View 1 RepliesI built a computer back in May...a few weeks later I started getting BSODs. They don't happen all too often, about 1 or 2 times per week. After trying to google the issue, they suggested running memtest - no errors, driver verifier found nothing, etc. So I re-installed windows, the same thing happened, I re-installed windows again, still get a blue screen every once in awhile. Then I noticed my power supply started making a humming noise, I ignored it, then one day it sparked and died. I thought that was the cause of all my issues until I replaced it with a temporary one and a few days later got another blue screen. It's always either ntoskrnl.exe or hal.dll, I didn't keep all the crash dumps from my previous installs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the HP DV6-3052nr for about a year and a half. My processor is an Intel Core i7, my graphics card is the ATI Mobility Radeon 5650, and it contains 6GB of RAM. A year ago at this time, I was running the game Crysis along with other programs all at once with an accumulated memory usage of 1,500,000. The CPU was at 15% while this was happening. Today, with all other programs closed, I can hardly run Skype, Oovoo, or Minecraft without my CPU spiking to 92% - 100%. The only way for me to solve the lag produced is by restarting my laptop. Why is it that the performance has declined, and aside from formatting, what alternatives do I have to return the performance to what it had once been?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery single time my windows 7 updates, my windows keep randomly tabbing or something, making it almost impossible to type anything for more than 2 seconds. So if I am typing something in Word, I will be typing for about 2 seconds when I notice that the Word Icon on the control panel becomes unhighlighted (at which point I can't type anything), and then becomes highlighted again in the next few seconds and I can type again for a bit. This cycle continues to repeat itself and I have resorted to just restoring my computer over and over again so that it has not recieved updates (Im like 20 behind or something). That's the only time the problem seems to resolve but eventully I will be needing updates no? How do I fix this?
View 1 Replies View Relatedfor the last week or so I've been getting consistent BSOD's. I have reinstalled windows, updated all my drivers, even bought a new graphics card, and I am still having problems. I was having problems with memory, although these got sorted out when I tweaked the numbers. The slightly confusing thing is that almost every time I get a BSOD, it's a new error. 64 bit windows 7 home premium - Hardware is less then one year old, except hard drive. - OS installed a few days ago

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a few problems for the past 2-3 weeks-ish and i can't find any solutions, the problem consists of whenever i get into the operating system to the desktop it will load in increments ill set there for a little while and say for example my drivers that make my mouse run and say core temp at start-up wont launch for about 30 seconds but when they do they launch together it also doesn't load any of my removable drives during this time either. I've had general slowness of windows.exe when i go into documents it takes 5-7 seconds to load you can see the bar up at the top moving along like grandma on a walker. Steam has also been affected quite terribly it goes unresponsive when i try to download or do anything really in fact i can't launch it right now it just won't after i sign in it connects then goes unresponsive and closes. My mother board logo at the beginning of turning on my PC also has been slowed takes 20-30 seconds now used to take 3-5 no bios options have been changed for the logo.I'm running my OS on a crucial M4 64gb with the firmware update i believe ill have to check and all my apps are on a 1tb WD black Space wise the SSD is at 9 gigs free and the HDD is at 300gigs free
My system consists of:

I've checked all plugins and everything is fine i built the system in march and this problem is new i suspect the motherboard bios which i have stock its a rev 0906 i believe but i'm not too sure ill update it here in a bit along with the SSD.I use Microsoft Security Essentials for security and i have ran full system scans with that and malwarebytes i run CCleaner every week and so fourth.

I am brand new to this site so forgive me if I miss a step. I was wondering if someone who is good at debugging dump files could give me a second set of eyes on these 2 I will attach. One BSOD is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (ntoskrnl.exe) and the other is UNEXEPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP (ntoskrnl.exe).I have this problem across 15 identical laptops with fresh installs of Win 7 Pro 64Now my guess is this will boil down to a BIOS upgrade, but if there are driver conflicts within these dump files

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been getting BSOD's with the POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA reason and once or twiceMEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I ran memtest86+ and no errors were reported. BlueScreenView shows that it's ntoskrnl.exe causing the crashes. The crashes recently have been happening quicker (1-2 hours) with uTorrent running, and if I load uTorrent after the crash reboot, it crashes almost immediately. In the past, it would crash every couple of days right after clicking on a button in any program.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been getting this bluescreen error sometimes when watching videos and I can also get it every time I try to install a specific game (it plays music in the background when installing) when clicking the next button after inputting the serial. I think this has something to do with the drivers but am not sure which one. I have updated all of the drivers I can from the Asus page a few months ago. I have checked for newer ones but I can't find any on the manufacturer's page.Laptop Model: Asus N53JQ-XR1 The OS is Win 7x64 OEM.The system is about 2 years old.The OS has not been reinstalled.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a unique fault on my Windows 7 install.
Upgrading from XP
Spec: AMD Dual-core 3gig, 4 gb RAM, WD 500GB primary HDD, ATI gfx
So - downloaded and installed Windows 7 from a memory stick.
Installed apparently ok.
Re-booted - came up with the "popular" NTOSKRNL.exe missing/corrupt error.
Re-copied various files; hal.dll, ntoskrnl.exe etc as directed on various sites - no joy.
Thinking it could be a MBR fault and not being familiar with Vista/Windows 7 I stuck in my old XP install CD to use Fdisk.
With the XP install CD in the drive, Windows 7 boots perfectly! (Doesn't even attempt to load XP install/repair)
Take out CD - NTOSKRNL error.
Once in Windows 7 - everything works fine.
Looking at various other options, came acorss a couple of tips about BCD and bootrec such as:
How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows
Error message when you start Windows Vista: "The Windows Boot Configuration Data file is missing required information"
Bootrec used to say the only OS was C:Windows.old.00
Ran fixes as above - now says there are no OS installed.
Windows 7 repair console only finds Windows 7 OS
Am starting to go insane.
To summarise:
Recieve NTOSKRNL.exe error when booting up PC
Boots Windows 7 fine with WinXP install disk in drive
Bootrec finds no OS
Windows 7 repair finds Windows 7
I was playing some games today and i got a BSoD.I attached the minidump to the post.I opened it with a debugger tool and it said that ntoskrnl.exe might be at fault.

My PC crashes at random times, I have tried every thing I can think of to repair the problem.
AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor

Installed RAM: 16GB MB that runs at 1600mhz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
Asus Crosshair IV Formula
I use kasperksy internet security.
I use a Razer Mouse and keyboard.
I have 2 Screens Running.
I use display fusion.
sfc /scannow (done no errors) spybot, combofix and kasperksy (scans not a thing found) Ccleaner and Glary Registry Repairs (done and fixed) All drivers updated and checked with Driver Genius Professional Edition (done) Scanned my HDD for Errors (done) Ran a Memtest for Errors (done) Reinstalled Windows (done) Driver Verifier (done) (Random BSOD errors ntoskrnl.exe and wdf01000.sys - Windows 7 Forums)
Replaced Graphic Card because of over heating but error form before I placed it. Ram is set to 1600MHz and 1.5v like the manufacturer website says.
I just built my girlfriend's PC a few days ago, all was well but now a BSOD appears randomly, so after using BlueScreenView on the dump files it all originates from one driver. The PC in questions specs are almost identical to my own (minus the 1TB HDD and her MOBO is the Rev 3.1 version of the same MOBO).
