This problem has started recently. Moreover, new software and drivers have not been installed. When I put my computer into sleep mode, it immediately restarts itself, and when it restarts, it produces the �Windows Did Not Shut Down Properly� error.
View 9 RepliesJust recently my computer has not been entering sleep mode. Nothing changed from last week and now it doesn't go. I can select sleep from the start up menu but it instantly turns back on. I went into device manager and deselected all usb and my wireless mouse and keyboard from waking the computer. Still won't sleep but now can enter sleep mode from the start menu and will stay asleep. However won't enter sleep by inactivity. If I unplug the usb receiver the computer will enter sleep like it use to. What going on? Even changed the batteries, because this happened a year ago and it was becuase they were dying
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I sleep or hibernate my computer, within 10 seconds of it turning off, it turns back on again by itself. When it turns back on, there is no output on my monitor. I used remote desktop from another computer to see whether it was just the video that wasn't being reposted, but when I tried to connect, it couldn't find the computer. None of the keys work on my keyboard, including the sleep and power buttons.
I have an ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe motherboard, and an Intel 3.0 GHz processor. I'm also running the x64 version of Windows 7.
Any ideas how to stop it starting up autonomously ?

Just the other day, I bought a Samsung 830 SSD and tried to install it yesterday. There were several problems, including the SSD not showing up in disk management and Windows Explorer, but showing up in device manager, and showing up in the BIOS. The biggest problem, however, was learning that my motherboard could not do SATA 6 without halving my PCI-E x16 lane. Anyway, I decided to hold off on the SSD until my next build and I'm sending it back.
The issue now is that I cannot put my computer to sleep. When I do, it resumes within a second or so. I tried unplugging every device from it, including my Ethernet cable and all USB devices, and it still persists. I also changed power management to disallow my network card from waking my computer, and changed the suspend mode of my USB controller to disallow them to wake the computer as well.
While installing the SSD, I recall changing the SATA 6 Marvell controller from IDE to AHCI (two SATA 6 ports are controlled by Marvell (into which I plugged my SSD) and the others by JMicron). As of writing, the Marvell controller is back to IDE and has nothing plugged into it. I also installed a few SATA controller drivers while attempting to get SATA 6 speeds and trying to figure out why my SSD was not showing up in disk management (I could not even format it via a right-click and it had no drive letter).
My suspend mode is set to "Auto" in BIOS, same as it's always been. Perhaps this has nothing to do with my failed installation of the SSD. But it only began after I tried to install it.
My computer fails to sleep when asked, it re-awakens immediately or shortly afterwards.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a HP Pavilion g series laptop, which has recently, when being turned on, powering up as normal by turning the light of the power button on and lighting the screen, then quickly shutting these off again, and then continuing to turn on as normal.It hasnt been doing this for very long, I have no idea whether it is a serious problem or not as I don't know anything about computers. I must add that I don't use my laptop with the battery in; I use it with the battery out as I mostly use it plug into the mains.

I attached all the seven forums info but if theres anything else you need let me know.EDIT - Ive been messing around with it a bit and it seems the the BSOD can appear when trying to go into sleep or hibernate mode. I keep getting BSOD when I try to put my 5 year old HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop in sleep mode, by either tapping the power button, or going through the start menu. This started happening a couple days ago, after Windows did an update.
I've done a system file check and it came up clean, and I also updated my video drivers, but to no avail. I don't really know where to go from here.
Recently when entering sleep mode, the laptop does not go to sleep but crashes. When I go to restart the laptop, I get the windows as recovered from an unexpected shut down.However I have noticed it does not crash, when I first turn the laptop on and at the choose user screen. Here it goes to sleep fine and resumes fine, any other situation and it crashes.

I have a Dell XPS M1530 which I installed Windows 7 Professional (SP1) x86 from MSDN.Most times when the laptop is going to sleep from a power management sleep after x minutes, or closing the lid, this happens:The system appears to hang. There's no hard disk activity and nothing recorded in the event viewer around that time.- The screen is black and doesn't wake up- Capslock/numlock don't light up when toggledAnd I have to hold the power button to turn the system off. When I turn it back on there's no evidence of a bugcheck or error in any of the system event logs.

I've looked through the Advanced Power Settings options and not found something that appeared to be an issue to me. It still auto wakes up with Allow wake timers set to Disable and When sharing media under Multimedia Settings set to Allow the computer to sleep.I also ran powercfg -lastwake in cmdafter an automatic wake up and these were the results:

I recently just got back into wow and thats when I noticed it happening. Im running a 590 gtx, i5-750, 8gb ddr3 ripjaw ram, p55-sli MB, Prosilencer 950watt psu. I didnt have this issue until wow, but even stopping wow it kills my frames. Dragging browser screens lags to. Im not sure what it is. Everything has been fully updated as well.
