, but there are not memory dump files as i have tried several times to enable them but the system never creates them. The crash happens randomly and is not associated with Game or any specific application. I am using Kaspersky Pure as antivirus and i am sure its not causing any problem as i have been using it on other systems and laptops.

I just got a new laptop DELL Inspiron 15R N5110 (i3 processor, 3GB ram, 500 GB hard disk) 2 days back. Suddenly the system started lagging and it hanged last day. When I tried 2 restart, it said there is an error in loading d hard disk. It asked me 2 boot several times. The laptop now have started making clicking noises. Its now even getting heated up also. I ain't able to restart it now. I've my documents saved on d laptop in a separate drive. (I had partitioned d drive as C and D where D is for my personal data). I m very much concerened about the data which is present in d laptop now. Will I be able 2 retrieve it back??? How should I repair it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor about a week I've been experiencing random BSODs, after about 4 months of stable performance. There are no recent hardware or software changes that I'm aware of. The crashes are truly random, sometimes it will go 2 days without a crash, and then the next day I will get 2 or 3 crashes in an hour. It doesn't seem to correlate with a particular program or device attached. For some reason, my System Restore had been turned off so I have no way of restoring to an earlier point prior before the crashes. I do however backup the system regularly with Acronis Backup, and if I can't solve this I'll have to restore to a prior Acronis backup. Here is my OS info (for full system specs click on My System Specs at bottom left of post):
- x64
- the original installed OS on the system? NO.
- Full retail version (Ultimate)
- What is the age of system (hardware)? LESS THAN 6 MONTHS.
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) LESS THAN 6 MONTHS.

View 5 Replies View Relatedbeen awhile since i been here but im back sadly and worried...So ima explain best i can what i did that maybe caused the BSOD. First off my cpu is OC but barely and no voltage changes and has been that way for 3 or so months. By default it runs at 3.8Ghz and i just OC it to 4.0Ghz and its been running that way fine for months and its made to be OC way more so i highly doubt its that. 2nd. I do have dameon tools and i see alot of ppl say that can cause it but again, its been on pc 4 ever and never had no issues with it and it rarely gets used but it still does get used here and there.3rd. I installed some codecs yesterday to try to get sony vegas to read a video and i probably installed 3 different codecs and some were named the same and it was the coded for a h264 or something like that, i already uninstalled that.
4th. No major changes have been made to pc, no recent windows updates, program installs or nothing has been done. Only thing i did most recently yesterday was upgraded a widget for reading GPU and its called GPU meter.5th. Finally and im scared this might be the issue is i noticed on sony vegas ( video editing program ) that it likes to max out all my cores and i noticed the temps reached 90-94 on my cpu which really scared me but ive only used this program twice but i was thinking maybe it was damaging my cpu but not sure. The last thing i was doing when it BSOD was i had a video uploading to facebook and firefox was open and a little dialoge box telling me how far video was done and apparently it got finished and i went to get drink and came back and BSOD was up and the pc didnt auto restart like it did before, had to force shutdown and restart.
I have a brand new Windows 7 64bit build with a clean install from an Upgrade CD and noticed in BIOS that my 1st boot device must be "Windows Boot Manager" or it asks for the CD. I only have 1 storage device (SSD) in the system and when I look under Disk Management in windows, it shows a 100MB "EFI System Partition" in addition to the primary partition (which is labeled "Boot, Crash Dump, and Primary Partition" - so it seems to have the boot files on it).
My components are:
Intel i5 3570K
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H mainboard
16GB Crucial Ballistix
Intel 520 180GB SSD
LG BD optical drive
GTX 560ti
As I only have the one non-optical storage device I did not set any partition parameters at install. I Attempted to do a Startup Repair with the windows disc to maybe try and delete the EFI partition and got the "... System Recovery Options is incompatible with the version you are trying to repair" error. Not sure what that is. If Disk Management shows a healthy partition with "Boot" listed as being contained, why can I not select the SSD as boot device #1? I can boot perfectly fine with the Windows Boot Manager listed as boot device #1 and the SSD as #2, however it's not ideal.
I was using Disk Cleanup in Windows 7 and noticed I had 715MB worth of System queued Windows error reporting files. Is it safe to delete these files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm running a single Windows 7 Ultimate x86 OS on my laptop and it used to work very well till earlier today once I get back home trying to use my computer as usual to find out that it always runs the startup repair after showing the words windows is loading files instead of starting windows normally. Once the diagnostic & repair process is done it tells me that Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. When I view the details I get the following under Root cause found:
Boot configuration is corrupted.
Repair action: Partition table repair.
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490
After many times doing the previous repairs with no result I went to Command Prompt in order to check my system drive to find out that both Windows & Program Files directories are not existed there anymore. Instead, theres a Windows.old directory that contains those 2 system directories as well as Users & PerfLogs directories plus the autoexec.bat & config.sys files. Sure theres noway to use the system restore tool or anything else even using my Windows boot DVD. Still cant use the cmd commands single handedly to fix this.As I said earlier I have never faced such problem before plus I have no idea how to regain my windows since I can never format my system drive as I need to backup all the files, settings, bookmarks & favorites located in my user profile first.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and having the same problem. You can easily resolve the "Hidden File" problem by right clicking on the file, select Properties, and remove the check box next to "Hidden". If you tagged all the photos in a folder, simply select all (ctrl-A) and do the same. It solved the hidden file problem for me without having to show all hidden files. The problem I'm running into that I can't fix is that even after doing this, Carbonite now recognizes these files as system files and refuses to back them up. Even if you try to manually force Carbonite to back them up, it immediately unselects the check box. Hopefully somebody knows of a solution. It's weird, because I was tagging photos just a few weeks ago, and didn't have any problems at all. I don't know if there was an update at some point that screwed this all up.
