Laptop2 : Windows 7 Ultimate
Laptop1 can view and access the libraries on the Desktop. Laptop2 can see the libraries on the Desktop but can not access the folders. I'm not sure what to do here, I've triple checked that libraries are shared on the Home Group.

Mar 6, 2012I am having an issue with a current update for Windows-7, my desktop became a default and i cannot load my old one. i found a solution that tells me i need to go to windowssystem32configsystemprofiledesktop and delete the default desktop and restart pc which should put everything back to normal.The problem is, is that my UAC administrator is shut down, i've tryed many ways to turn it off, but nothing allows me to, because anything that has anything to do with Administrator privilege it will only deny and block my actions, it is not a virus. on this website i found that solution, but how do i bypass Administrator privilege?Anything like a computer restore, anything that asks the administrator privilege Alot of things say : The Dependency Service or group failed to start when i click on System Restore.

Jan 20, 2013For some unknown reason i have come to my computer and whenever i click on the C: My computer or any icon on my desktop or try and edit any file (delete etc) i get the pop up message C: is not accessible access is denied Location is not available.I thought this might have something to do with user accounts however I am the only user and administrator of the laptop and have all wrights, box's ticked.

Mar 6, 2012I have a notebook an Acer travelmate TM8372TG-5454G50Mnbb. Windows 7 only. When I try and access the C drive, it says " c: is not accessible Access is denied." When I try and open some other things like CCleaner and MalwareBytes, it says "Windows cannot access C:program files......Check the spelling or there might be a problem with your network....." I have managed to run MalwareBytes (nothing found) & Windows Reg Repair from a USB in safe mode, it didn't work.
I have also run a full scan with Avast (Now Avast doesnt work and is always in unprotected mode). I also noticed in safe mode there is a "repair your computer" option, I tried that and no success either. I have been able to system restore in safe mode but that didn't work either. (I couldn't restore in normal admin mode, it wouldn't let me). I can access the internet ok but cant seem to open anything that needs to run, picture and movie folders are all accessible (but not via the c: drive).

Aug 10, 2012I have an LG N2A2 NAS box with a wired connection into my router. I then have two laptops that are generally connected to the router wirelessly but sometimes via cable, if I am transferring a large amount of data. The main laptop is running Win 7 Pro (64 bit) and the other one is running Vista Business. Until a couple of weeks ago the NAS would show up under computers in Windows Explorer on the Win 7 laptop, and the shared folders could be accessed. At that point I connected the other laptop via cable to the router.
Since then NAS has not been showing under computers in WE on the Win 7 laptop and I haven't been able to access the shared folders. The NAS is still showing as a media device and I can log in via IE - but I cannot get at the files directly or back up to a NAS folder. I have tried entering the device name and IP address in WE but I get the error message "Windows cannot access XYZ...". I ran the troubleshooter but it didn't work. The NAS came with a NAS detector utility and sure enough this detects the NAS but when I click "Open Network Folder" nothing happens. I have tried changing the IP of the NAS but this does not make any difference.

Oct 2, 2012cannot access external HDDs connected via USB. The Device Manager shows a device. Under "Properties, Volume, polulate" it shows a zero capacity however. There is no letter (in "my computer") assigned to any drive I connect. Diskmanager does show it but as "not initialised". The attempt to initialise it returns "not ready".
PS: ALL HDDs do show in Kubuntu. So I'd exclude a hardware problem. HDDs are formatted in journalised ext3/4 as well as NTFS/FAT32. Should at least show FAT32/NTFS drives and partitions, shouldn't it?

Sep 30, 2012Here is what is going on. I plug in the MP3 player, does not matter which port, and when I go to "My Computer" to click on the drive to get the music files it comes up with error message "G: is not accessible. Access denied."
I have tried going to properties and configuring security options, but there is nothing with "security" or related to that. I am already logged in as Admin, there is also no "run as admin" either.
