View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently when I booted up my desktop, I get the error from Catalyst Control Center"No AMD driver found or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the appropriate driver for your hardware." (Not the actual text, it's what I remember)(Hence I'm stuck with the generic driver without support for widescreen resolutions)I went to Device Manager and selected my "ATI Radeon 4800 Series", then clicked 'Update Driver', but I get the following error:'Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install itData error (cyclic redundancy check)'.I don't think it's the driver file's problem as I downloaded it fresh?I have no idea what's causing the error.. I don't think it's the video card's problem as it still shows up in my Device Manager, and I've tried System Restore, but I get the error that 'Windows is unable to replace C:Windows with the backup copy' or something similar.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlright so I've had my computer for right over a year. Never experienced any problems. However, yesterday my toddler got ahold of my laptop for 15 minutes, i came back and he had locked the desktop and several files were opened when i typed my password and got back in. The computer was running slow so I restarted, when I restarted it would not load. When i got home i decided to reformat the whole thing. The reformat went fine until it was over and the computer restarted. It kept going in a loop. I could see there was a blue screen but before i could read it, it would dismiss it and restart all over. So i disabled the computer from crashing and restarting after the error so I could read the blue screen. The blue screen read Unmountable boot Volume. I found my system repair disk and inserted it. The Bios is showing the HD, but when i try to access it from my command prompt in my startup repair, it says Cyclic redundancy check. I do not have the windows 7 installation disk and have always reformatted from the system repair. I'm starting to believe my HD is fried, but I found it a little difficult to believe since he was only alone with it for 15 minutes and the computer has never shown any signs of HD failure ever

View 2 Replies View Relatedi recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card
3gb of system memory
when i click format a 150 gb partition space in disk management option i recieved the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer". and the drive does not appear like other drives in MY Computer?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2007 and one day I get the error "Outlook could not create the work file check the temp environment". The error itself was of no help but after searching and searching I found supposed "fixes". I have tried a number of them but then I shut down the computer for the day and the next day the error is back.I will email you a beer or something.I have tried:Deleting all files in the temporary folders since one "fix" noted a full folderChecking the HKEY in regedit.exe and all was well with %userprofile%local settingemporary internet files so the suggestion was to change to "temp" instead of temporary internet files.I went into Internet Explorer tools and moved the folder per another "fix"I went to regedit and changed CACHE value to c:wi

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get a Toshiba satellite L300D to start Win-7. It gives an error message:
"An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data"
Not really sure what that means, but my guess is thats a file that it isn't finding. My pic isn't very clear, the Status is 0xc000000f, again not sure what that means. This machine has been running and well behaved for a long time.
I have been trying to back up all my important data onto an external hdd. The external hdd i am using is a WD 2tb. I am currently running Win 7 x64 with 2 x hdd wd 2tb set-up in raid 1 for hdd failure. I would like the external one as a backup weekly in case of file corruption. However when i go into setup, i get the following msg "The request is not supported" Error 0x80070032. I have read through a few threads on this forum with regards to task scheduler and event log they all seem to be set as required. There is also suggestion that win 7 may not be able to handle large hdd sector size, something about 4k versus 512.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy laptop has been crashing frequently since months ago. sometimes i get bluescreen (kernel data inpage error), sometimes it reboots automatically, and sometimes it freezes and the screen is filled with some grey/black weird horizontal lines and i have to reboot it. i had reinstalled the windows a few times but the prob remains.when i run in safe mode everything is fine.also, everything is ok when i use battery, no reboot, bluescreen, etc...but the prob comes back once i plug in...seems like the prob only occurs when i use the power?
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy system has been running absolutely fine for the past year without issues until about 3 weeks ago. For the first time, I got a stop error about kernel data inpage error. it however could not save the dump for some reason.
my system is configured as SSD is the main boot drive for Windows and everything else (program files etc...) is redirected to the E: drive which is my RAID0. I then had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. And now I have just seen it happen properly:
Kernel data inpage error
0x0000007A
NTFS.sys
is what are the key information I can see. what does this mean? how can I identify what is exactly the problem? this is such a critical system, i cannot emphasis enough
Your HDD has the SMART Predict Failure function which monitors the HDD operating status. Your HDD is experiencing a problem and SMART monitoring software predicts that the HDD will fail. Toshiba strongly recommends you create a back-up for your HDD data. Then contact an authorized service provider in order to check your drive and purchase a new replacement drive if necessary.
Is the error that I am receiving on my PC and it is a Toshiba P505 S8980 and it requires me to press F! at start up to use the pc cause it says the PC has Identified an error with the HDD (Hard Drive) and the SMART system suggest to partner with my manufature to fix the issue. I have ran several test with a tune up tool and it says that my P.C. is operating correctly and it is running just fine but the error will not go away and I am starting to worry that the Hard Drive is failing because of this message.
It is still under warranty and I have contact Toshiba and they want me to send it back to fix the issue but I don't want to have to start all over again by reinstalling all my programs etc... I have them all back up on an external hard drive but it is difficult to reload everything. If I have to do it I will but my computer will not let me reset to factory settings either and I am lost on this one.
