Cannot Access NAS Folders - Not Showing In Explorer On Windows 7 Laptop

I have an LG N2A2 NAS box with a wired connection into my router. I then have two laptops that are generally connected to the router wirelessly but sometimes via cable, if I am transferring a large amount of data. The main laptop is running Win 7 Pro (64 bit) and the other one is running Vista Business. Until a couple of weeks ago the NAS would show up under computers in Windows Explorer on the Win 7 laptop, and the shared folders could be accessed. At that point I connected the other laptop via cable to the router.
Since then NAS has not been showing under computers in WE on the Win 7 laptop and I haven't been able to access the shared folders. The NAS is still showing as a media device and I can log in via IE - but I cannot get at the files directly or back up to a NAS folder. I have tried entering the device name and IP address in WE but I get the error message "Windows cannot access XYZ...". I ran the troubleshooter but it didn't work. The NAS came with a NAS detector utility and sure enough this detects the NAS but when I click "Open Network Folder" nothing happens. I have tried changing the IP of the NAS but this does not make any difference.

I have a windows 7 os on my main pc and xp pro on my laptop. when i try to access files on my main pc (windows 7) from my xp pro laptop I get asked for a user name and password. Yet when I do it the other way round I have full access with out any password ect. I have not set up any passwords and have tried my home group password but not got any joy. I have 2 other laptops both running windows 7 and have no problems networking between all windows 7 systems. all computers are running norton firewall and are configered the same.

i have a brand new toshiba laptop connected wirelessly. however it keeps showing connected however no internet access.i have a notebook as well that is brand new and it connects no problems what so ever.im using windows 7 home premium and 64 bit os.

I am trying to create a message rule in Windows Live Mail Desktop. For example, I want a rule to automatically place any email from Pay Pal, to a folder I created named Pay Pal. But when I chose the option "specified folder", only the Outbox shows up as a list of folder options to move this to.

It seems I can't pin folders to Windows explorer in my taskbar any more. A few weeks ago all the folders that where pinned there disappeared (even the ones that where added automatically) and if I try to add new ones nothing happens. Programs can still be pinned to the taskbar as before. What could be causing this?

I have a drive that doesn't show in Windows Explorer, but if I open Computer Management, it shows that it exists and is functioning properly.It is an external drive, connected by USB 2.0, directly to the computer, which is a Dell XPS 410. The drive itself is a Western Digital. It was working fine as of last week (which is when I last noticed; it could have been working until a later date) and I don't recall any additions/subtractions/changes to my system.

I have read several threads in different forums regarding different types of issues with right clicking in Win 7 x64. My issue is when right clicking on folders/files within the Window Explorer. Below is my set up:
Win 7 Ultimate (64) - SP1 Build 7601
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 (2.47Ghz dual core)
Asus AV8 Deluxe
4GB ram
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 (Driver 96.85)
I am logged in as Administrator by default. I did not have this issue before.I only have the following installed (in order of installation):Office 2007 / IE / Firefox / MS Security Essentials / Spyware Doctor / Malwarebytes / Adobe Master Collection CS4 / AVS4You Suite / WinRAR / VLC player / Picasa / Orbit Down Loader / Mp3tag / and Rocketdock with Stack docklet
Issue:I can right click on the desktop, desktop icons, task bar, and start menu with no problems (including inside the start menu). As an example - if a go to the start menu and left click on My Computer, the Windows Explorer will open as normal (displaying all my drives). At this level I can right click on my drives and the menu pops up with no problems. But as a further example - if I left click on my C: drive, in order to go into the next level in Windows Explorer, I will see the folder/files inside the C: drive (like normal). But at this point (or further levels), if I right click on any folders or files - the menu will pop up so fast (like a split second flash) and go away. It does not give me the chance to do anything. And after this split second flash, the Windows Explorer goes back to the previous level (as if I hit the Back button).
It does not matter how deep I navigate into the folder structure (anything past the first level - where the Drives are displayed) - as soon as I right click, the same "flash" happens. Including the backing up of a level each time I right click, until I end up back at my Drives again. Yet if I were to copy-n-move any folder/file to the desk top level, then I can right click like normal (even though within the Windows Explorer I could not).Is this a Security/Permission setting? Or is this a corrupted Context Menu issue (inside one of the registry levels)?

I have a client who had a problem on his Windows Explorer in windows 7 64 bit. When he opens the windows explorer, it will show on the taskbar but it will not show on the screen. When he click on it, it will also open. Right click on it but no option to maximize or restore. The same problem with the task manager. But there's no problem opening other applications.

I got a problem, something to do with my windows 7. sometime i click the programe file folder or download file this masage will appear.when i click "check online for solution"...they loading a several minute and then auitomaticaly restart the windows in a few second.The same action if i click "Debug the program or restart the program.

When i opened my windows explorer to go to my pictures . there were no folders just 4 boxes that said " pictures.library-ms." ( documents.library-ms. etc ] . i deleted them and tried to restore them but it didnt work . when i go to upload a picture to tumblr it works but not if i want to just upload them to my computer and veiw them .when i tried to save an image to the computer it wouldnt let me it said : " can not save to this location "

Well my computer was infected with a strange virus recently which I managed to get rid of with help of various antiviruses and anti spywares, and my pc is all clean again. But the problem I have now is that great number of folders have disappeared! I have already checked if they were hidden or even deleted, but when I manually access those folders from browser address bar it works just fine. (I.E theres no way I can see my "program files x86" in the browser, but yet when I type in C:program files x86 it would take me there just fine").

So basically new folders added by uTorrent to my "Download" folder which is shared to everyone on my network don't show up when I access the older from any computer on the network. (except the one where the files are located)I have to say they do eventually show up... I guess when I restart the host or something maybe?

We have just bought new PC with Windows 7 after old PC died. Have tried to transfer files from a memory stick (mainly word / excel) onto new pc but Windows exploer says memory stick folder is empty. When put stick into laptop (running I think on XP) it clearly shows files are present. Have tried copying files onto different stick but get the same problem.
New PC has Kapersky and it scanned the stick when 1st put it in and found no problems with it.

Windows explorer crashes with the error message "Windows Explorer has stopped working" whenever I click on any folder that has a RAW image file (.CR2) or a TIFF/PSD image file in it. It then shuts down and restarts. It only happens with these large image files, not video, audio, or pdf files.I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. My computer did two lengthy Windows updates over the last week when I did system restarts, so maybe that has something to do with it?I spent the whole day yesterday trying different suggestions I found on the web and nothing has worked. Here's some of the things that I've tried that have been unsuccessful:
- Selected "Always show icons, never thumbnails" in "Folder options / View".- Scanned my computer with Malwarebytes. Same problem after the scan/cleanup.- Tried do a System Restore on 6 different restore points and none of them could complete the Restore successfully.- Tried to do a System Restore on the same restore points in safe mode and it still couldn't do it.- Ran SFC/ scan, still does the same thing afterwards.- Updated my video card driver.- Tried different image codec packs.- Uninstalled all image codec packs.- Some selective startup or clean boot stuff through "msconfig" that didn't help.- Plus a few other things that I can't even remember (it was a late night!) to use Photoshop and work with these images for my line of work so I'm kind of at a standstill until I get this resolved.

Like my title read, I can't open any folders in my Windows Explorer with a double click. It gives me the error message "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." This also happens whenever I try to open any drives, such as C: drive. I can however run programs from Windows Explorer, and can right click, then choose open to open folders.
I have already done extensive searching on the subject, tried deleting autorun.ini files, tried some registry fixes, with no luck. I'm obviously running Windows 7, 32-bit, on a HP desktop.

In Windows Explorer, I can't open folders by double clicking then any more. I can still open them by expanding then pointing to collapsed sub folders etc. Double clicking folders within an application also still works.

I am using a brand-new Dell Inspiron One model with a Lacie-model external hard-drive, on Windows 7. All of a sudden, when I click to view my folders, they are completely empty. When clicking on the My Computer option, my hard drive is there, showing 76 GB free out of a total of 232 GB, but everything appears to be gone. I have a problem with the folders in windows explorer in windows 7.Often windows explorer automatically creates unwanted folders who I cant recognize. Often some folders have been splitted in 2 or more folders. One example is that it had been created 2 folders of my "bon jovi"-folder. One of them has the original name "bon jovi" and the new folder has the name "jon bon jovi". Strange behaviour by windows explorer.Or just one file is saved in a folder and a subfolder, which have names based on the files name, often the artist and album. If I download one file, I want it saved in "my music"-folder "bare", not hidden in 1 or 2 folders.Suddenly, after 15 mins or so, a lot of new unwanted folders appeared in "my music" with subfolders and just one mp3-file. The new folders were created just some minutes ago. The numbers of folders in "my music" has increased much.Many of the mp3-files are downloaded from dc++, but the settings in dc++ is correct. The files are saved in "my music"-folder.Ive tried to change the foldersettings in windows explorer, f.ex organise -> reset folders, but it doesnt help

I have been searching the internet for the past few days for answers to this problem and haven't found anything yet. Randomly in the past few days Windows 7 explorer/my documents folder/anywhere in my computer locks up and stops responding when I try to use my keyboard. I have three computers all running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, one of which functions partly as a media center (hosting music etc), the second and third being my office workstation and laptop respectively. The media center has a hard line to my cable modem (via Trendnet wireless-N router) while the latter two connect via wireless; the workstation via a wireless ethernet hub and the laptop via it's integrated wireless.I currently have all of my media folders shared via homegroup on the media center.
My laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad W500) can access all of the shared folders.My office workstation, while I can "see" the shared libraries/folders on my media center, hangs (the explorer window appears to be perpetually loading) whenever I attempt to open any of the folders. Sometimes when this happens I can kill/restart explorer but ever so often explorer itself will be unable to restart and I will have to reboot the entire machine.I have Windows Security Essentials running on both machines - all three are almost identical with respects to the installed software.I have tried reconfiguring the homegroup multiple times, flushing the dns cache, resetting and cycling the router, and have even swapped out wireless adapters (on the problematic workstation) to no avail.
