Status: 0xc0000411
Info:A fatal error occurred processing the restoration data.
File: hiberfil.sys
Any information that was not saved before the computer went into hibernation will be lost."It does this ever time it goes into hibernation, I disabled it and I have no problems now but I want my computer to hibernate because I leave it on all day long and it will wear components out faster and waste power.I have tried updating all the drivers and hardware drivers from the website for the HD but nothing helped.
Wanted to know if Windows 7 has the same feature as windows XP in the case described in the following link? Windows XP deletes all system restoration points when disk space is running low. Does windows 7 do the same thing?

windows is marking a data drive with a system attribute. Think it is happening in backup. I was hoping that someone would have an idea of what I was doing wrong. Or at least how to turnoff system attribute on the data drive so I could delete volume. I have reinstalled windows 7 (twice) and gotten the same results.
1) primary boot partition is 140 GB on C. Fresh install of Windows 7. I reformatted the install directory. No Windows.OLD directory after installation.
2) create a backup --> all user files and system image to DRIVE E (2TB)
3) after image is created --> Drive I (1 TB drive) is marked with a system attribute. Drive I has not been accessed at all and is clean.
4) Drive I is still empty. At no time was any data ever place on it. Also the partition on it was deleted and reformatted immediately before the reinstall of windows 7.
Future system images want to include DRIVE I
There are no files on DRIVE I -- unless Backup put them there. I have used GPARTED to delete the partition on I and reformat it, but same behavior reoccurs on backup.
I have windows 7N running on a normal motherboard (6 sata ports) no raid running. Motherboard is using standard intel ICHXR SATA RAID controller with most current drivers.
i have 2 hard drives 1 with win 7 beta but strangley i cant boot the final ver of windows 7 so im installing it onto the 2nd drive, and make it my main boot, now if i want to remove the beta boot record will i lose my files on that hdd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.
I usually restore machine to factory setting once a year, for various reasons. Although I keep system fairly clean, it still gets slow. I hate spending time to install all the programs and OS updates. Since XP days, I used to take snapshots so that instead of restoring to factory setting, I can restore to a setting where all programs are installed. So far NONE of the programs I used worked as I wished, I could always find some leftover folders/files. I don't remember all the programs I used over the period of time.
Now I am on Windows 7 Home edition 64-bit. I have tried its in-built backup but it just did not work. It failed to recognize the back up. I tried system restore point but its rather pathetic, the system restore points just vanish. I think it keeps last 10 or some restore points. I have not tried any other programs on Windows 7 but Macrium Relfect free edition and Paragon backup and recovery 2012, free edition is under consideration to take a system snapshot.
When I lost my internet connection I tried to uninstall my wireless program to re-install it. The windows installer wouldn't uninstall so I loaded files from the computers internal restoration disk to repair some old files. Now my computers not working at all. It won't boot up to install the restoration files. It might tell pop in a restoration disk and then say it can't boot up from a dvd drive. How do I boot up my computer and install the new system?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with the partition editor in Fedora 14 and accidentally changed the file type on the boot partition. When I go through the startup repair and do the command prompt method, when I enter bcdedit I get the message "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The system cannot find the file specified"When I do bootrec.exe /fixboot it give me this. "The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded an that the volume is not corrupted" /fixmbr says that it completes successfully btw.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've been using my 64GB ssd as my windows 7 boot drive and i have a 1TB hdd as my data drive. Recently the my computer has begun to freeze up with errors like "explorer.exe" has stopped responding or "windows" has stopped responding and half of the time when i try to boot it says it cant find windows. This has lead me to believe that my ssd is dying despite being only a year old. I need to RMA my ssd but to do that i would be losing my boot drive for weeks. So I thought id try to create a system image so that i can simply put my boot drive on my hdd, but when i try to create the image it says that the image would be 711GB because its including all of my hdd (which contains all my user libraries and downloads). My question is: how do I make windows stop thinking that my hdd is a system drive so that I can create a reasonably sized image, or more generally: how can i easily move my boot drive to my hdd? Also, I've read some posts about using "easyBCD" to accomplish the latter but I'm not sure that's exactly what i need in this situation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Packard-Bell iMedia D2525uk running 64 bit Win7 comes as standard with 2 partitions, the C and the Data D. However, by default all stuff created is saved in a series of Libraries which is on the C partition.Over the year or so I've owned the machine I've saved nearly all my stuff on the Data D partition, for obvious safety reasons! but noted that it seemed to be duplicated in the Libraries series of folders. In an attempt to prune the mass of duplicate folders I started backing them up and then deleting. However, I made a mistake and, being presented with a dialogue box giving me a choice whether to permanently delete a folder too big to go in the recycle bin, I did so. The folder was on the Data D partition so I thought it wouldn't affect the duplicate one in the Libraries series, but it did and now I've lost all my documents.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my Outlook 2010 ANSI .pst file to an Unicode format by creating a new .pst and importing data from the old .pst. I want to delete the old .pst, but I get the error message "You cannot delete this Outlook data file. Configuration information in the file is being copied to your new default data file. You can delete the file after this information is copied."I don't think information is being copied, as I've waited to see if it would resolve, but I do think that there is still some connection to the old .pst file that is preventing deletion. I have changed the folder of my email accounts' storage location to the new Unicode .pst. What else do I need to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy SONY VAIO VPCEB15FX laptop has been getting the S.M.A.R.T failures. I checked with SONY and since my laptop is more than 12 months old - could not get them to help me with this issue without paying (laptop started having issues exactly after 15 months- not so good for a branded laptop). So i thought i will try to handle this myself, created the recovery discs, repair disk and backed up all the data in 15 DVDs. I bought a WD Scorpio Blue hard drive (WD5000BPVT - Advanced Format Drive) and replaced the same in my laptop and started off with the recovery discs. I chose to restore complete system and it proceeded. Once it completed the process - the system restarted and the OS Setup began - now comes the issue. When the setup started it throws this error "Windows setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's Hardware" I ordered the SONY recovery discs - repeated the above RESTORE process - but still facing the same error?

Will the notebook handle the external drive properly?
Not sure whats going on at first I thought maybe had some malware hidden so a ran an eset scan AND a malwarebytes scan, neither found anything. Usually it would take about 20 seconds or so from the time I turn it on to the log in screen. Now sometimes I'll turn it on and it will stay at the loading windows screen sometimes a couple minutes to 5 mins then make its way to the log in screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had some problems with my computer and I ended up restoring the computer to its original factory settings. I chose the option of restoring it while keeping user files and what not. Anyways everything was going well up to this point. The screen has been stuck on "Setup is starting up services" (with that loading bar underneath the text) all night.
I'm pretty sure I did everything right. I unplugged everything, except the keyboard, monitor, and the mouse. I did not insert the Windows 7 recovery disc, but I was under the impression that I didn't need them for what I was doing. Do I just manually shut the computer down? Is there something on the keyboard that should abort the process? My computer is a Gateway and I'm using Windows 7.
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and saw that the users private and public data are still saved in the C:Users of the system partition.
So, I'm looking for a specific guide for Windows 7 that separates the system partition from the users private and public data, saved in another partition on the same disk. In addition, private data created during the creation of new accounts (including the Administrator account) must be saved directly in the other partition.
In other words, in the C:Users directory, the All Users, Default and Default User directories must only remain and its must to be fully functional.
i can not access my the data on my system, because it's asking me system or administrator password that i did not know.

So its not the total drive size and defintley not the data I need to rescue. How would I see the whole drive and access the data?
