when i start my computer it gets stuck for like 4-5 min here:and then again after windows logo it has a blackscreen for anotehr 2-3 mintues.i tryed reformating from windows xp to 7 and it still has the same problem.the computer it self doesnt get stuck or anything it works fine.tryed restarting 5 times and each time it gets stuck?
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded my bios yesterday, and now my computer reads all of my ram! Now things are acting kinda weird. When I first turn on the computer, is starts fine. Comes to the desktop screen fine. But then it kinda freezes for about two minutes. Can't do anything except open the task manager and play with the mouse. It won't even connect to the internet. Then when everything starts working again, it takes like 2 minutes literally for any web page to appear. I have checked with internet company twice, and both times they say there is no problem with the internet connection.

When I boot windows 7 it gets to the blue window stating windows 7 home premium and stays there for about 5 minutes without doing anything then it will finally boot on up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo ThinkPad X60 laptop with Win7 32-bit Ultimate and an SSD (I know, I know, just go with it. I'm building a desktop soon). I could list the specs, but that's useless for this problem (I'd think).
At times (not always), when either resuming from hibernate or booting up from a shut down, the computer generally freezes at the point right after the BIOS screen. So it's just a black screen. This is before the window that says "starting up" (literally a window... the Windows logo). Whenever it freezes, it NEVER goes to the boot screen of Windows. I'm assuming this is an error with the hard drive, since the OS is on the SSD and the boot screen is from the mobo. However, this only started happening after a rather heavy fall to the ground that cracked many parts of the plastic shell on the computer. It still works occasionally when I can get it to boot up (nothing different when it boots up... same settings and everything. Spontaneous).
I have tried:
1) Cold reboot
2) Removing battery
3) Going off only battery
4) Unplugging EVERYTHING from the computer
I have not tried chkdsk yet. Is it necessary? Also, would there be a log somewhere of what happened? It never booted into Windows.
I have a five-month old HP Compaq Presario Laptop, which has been working fairly decently (I've had a few virus scares, and my Norton quarrentined something a twenty days ago). On HP's advice, I just updated the BIOS on my laptop. It's currently stuck at Verifying New Bios Image, and it's at 100% - It's been stuck that way for a half-hour plus.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI built a new gaming PC about a month and a half ago and its been running fine up until now. I turned it on a couple of days ago and Win 7 was freezing up. The mouse cursor was a blue wheel and I couldn't click or do anything. I couldn't even access the command line and ctrl+alt+del didn't work either. At this point it did boot up in safe mode. I powered it down and now it won't boot past BIOS. I reseated everything and checked all the connections and everything seems good.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dv7 notebook with Win 7 Home Premium installed on it. Everything is running fine, except a couple of days ago the notebook began to take too damn long to boot up when restarting or just when powering it on.
I noticed it gets "stuck" on a black screen, just like a blank DOS screen, for about 2 minutes before booting up Windows.
I have tried downloading new BIOS from HP website, resetting the BIOS settings, changing the boot order but nothing really works. It always stays on the black screen for around two minutes and then Windows boots up normally. No text is shown, nothing at all.
I've been having trouble with my new motherboard BioStar TZ68K+ . Whenever I access the BIOS, the selection keeps moving up as if the "up arrow" key on the keyboard was stuck. My keyboard is connected via purple PS2 in the back. I tried with a different keyboard, this time a USB connection, and still the same result. It seems to be happening only in the BIOS as it doesn't do any strange behaviour when I'm in Windows. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and cleared the CMOS using the jumper on the board.

More often, it will turn the displays off, but won't ever put the computer to sleep.Why wouldn't the computer go to sleep?Wouldn't any activity turn the displays back on? And so if they don't come back on, why wouldn't it go to sleep?why wouldn't the displays turn off, and then it goes to sleep?

Everything works fine except the time it takes to rip my CD's. Using Windows Media Player or Media Center on my other computer, it takes about 2 minutes. On the new Dell, my computer temporarily freezes after ripping the first track, and then will take at least 20 minutes to complete.under the heading of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, there are no channels listed. So I can't enable DMA. The only thing listed is "AMD Sata Controller". Is this a problem with the AMD controller drivers? I've installed the latest from the Dell site. Should I uninstall the AMD controller driver and try to install the Windows 7 drivers instead?
I have a dell inspiron N4010 windows 7 operating system and for some reason, after two minutes of me logging on to my computer the screen suddenly dims, the mouse disappears, and the entire computer freezes. No matter how many times i restart my computer the same thing happens. I don't have this problem though when i'm in safe mode. but when i'm in safe mode, i don't have access to my virus detection software, so i can't scan for a virus either in normal or safe mode.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop was fine yesterday.All I did was take it home from college.I have Avast! anti virus, Lavasoft ad-aware and malwarebytes..so the chance of a virus infecting my system is low.Computer loads fine, gets to the login screen.I login.Computer sticks on the Loading screen.once it finally loads it just shows the taskbar and a black background.It does not seem to respond any more than that unless I press ctrl + alt + del which then allows me to use the computer as normal, however, as I say it takes about 20 - 30 minutes to get to there.my other account (the one I am using just now.) is not much better.It doesn't take 20 - 30 minutes ( about 1 - 2 minutes) and it loads fine without the black background problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a WD 15k Raptor hard drive and my computer now takes about 7 minutes to boot up, it gets stuck at the starting screen, where no hard drive action will happen, then 7-8 minutes later there will be loads of activity then will start up, ive tried narrowing it down, by removing the old hard drive (because im using the other old hard drive that had the OS on for media) and just running the new one, but no luck, I also tried reinstalling Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my old hard drive, which had no problems before, but the same effect, takes 7-8 minutes to boot. Ive even tried removing any new hardware I installed before it, but still the same problem, Ive asked a lot of people and Ive had various solutions, but no effect, I think its to do with the power supply, or the SATA cable and power addapter I purchased for the new hard drive. My computer will 100% freeze after roughly 10 mins of use (doesnt matter what i do in the 10 mins). I'm running windows 7 home 32 bit, i5 quad core (cant rmb alot of details, will dig up more soon), asus p8p67 mobo, wd 1tb green and 4gb ram.
The only way to "unfreeze" my computer is to restart it, if i leave it as it is without restarting I'll get a BSOD that says "KERNEL INPAGE DATA ERROR"

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my screen freezes and cant move my mouse at that time. it came after i installed my amd bulldozer fx 6100 into my recent build (Msi 890fxa gd 65 board, gskill ripjaws f3-10666CL9D-9GBRL , msi radeon 6870 twinfrozr 3 and some sata 2 WD harddrive. It sometimes happend on my old build where was an amd phenom II x2 565 3.4ghz processor... Now its happening nearly every 15mins or so. After i defrag my 2year old harddrive it comes after 30-60minutes..I think its about the processor not being compatible to the memory and motherboard(OR the harddrive being 2years old and sata 2 and nomore in the markets, makes crappy noises even .Because the memory box says "Designed for Intel LGA 1156 platforms / Compatible whit Intel LGA 1155 sandy bridge and amd am3 CPUS.And their website says that the 890fxa gd65 board does not support that memory,but still detects and works in my build. My chipset in the motherboard is AMD am3 and supports am3+.

At first, it was running smooth, after about 5-10 minutes the computer shut down. Since my laptop overheats quite easily, I checked the temperature of the CPU, but it wasn't hot at all. Then I tried a newer version (build 7032), same thing happens for every game.
Does anyone know the reason for this? Is there a possible fix?
I've got a pretty regular and predictable usage pattern with my computer - quick logon in the morning to check emails, go to work, use computer at night, restart before bed.The computer is set to sleep after three hours of inactivity. So in the morning it will be sleeping, then when I get home from work same thing. Sometimes not; never figured what wakes the computer, but 90% of the time, that's how that works - it sleeps after three hours, and stays sleeping for several hours.However, this week I noticed that the computer seemingly never sleeps. It's always on when I come by it, including in the morning, and when I get home from work.Checked the system log in the event viewer for events 1 (wakeup) and 42(sleep), and I noticed that, into the morning of 9/16, the normal pattern of several hours of sleep was adhered to. Since 9/16 though, every sleep period lasts about 2 1/2 minutes. That is, it goes to sleep (event 42), and then within 2-3 minutes, it will wake up (event 1).There have been no Windows updates in that time that would affect this. Definition updates for Windows Defender on 9/18 and 9/21, and KB2744842 (security update for IE 9 on x64 systems) on 9/22, but nothing happened, including no new software installations, on 9/15 or 9/16.So why is my computer suddenly waking from sleep almost immediately?

I have a Asus N53S laptop runnin windows 7 32 bit and I am having some trouble with it. This will probably be a large post so bear with me, the first problem I started having was blue screens on startup. I was able to fix the computer by running Startup repair a few times (tool about 3-4 hours) after that it worked for a day but the next day when I turned on the computer it froze and the music that was playing turned into a loud droning noise. After that I ran the startup repair again it did not work so I did a system restore, it seemed to fix the problem but sadly on startup I started getting blue screens again and this time neither startup repair nor system restore would work (I get a message saying there was a unexpected error: the system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002) please close system restore and try again) I re open system restore 5 times and I get the same message.I restart my computer , spam f8 and choose the use last known good configuration. After I restore everything to factory settings and finish installing my steam games and other files I Ty restarting the computer to see if it fixed the problem. It seemed to have worked however that night there was a particularly large windows update (90 or so a one time) I clicked shutdown and let it finish the updates while I went to sleep. The next morning I wake up and turn on the computer it finishes syncing the updates then stays at the starting windows screen ( the logo would not show up just those words and a black screen. After it sat like that for 10 minutes or so I hold the power button and try again ,this time it did the same thing but only for a few seconds and it ran startup repair itself , startup repair could not fix the problem.
