Lately I have been having problems with my laptop. It freezes randomly. Most of the time it's when I want to shut down the computer it just says "shutting down" but it doesn't till I hold the power button. And when starting up it's stuck once in a while and every time I try to disconnect my wireless internet it just gets stuck and ctrl + alt + del doesn't work at all.
last night i was just minding my own business watching Internet videos, until my computer just randomly restart. the tower was still fully powered but the operating system restart, and now i can't boot up windows! every time i try to boot it up i get a black screen with a flashing _ at the top and it just stays there, i've tried booting up in safe mode but that doesn't work! i put good money into this computer and there's allot of important files on it for my school work on it, i'm using a friend's laptop until then.
I have a Samsung RF-711. Recently, whenever I shut down and boot later or when I shut the lid and boot later, it freezes. When I just shut the lid and hibernate, it freezes as soon as it is opened and must be reset by holding down the power. When it is shut down and rebooted it takes an extremely long time to restart.
My computer freezes many times when ill start it up and get to desktop. It wont take any commands after starting and ill have to shut it down by turning power off. It seems that when ill start my computer in safe mode and then ill restart and go back to normal mode it works normally. All these began after 2 latest updates.
Computer runs very slow. Computer freezes randomly. Does not want to boot past windows startup except for in safe mode(SOMETIMES). IF IT BOOTS takes and an incredibly long time to get to the desktop (20-45min). Does not want to run programs. Runs EXTREMELY slowly (makes a windows 95 pc look like a speed demon.) Random restarts, restart loops, and shutdowns. Sometimes after turning on it will immediately shut off then turn back on. Keeps recommending windows repair on startup. Wants to run chkdsk, then freezes on it.Malware detection programs. Hardware diagnostic programs. registry tools. disk defrags. Driver updates. Windows updates. BIOS update. System restore. Windows repair tool. Repair installation (twice). WINDOWS 7 CLEAN INSTALLATION (twice).Exactly the same as the first day it started happening. So not only did I lose all programs and files, but my pc still runs like crap. Also, this is a higher end pc under a year old. [code]
I just recently bought my computer, It's been only about 4 months. I spent about 3k on it. It has 16 gigs of ram, Asus motherboard, ATI firepro v7800 which is a $750 graphics card, liquid cooling for my processor and I have a 120 SSD. Since a week or so I've been noticing my computer do weird stuff like if I'm listening to music and doing some work with 3d softwares the sound randomly lags a bit for about 1-3 seconds. And sometimes it messes up my mouse cursor.I spent quite a bit of money on my computer and bought all the parts that were top of the line 4 months ago. I would expect a new computer worth 3k to work exceptionally well and not be slow or anything. Does any have any idea what might be causing this problem? Do you think a part might be deffective and is not working properly and so how would I test it to confirm?
Since last month my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) has been randomly freezing up for a long time. When it gets frozen, I get the busy icon (like a rotating circle) in place of my mouse pointer. I click anything nothing works, it completely freezes. I have a habbit of opening too many tabs (maybe more than 50-60 on 2-3 windows)on my chrome and firefox. So i used to think that it was happening because of that. So i stopped opening so many of them and started using IE and opens maximum upto 5 tabs at once. But the system still freezes. Sometimes when it freezes I leave the system as it is for about 20-30 mins then it comes back to normal again for few mins then restarts it to come back to normal. Many times, i did the forced shut down but when I start it again, the OS is still frozen; sometimes before logging in (i.e when WIN-7 starts) but most of the times, just after logging in (after entering the password and clicking the log in button). I tried the memory scan by Avast free AV but it showed no errors. I have MSE installed before I disabled it and started Avast. Also I got MalwareBytes Anti-malware installed. I ran full scans for all three but to no avail. Also my HDD (500GB) is 45% free so no issue in that area.
Also, when it freezes upon startup i sometimes see just a header of a window titled as SSCKbdHK.exe. Searched it and found that it is not a virus and just a Samsung keyboard process. Also earlier, sometimes when after 20-30mins, system comes back to normal state, after 1-2 flipping of screens an error which was something like "NVIDIA GeForce 310M driver ver 8.16.189.11 had encountered problems and had been restored back." I tried searching for drivers on OEM website and saw that this was the latest driver available there. but on Nvidia site, the latest driver is 301.42 (may 2012 release). Should i try installing it and check??
When i mean freeze i mean, completely freeze, im not able to access task manager, or move my mouse, or even turn on/off num lock, everything just freezes and i have to restart my computer by holding my power button down. I have recently reformatted my computer completely to try to fix the problem, but it still freezes. I have also ran memtest for 9 passes and had no errors, so im kind of out of options.
Recently my pc has started to freeze again, it did not short of a year ago untill i took it to peices and removed the dust from the mother board since then it's been fine.. Until about a week ago. i took it to peices to find no dust. I've tried everything. Whiping the computer, Updating drivers, re installing drivers. everything.
It usualy freezes alot when its first turned on, like not even getting past ''Windows is starting up''i leave it on freeze for a few hours then its working, It's like it just needs to warm up?..
I have a computer at home that is experiencing what are (to me) some strange symptoms. Whenever the computer is being used it sometimes randomly freezes or locks up. Occasionally these locks are temporary, and then the computer resumes function as normal. Other times however, the computer locks up until a hard reset (when it does this, the sound also begins an endless loop of the same sound although eventually it progresses into a different sound but still very choppy and looping).
This is a seriously annoying problem, since it is so random that we have to constantly be saving work on the computer so that we don't lose it. The computer is used for a home business, and is only used for Quickbooks, internet and internet radio. The occasional card program or some such, but never anything too intense.
The computer is an older HP. It has an Athlon processor and 2056mb of RAM. I purchased a new hard drive for and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I checked the hard drive with diagnostics and everything checks out. I ran Memtest for 24 hours and got 0 errors with the memory. I've also stressed the CPU with Prime 95 and have not experienced the issue. It seems to happen randomly and with 0 warning whatsoever. I am completely stumped as to what the problem could be. I'm hoping some of you have some advice for me.
ive been searching for a problem thats bothered me for quiet a while and i just cant seem to fix it, my problem is that when im using my computer it will randomly freeze whether im watching Internet videos, browsing the net or just playing games (starcraft 2, league of legends) ive reinstalled windows 7, ive tried updating my drivers but it just wont go away, so when it freezes it just stays at the screen it froze at and the sound is like looping and it does not go to a bluescreen or reboot i have to hold the power down.
My computer seems to be running fine and then it will suddenly shut down or freeze until I am forced to re-boot, does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you fix it,
just wondering how i would figure out whats up with my computer freezes that started happening like a week back. nothing new installed no viruses, did a defrag. i got windows 7 32bit and these freezes appear very random. from just staying on desktop, in game or even once on my windows error recovery screen from restarting after a freeze. dont believe its a heating issue and dunno why its happening all of a suddencpu: intel pentium dual core (oc 3.3)mobo: gigabyte g41m es2lram: 1x2gb ddr2 800vid card: nvidia 9800gt
this computer is working away for surveillance purposes. It has been crashing since installation, maybe once every two days. The computer does not restart neither shuts down. It justs freezes, and happened once when I was there. I tried to turn on the display but it acted like nothing was connected, so I could not see if there was a BSOD.I opened the Event Viewer and the last event I can see (for example this very last time, the computer froze at 04:29 AM), under "Error" category, it displays: The device, DeviceHarddisk0DR0 has a bad block. The error appears 3158 times, from 01:12 AM to the time of the crash.Do I have to replace the HDD or would it be something else? [code]
since one month or so my new built computer freezes randomly. it doesnt matter if i am browsing in the internet or playing online games..i analysed a memory.dump file using windows debugger. [code]
It freezes everytime i put it into sleep mode, and also when i reboot it. In sleep mode, the monitor turns off, but the computer continues to run (fans and lights are still on). I at first thought it was a PSU issue, but then it started to hang during games and it also freezes while booting the computer. The first time it froze mid-bios, then it froze a couple of times after the bios (when loading an OS), and it is now frozen on the windows boot screen (The logo and "Starting Windows").
Over the last couple of days my computer randomly freezes and i have to force reboot it happens at random. So I checked the event viewer and it said The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

my computer has been freezing and randomly restarting the last couple of days.
When it restarts sometimes it has to boot a couple of times, it seems as though it can' boot the BIOS, the bios splash screen is also different, this also changed 2 days ago. The first couple of times it froze, now it just restarts randomly. I suspect the motherboard.

My computer is an Alienware M11x R1 (yes yes, gripe all you want, I like them!) running Windows 7 Premium 64 bit. Okay so since the day I got my M11x it has been freezing randomly. No one could find the source of this problem, though I seem to have located it recently...
Whenever I have an external HDD plugged in my system will completely lock up randomly. Can't move the mouse or do anything, the last sound that was playing hangs (Ie. if a song was playing the song would go kind of "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-" continuously), and I have to shut it off by holding the power button. It can go for a week without locking up or it can lock up two times in a single day. It also does this with some random programs that it just doesn't seem to like very much.
I just went out and bought a new HDD to see if it was a compatibility problem (the old external I was using was fairly old) and it just froze up again while using the new one...
Recently in the past couple of weeks my computer has been freezing at random internals with absolutely no warning or prompting at all. It's not a case of me opening a specific program, or making it perform memory-intensive tasks -it will just completely freeze up out of the blue. This morning, all I did was turn it on and by the time I came back from making my cup of tea it had frozen itself. The other day I was typing a sentence onto a word document with no other programs open and it froze. The entire laptop becomes unresponsive -the capslock key doesn't respond, although interestingly enough my graphics tablet seemed to still be responsive (the lights would change colour like normal when I use my pen on it). The only option I have is to do a hard reboot.
This has been happening intermittently for the past couple of months (perhaps starting around June?), but it's only recently starting to get worse. Before it happened once a week, and now it's starting to happen about once a day. I've run a virus check, registry clean and deleted some of my most recently installed programs but neither of them have helped.
The computer runs fine otherwise -no excessive slowing down, no crashing programs..
So this has been happening ever since I got my computer. I took it in to see if a service could take a look at it and they ran a benchmark to get the usage to 100% for like 22 hours. Computer was still running fine he recommended me to get a UPS because it could be browning out but that solved nothing.
So what basically happens is that once a week or 3 times a day, it happens randomly, could be while playing a game or just browsing the web. What happens is that the monitor just freezes it is still on it is like a screenshot of my screen it stays still, cursor stops, audio stops, everything. The computer is still running fine it could be a failure in hardware but most likely not. It is not the monitor itself because it worked fine with the same monitor with my previous computer and I just got a new monitor last week.
I also noticed is if it happens once then it'll happen a few more times in a day then it'll stop for 1-2 days and start again, could just be a coincidence but I don't know...
When i play league of legend while using skype, my computer tend to freeze and stops functioning. This is a recent problem which has not happened before in the past.
i am currently unable to work on assignments on my own computer or enjoy games because it freezes completely sporadically requiring a hard boot. essentially the computer freezes on me and the keyboard becomes disabled and unresponsive. the mouse cursor on the screen slows down, like the sensitivity was turned down 95%, and moves sluggishly, and then i know the freeze is coming. the computer desktop freezes completely, the keyboard becomes disabled and sometimes the screen turns a faint transparent white depending on what application i am running. the cursor then turns into an animated hour glass that i can move around the screen totally normally, with no lag, but everything is unresponsive. i then need to do a hard boot and end up frusturated, tempted to through my computer at the wall.i've scanned the computer with at least 10 different reputable antivirus programs and i have repaired all the registry errors. i've uninstalled programs i no longer need and searched all over solutions, to no avail. [code] i looked at event viewer to try to see a log of the issue but the only error it reported was id 41, from the hard boot. when i'm on Internet and it locks up permanently, the Internet video continues to play.also the freezing is totally random and sometimes i can go for 5h without it happening, other times it freezes up within 10 minutes. usually it freezes up between 10-30 mins of system starting up.
After beening pestered to the point of no return I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 11. Now no matter what I do the computer keeps freezing. reimage scanning states that the list below have crashed recently.
1. Microsoft-Windows-capi2 2. Microsoft(c) Register Server 3. Windows Backup 4. System Restore
Crashes occur mostly with videos and games. I have updated all drivers, etc....

I am little bit worried about my harddrive. Previously I had 80 gb harddrive and then I upgraded it to 320 gb. I have dell latitude d630 laptop with two operating system. Windows 7 and XP. When I use Windows 7 then my computer specially hard drive light stays on and mouse is busy and I have to restart my laptop however in my XP this problem is never seen. I also installed vista and deep formatted the hard drive but the problem still persists in windows 7. The system is normal but when I surf internet via mozilla or chrome. This problem arises. I have done everytrouble shooting I can chkdsk and everything but when I use chkdsk in my western digital harddrive, it says error. I am thinking its harddrive issue what do u say?

I have 5 windows 7 machines on a windows 2008 domain. Only the windows 7 machines from time to time do not log off.You log off at night and come in the next day and it still says logging off on the screen the only thing to do is press the power button and shut down.
I was just sitting on my bed next to my computer when I saw something weird happen, my aero theme turned off and my CPU and GPU temps both started to rise. I saw my CPU temps getting higher than I normally see them go even while gaming so I reached over and wiggle my mouse around a little. My theme went back to aero and the temps went right back down to idle. Anyone know what this could have been? I'm extremely scared to leave my PC on when I leave the house now thinking that it might overheat.
my pc has been acting weird lately, it has began randomly crashing frequently. I turn it on and after 3 or so minutes of random activity it just freezes or gives me a blue screen error. Sometimes while playing BF3, it freezes.[CODE]
3-year-old ASUS laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. I recently went through a fresh install of Windows 7 due to a major driver corruption caused by a Windows Update. Since reinstalling, various programs seem to get stuck indefinitely and nothing I can do will close them. For clarity, I'll give an example of what usually happens:
1. Program locks up 2. I try to close it. Nothing happens. 3. I try to end the application in the Task Manager. Nothing happens. 4. I try to end the process and/or process tree in Task Manager. Nothing happens. 5. I try to shut down the computer. It hangs on the "Logging Off" screen indefinitely (let it sit overnight to test). 6. I end up manually powering down the computer.
When I restart, one of several things happens with no pattern I can find: A. It starts up normally. B. It starts up but very slowly (maybe 10 minutes to get fully booted). C. It hangs indefinitely at the Windows "flag" loading screen. D. I enter startup repair (usually after "C." happens) and either startup repair hangs indefinitely or (if it loads) it can find nothing wrong or can't fix the problem.
Offending programs have included Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, Open Office, Windows Explorer, iTunes, and Firefox, to name a few.
I use Avast! as my primary protection and it can find no problems. I've also run MalwareBytes with no success. Since it's a fresh install of Windows 7 (just a couple weeks old) and I haven't really done much downloading or exotic surfing, I have to think there's a deep-seated problem going on here. Please help before I go insane!
