Computer Won't Load BIOS

Error 1234F: Would Not Boot Or Load BIOS
Dec 30, 2011This morning I powered up my PC and got this error, 1234F:
Tried pressing 1 and nothing happened. Restarted and tried to get into the BIOS by pressing DEL, but the BIOS wouldn't load. Opened up the computer and unplugged all my hard drives and unneeded USB devices. Got into the BIOS fine after that. Powered down and reconnected the boot drive and everything booted up fine. Ran a quick test on the hard rive using the Seagate Seatools utility and it passed. Reconnected the other drives and again, everything checked out fine. I hope to run longer tests on my drives later this morning just to make sure.
I did have a Ubuntu live usb stick plugged in, but I have this plugged in often and have never had a problem. Tried recreating the problem by reconnecting everything and restarting but everything booted up fine.
The only things I have done to the PC is swap out two internal hard drives two days ago. I also have been having problems with my USB ports which I haven't figured out yet, this will probably be the subject of another thread!
So everything seems to be running fine now but I am a little worried about what might have caused my problem and if it is an indication of another problem? Is there anything I need to check?

GTX580 Black Screen/Reboot In Games, Windows Logo, Even At Bios Load
Jun 9, 2012I purchased a system with dual GTX580's about a year and a half ago. I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.
Dell Computer PC Will Not Load Windows Install CD From Computer Crash
Jun 21, 2012I have a two year old Dell PC with Windows 7. I got a virus in my computer that by phone and computer takeover Norton located in my MBR. When they cleaned it my computer will no longer boot up. Norton worked with me for three days on the problem but we were unable to fix the computer. I followed other web sites and repaired my MBR but it still will not boot up. I tried System Repair, Check point, Image, and Dell system restore and all failed. I have tried to use the Windows install CD and all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor and then after 3 minutes the compute attempts to boot again and fails. I tried everything to try and wipe the drive from C prompt and it will not let me. I have very weak computer skills but I can follow directions and I have wiped a previous computer I owned. (I confirmed that my CD drive is working) I also should mention I have a second hard drive on my computer that I backed everything up to.

But then again whenever i am on my desktop doing whatever i can use it perfectly fine. Also it does not show up in the bios. it just has my boot up drive and my optical drive.

Jan 28, 2012I've changed my MOBO to Gigabyte.. for some reason, when i tried to enter into BIOS, it doesn't. I cud see "press DEL to enter setup" message... Feb 21, 2012I've had this problem for a while on my new-ish computer, it's a full original build. Whenever I restart, or startup from shut down I have to enter the BIOS. It doesn't actually give me any option other than pressing F1 to go into setup. I've checked the order in BIOS in which it should try to boot from, changing it seems to have no effect whatsoever. When I try to start using Windows boot manager, it just goes into Startup repair and then fails to load at all. To get it to boot I have to enter advanced repair using a boot disc in my discdrive, then go to the memory diagnostic tool. Next I have to restart, enter windows boot manager and then cancel the memory test, it then puts me straight into the windows login screen?

Currently my boot order is: Windows boot manager > DVD drive > HDD
There's no option to put my SSD (which is where windows is actually installed) in that list for some reason, even though I can select it from the boot menu. When I do though I just get a black screen.

Feb 13, 2013When I built this computer back in the dark ages of 2007, I set it up to dual-boot Vista and XP. Every time I powered on, I'd get a prompt to boot into Vista or "older version of Windows," meaning XP. I'd pick one and go on my merry way. In 2011, I formatted the Vista drive, installed Windows 7, and deleted the XP install since I had XP mode in 7 if I needed compatibility. No more dual-boot prompt. I had no issues until last night, when I went shopping for a new hard drive. My motherboard, a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, was running an old BIOS that has problems with drives of 1 TB or more. So in order to be sure I could use the drive I'm buying, I updated the BIOS to the latest revision, using Gigabyte's @BIOS utility to do it in-OS rather than through the boot menu.
When I rebooted, the system POSTed fine. But instead of booting Windows, it gave me the old choice between Vista or the "older version of Windows" - despite neither of those operating systems being present. If I tell the boot manager to do anything, it spits out an error since it can't find any OS files it recognizes. The BIOS itself seems to be fine - I'm writing this on the affected computer, running Ubuntu with a Live CD. I can see all the hard drives, open files, etc. I just don't know how to get the boot manager pointed at Windows 7 again.
Computer Doesn't Even Turn On BIOS?
Jan 26, 2012my mothers laptop (HP-2133 *Large Battery*) just stopped working.There have happened a couple of things, so I'll tell it one by one:- My mother turned on (From hibernation) her laptop one day, and the screen was green.:My thoughts: I thought that it might be the graphics card that had some kind of error on start up, so I just turned it off and on again. Then it ran like it used to. A few hours later the laptop had these random freezes, which made "Force-shutdown" the only possible way of rebooting.:My thoughts: I thought that this was perhaps a virus, but I never got the chance to run our Anti-virus (Kaspersky Antivirus PRO)- Now (two days later), when she/I tries/try to turn on the laptop, nothing happens... The laptop powers on, but doesn't actually run the HDD, or even the motherboard for that matter (Doesn't run the BIOS).
:My thoughts: I noticed that the only light that's on, is the power-light, (The HDD doesn't even blink). I also noticed that the screen doesn't even turn on, but the fans actually run (Most likely because the laptop is powered on)So I can imagine that the motherboard is dead, and in these couple of days, it's shown me that this is it's last days to live.But before I rip it apart and save the value parts, and scrap the rest, I would like to ask you guys for your opinion..
After Installing MSI Bios Computer Keeps Restarting?
Apr 10, 2012I just installed MSI Bios from Live Update and now it is on a restarting loop. It's about to go to the login screen then blacks out for a few seconds then makes this 2 second beep which it has never done before this update, and goes to windows error recovery and giving me two options: Launch startup repair (recommended) or start windows normally. Jan 6, 2013The other day I was on my laptop computer and it froze. I had to hard shut it down (like I have done in the past) and when I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't go past the "starting windows" screen. I have pressed F8 and F10 when I turned it back on and tried everything that it gives me the option for. It won't allow me to go into safe mode. It ends up doing the same thing as when I just try turning on the computer normally, doesn't go past the starting windows screen. I have had this computer for 3 years and have never had an issue with it until now. I don't even know if I still have the discs still or not (don't believe I do)

So I did (I am so dumb T_T) and it turned off my whole entire PC. I was so scared!. So I turned it back up it said that the startup won't load and it was trying to repair it. After it was done it said you have to restart your pc. But it gave me that same startup couldn't load and has to repair. So I put in my Windows 7 os disk. And when It was done with step 2 it told me to restart to finish the process. I did and it put me back to step 1 and start over.

Jan 2, 2012My computer was freezing up after i load up to my desktop .. than it told me my hard drive was no good. The system had me to make back up disks. I got a new hard drive. The new hard drive is the type that allow us to transfer operating sytstem and files to new hard drive from the old one. I tried but im not sure if it hook up right. So now i have two hard drives.. i even switch it up so it boot from the new one and not the old and went back and switch it again back to the old one. This is where I'm at now.. the computer won't load to the startup screen and had me to do recovery but it not taking it. I assume i need a new operating system for the new hard and do a clean install.. but not having the installation cd with the drivers is the reason why im stuck atm. I dont have no problem erasing what there on both hard drive and starting over. The problem atm is not having the installation cd with the drivers.

New BIOS Upgrade - Computer Freezes For About Two Minutes
Apr 13, 2012I just upgraded my bios yesterday, and now my computer reads all of my ram! Now things are acting kinda weird. When I first turn on the computer, is starts fine. Comes to the desktop screen fine. But then it kinda freezes for about two minutes. Can't do anything except open the task manager and play with the mouse. It won't even connect to the internet. Then when everything starts working again, it takes like 2 minutes literally for any web page to appear. I have checked with internet company twice, and both times they say there is no problem with the internet connection.

None of my keyboards will light up for me to hit delete to get into bios.... not even my PS2 keyboard.... it will just continue to turn on, and show the logo screen telling me to hit various keys for various functions and then it will reboot on its own and it will just continue to do this and will not let me hit a key to get into the BIOS screens

[code] My computer has been getting BSOD'S for several days after installing java 7 update 8.I somehow managed to get system back on it's track for few times with cd/usb booting but now, when i start it i just get a black screen no beeps at all and back, gpu and cpu fans are working on max.Tried reseting bios with clr cmos button and taking the bios battery out but nothing helps.I thought it could be hardware error and as there was black screen i suspected the gpu which was making problems before the fan came off so I replaced it with accelero l2 pro.I don't think it's the mobo problem because when i remove both ram sticks i get like 8 beeps until it restarts and everything repeats.But on the other hand how could it be hardware problem if comp autorecovered bios.I also thought about flashing the bios but the boot is set to floppy so i am not sure how would that work out.

so it started about a month ago, i would be playing eve online or minecraft.. and all of a sudden.. i would get a blue screen of death OR a computer lock up.. bac then i had 2x radeon 5770 cards... i replaced that with a radeon 7950 (amazing card btw) computer still keeps locking up, so i run memtest to see if its the ram, it passed, . so i turn off the pc. the next day... i get a startup failure in win7, i tried to repair it many times but it wouldnt.. so i took out my SSD hard drive and bought a traditional spin hard drive.. so far..only 1 blue screen .. something to do with ATi.. so i stopped running catalyst control center (i like to keep an eye out for my vid card temp) as well as speedfan (just in case) doesnt run anymore... so now my computer doesnt randomly freeze... ever.. HOWEVER.. when my computer is under heavy load (i run 8 clients of a game called EVE Online).. it will freeze.. no mouse movement.. nothing...total freeze.. this also happens when i load up the universe map in eve online (i guess that only goes to people who play eve)otherwise.. computer now runs stable if i avoid those 2 things and 1 more thing to add.. i obviously had to reinstall windows 7 on my new hd so it is a fresh install?
Computer Can't Load User Id Profile And Cannot Log In
Jan 19, 2012My computer after I type in my password to log in says that my user profile cant be updated. I can access it in safe mode which I am currently on. I have already installed malware bytes and run it in addition to combo fix. Maybe I did something wrong while using either of those programs and they did work correctly but nothing has changed.
