View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a new desktop PC. It works fine, but on each startup it gives me the line "Verifying DMI Pool Data". It seems to be part of the normal booting process, but my other PC never does that, and when I researched it on the web I read that it might be a serious error.
The specs of the new PC are these:
Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07GHz
6GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
now when I switch on the pc, after the white screen and before the boot appear a black screen that say verifying dmi pool data and it stop to this.
For the first time I change the boot priority and boot from the another hard disk and it start. But now when I Boot from any hard disk the message is always the same...
I can boot without any problem from dvd drive or another device. Any solution?
I pressed something at the start of login once, something like y/n sata to dmos or something im not really sure but i pressed yes and now im getting verifying dmi pool data, update new data to dmi! aswell as a super quick blue screen flash and nothing working,

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running Outlook 2010 with about 5 separate POP 3 accounts. I archive regularly and compact after archiving. After a lot of trouble cloning a new C drive to an SSD, Outlook, along with a lot of other software, began acting strangely. Everything has pretty much been resolved except for the Outlook problem.
For no reason I can isolate, Outlook will suddenly close, giving the message that it had to close and it will now try to retrieve my data. It does so, unless I was in the middle of composing an email - that will be gone! Sometimes, instead of closing, it freezes and says application not responding.
I checked the disk for errors using scan now and it's fine. I've run memtest and it's fine. I've run in safe mode and it just shut down with no comments. In working my way through suggestions on this board, I just ran Sysinternals Process Explorer until the error occurred and went back to normal. In looking at Process Explorer, I'm afraid the actual data is overwhelming to me. However, I'll attach everything I have.
Event Viewer shows Error 1000. General:

Have a toshiba satellite laptop. Whenever I go to certain websites sometimes, I get the 'Bad Pool Caller' error; however when I go to those same websites at other times, the error does not happen. Also this error does not happen with all websites, only a few. What is this error and why does it happen when it does.

The error codes are different sometimes but only one I could catch = "Bad Pool Error". I have added no new hardware. Have tried all I could find for a solution without results. i have downloaded from my university Windows 7 x64 version (the free copy for students build 7600) but i have also tryed 2 other versions (rc i think, both 64 and 32) with no success.
first of all, the starting installation page is very slow, after 4-5 minuts on "setup is starting" (advance mode, not upgrade), and at the second step (expanding windows files 0%)
installation crashes with blue screen:
first time i get: bad pool header error
second time i m on another blue screen: "a device driver attemptingto corrupt the system has been caught. the faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced.."
now i will try the 3rd time to install in "safe mode" and i post new info here.
if u need something more to know for helping me ill provide them as fast as possible.
I have got Lenovo G550 laptop with windows 7 installed in it, and i have BSNL Datacard 3G (3.6 Mbps). When I connect my data card to my laptop the audio driver stops working whereas in case I connect any other usb device the driver doesnt stop working.

My anti virus (Avira 2012 Internet Suite) pops up and states I have 2 viruses. But before the AV can do anything (delete the files) Windows shuts down....I finally got into Safe Mode and tried running my AV, while it was scanning I then got a BSOD. Had to start all over again; Running MalwareBytes now before trying to do the AV scan, just to see if MalwareBytes catches anything.
I have uninstalled the only application I've installed in 3 months, and problem still persists... I have a Hijackthis log if it needs to be viewed...Just let me know and I'll upload it.
i have a MSI A6000 Laptop. Ive been trying to fix this problem for 2 day with 12 hours time and read countless forums but still haven't been able to solve it.
I recently encountered windows 7x64 installation error, where i could not select disk partition to install. ( i formatted and deleted all of the partitions for a clean install). But somehow after running the memory diagnosis i was able to go through the installation. But during the installation on the second time it restarts, my computer gets a black screen when starting.
i cannot access the post screen menu or the recovery option( it is however possible to access the same thing via booting through the USB and selecting the recovery option instead of installing). Also the memory diagnosis tool does not work any more giving an error. The bios options are as follows:

I have a problem with downloading a file above roughly 80MB it just stops I tried chrome,firefox and opera and nothing works. On Firefox and Chrome the download just stops on Opera the speed changes to unknown and it stops downloading.I don't have a wireless connection I use modem and my net connection should be okay since on my old comp with same net it worked without problem.

I am currently running Win 7 x64 with 2 x hdd wd 2tb set-up in raid 1 for hdd failure. I would like the external one as a backup weekly in case of file corruption. However when i go into setup, i get the following msg "The request is not supported" Error 0x80070032. I have read through a few threads on this forum with regards to task scheduler and event log they all seem to be set as required. There is also suggestion that win 7 may not be able to handle large hdd sector size, something about 4k versus 512.

This issue continue occuring even after I tried several repairs of the OS. The strange thing is that only happen if remove the original disk from the DVD reader. If I leave the cd, the error does not occurred and the windows reboot normally.
I have been a Mac user for 5 years and I just built my first PC yesterday so I don't know much. Is this a hardware of software issue? I'll provide any more details if requested.

Does not happen often, happened about 3 times a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was gone. Just today it happened two times in a row. View 8 Replies View RelatedLast night my computer froze and gave me a BSOD, and when I tried to simply restart it, it would get to the windows splash screen and BSOD again. Then after trying a few things to fix it, its giving me the 'Reboot and select proper boot device etc'. Ive checked command prompt and it is showing my HDD as the 100 meg system partition that Windows 7 makes when installing, but I cannot access the rest of the drive.
Took the HDD out and to a mates place so I could get anything i needed off it before I just wiped the drive completely, and his computer did the same thing after a few minutes.
From that I assume it was a virus of some sort, and for me I can lose what I have on the HDD without caring too much, however he has things not backed up on his HDD that he really needs to recover.
Has anyone had this problem and been able to recover the data somehow?
I have a Inspiron One 2205 , since July 2011, as soon as my software warrant expired , I began having this error messages , Dell is asking for $234 to renew the software support contract , but I rarely used the one I had before ... so I'm looking for other Avenue. Even if I clicked F8 when the window logo appears , it's still goes to that error message. I can't even go to the safe mode. Only buttons that work is F2 and F12 , otherwise , it just give me the error message " Reboot and select proper boot device or insert Boot Media in selected boot deivce and press a key"

I threw in some more RAM after which this error message began appearing, though I doubt this is the source of the problem. For some reason, the computer just cannot see or boot from the drive anymore. The BIOS sees it perfectly fine. I've ran through all the settings like the boot priority such.
