May 22, 2011When i play league of legend while using skype, my computer tend to freeze and stops functioning. This is a recent problem which has not happened before in the past.

Computer Freezes And BSOD When Gaming + Random Times?
Jul 6, 2012I recently changed the cabinet of my computer and since then I've been getting freezes and BSODS, when it freezes it just gets stuck at whatever I'm doing and makes a buzzing noise through the speakers. I haven't had time to read the error codes when I get the BSODS, it reboots to fast. The freezes/BSODS appear to happen more frequently when gaming, but it also occurs when I'm just browsing. have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and have tried reinstalling it but it didn't help.

Apr 6, 2012my computer has been freezing and randomly restarting the last couple of days.
When it restarts sometimes it has to boot a couple of times, it seems as though it can' boot the BIOS, the bios splash screen is also different, this also changed 2 days ago. The first couple of times it froze, now it just restarts randomly. I suspect the motherboard.

Display And Machine Randomly Freezes (No Error Messages Or BSOD)
Jun 28, 2012I am experiencing issues with my ASUS graphics card and my Intel HD display driver. Whenever I am playing a videogame or doing something that is graphics intensive, my display freezes and I either have to reboot my machine or sometimes the display unfreezes and I am allowed to resume my activities. I originally had graphics driver 295.73, but I upgraded to version 296.10 when it came out. I still had the same issue when I upgraded my driver so I rolled back to version 295.73. I kept bouncing back and forth between the two drivers and I even tried going into safe mode to install the drivers. Twice while I was using AutoCAD and playing a videogame, the display became distorted and showed pixelated colors.
I installed the 301.24 driver when it came out on May 22nd, but the problem occurred again while I was playing a game and while I was in AutoCAD. In the rare instances that my display froze and unfroze, I received a windows notification from the windows event log stating that my driver 295.73, 296.10, or 301.24 failed. I have performed numerous diagnostics and stress tests using Ultimate Boot CD. My memory tests have checked out fine and so have my hdd and ssd tests. The only thing that sticks out is that my southbridge temperature, my CPUTIN according to HWMonitor, is at a constant 60 degrees. It never changes or fluctuates.

SEQUENCE OF SYMPTOMS: First application I am on freezes, cursor is waiting (cursor freezes and resumes, then freezes again). Windows Explorer freezes as well (turning white and then disappearing to only desktop wallpaper). All application closes as if it were restarting. Error windows pop up for applications, such as C++, security programs, browsers...

Jul 15, 2012My PC is freezing randomly. There appears to be no pattern to this. The cursor freezes and the screen does not alter - no BSOD. No response from keyboard or mouse and requires a hard reboot.
I thought it may be when it was trying to go into sleep mode, so I disabled this and only allowed to hibernate. However, it is still crashing. I have checked memory by switching memory to different sockets and also going to single channel (2 2GB sticks). I have replaced ageing video card. I have been forced through chkdsk and not found errors on disks.

Nov 12, 2012Did a new install....updated win 7, updated and a clean install of GPU drivers, updated all other drivers.Only software loaded as yet is MSoffice 2010....updated and Norton. No overclocking as yet and the system randomly either freezes or I get a BSOD.

Jan 5, 2012I did my first build a while ago but kept getting the Blue Screen of Death. I got a tech guy in to look at how I built it, do mem tests and hard drive tests and he said that the motherboard must be faulty. I then sent the motherboard back and they gave me a replacement.I now have put it back together and am STILL getting BSOD's or my screen just freezes. It can run for quite a while without crashing if I am just using facebook or just cruising the web but when I start using skype or play games or have a few different programs open it is more likely to crash. However it does crash even when I am just using Chrome.

Jul 27, 2012Unfortunately sometimes it does not actually BSOD so no dump is recorded, however by luck i saved one to documents a few days ago and i put that in a folder entitled "olddump". After interrogating that one and the two that followed (unfortunately those ones are lost) i believe the error has something to do with ntoskrnl.exe something about symbols not found,I first started getting errors whilst playing battlefield 3, i can usually play bf3 reasonably with no lag, get the odd crash but these ones were different and ended up in a restart or bsod, the problem is and why i am so sketchy is the errors occurred extremely randomly, and sometimes after extended periods of gametime.It wasnt too much of an issue and i didnt give it much thought until i tried to play the guild wars 2 beta weekend, then i was hit with almost constant BSOD 1 or 2 minutes into getting in, this one was alot easier to pinpoint and after a few restarts i worked out it was FRAPS that was causing the problems, i disabled and it worked fine.In between this i was playing Age of Empires 3 on-line with no problems at all.When the BWE3 finished i gave my computer a spring clean, clearing out all dust, getting rid of all the "crap" i didnt need, removed all my old fraps videos and gave it a defrag, disk cleanup, full virus scan, i defiantly noticed the difference.I began playing Empire Total War and i received a number of BSOD, also some crashes which froze my computer and what i can only describe as gave a "blind" effect on the screen, the sound turned into a "hum"?I had a previous problem like this with my RAM so i did a memtest, it detected no errors at all. I have 1 stick of DDR3 RAM 4GB which i am unable to change at present.Last night i did every scan i possibly could, i ran a chkdsk, defrag, sfc scan, full virus scan, registry clean.. yet when i get back into Empire Total War this afternoon exactly the same thing although this time it just shut down.I have been monitoring temperatures at idle for the past week now and the temps rarely go above 42 idle and are quite consistent (GPU stays under 40), as i say fans are cleared of dust and can confirm they are all spinning.I think it is graphical related simply because it only happens when i play video games although the "ntoskrnl.exe" i got from the dump file makes me think it may be some NT coding, i am really not sure?Over the period of the errors i have done the following;
- updated my graphic card to the latest drivers
- carried out various scans/cleanups
- searched google to try and find what is wrong with limited success
- i have even tried gently shaking my desk incase something was loose or faulty
- removed/put back different USB (printer etc.) to see if that made a difference
I did notice whilst playing movies from DVD, it would freeze at specific points, no big deal but it froze my whole computer for a good 5 minutes when i tried to move on, maybe related maybe not.Things i am unable to do
- Buy/change hardware , unfortunately this is not possible at present although i am looking at purchasing more RAM.
Things i am unwilling to do
- Windows reinstall, i really would like to keep this as a last last resort, simply because the amount i would have to backup, i really dont have the time or patience although if it is the only option then i will obviously consider it.
Things i am going to try
- another ckhdsk, i did one but not sure i did it correctly, i tried to do one while posting this but had to exit it due to lagging my pc
- paying different games to really isolate the issue
- get another BSOD so i can grab the newest minidump

Mar 25, 2012Computer runs very slow. Computer freezes randomly. Does not want to boot past windows startup except for in safe mode(SOMETIMES). IF IT BOOTS takes and an incredibly long time to get to the desktop (20-45min). Does not want to run programs. Runs EXTREMELY slowly (makes a windows 95 pc look like a speed demon.) Random restarts, restart loops, and shutdowns. Sometimes after turning on it will immediately shut off then turn back on. Keeps recommending windows repair on startup. Wants to run chkdsk, then freezes on it.Malware detection programs. Hardware diagnostic programs. registry tools. disk defrags. Driver updates. Windows updates. BIOS update. System restore. Windows repair tool. Repair installation (twice). WINDOWS 7 CLEAN INSTALLATION (twice).Exactly the same as the first day it started happening. So not only did I lose all programs and files, but my pc still runs like crap. Also, this is a higher end pc under a year old. [code]

Jul 13, 2011I just recently bought my computer, It's been only about 4 months. I spent about 3k on it. It has 16 gigs of ram, Asus motherboard, ATI firepro v7800 which is a $750 graphics card, liquid cooling for my processor and I have a 120 SSD. Since a week or so I've been noticing my computer do weird stuff like if I'm listening to music and doing some work with 3d softwares the sound randomly lags a bit for about 1-3 seconds. And sometimes it messes up my mouse cursor.I spent quite a bit of money on my computer and bought all the parts that were top of the line 4 months ago. I would expect a new computer worth 3k to work exceptionally well and not be slow or anything. Does any have any idea what might be causing this problem? Do you think a part might be deffective and is not working properly and so how would I test it to confirm?

Jun 28, 2012Since last month my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) has been randomly freezing up for a long time. When it gets frozen, I get the busy icon (like a rotating circle) in place of my mouse pointer. I click anything nothing works, it completely freezes. I have a habbit of opening too many tabs (maybe more than 50-60 on 2-3 windows)on my chrome and firefox. So i used to think that it was happening because of that. So i stopped opening so many of them and started using IE and opens maximum upto 5 tabs at once. But the system still freezes. Sometimes when it freezes I leave the system as it is for about 20-30 mins then it comes back to normal again for few mins then restarts it to come back to normal. Many times, i did the forced shut down but when I start it again, the OS is still frozen; sometimes before logging in (i.e when WIN-7 starts) but most of the times, just after logging in (after entering the password and clicking the log in button). I tried the memory scan by Avast free AV but it showed no errors. I have MSE installed before I disabled it and started Avast. Also I got MalwareBytes Anti-malware installed. I ran full scans for all three but to no avail. Also my HDD (500GB) is 45% free so no issue in that area.
Also, when it freezes upon startup i sometimes see just a header of a window titled as SSCKbdHK.exe. Searched it and found that it is not a virus and just a Samsung keyboard process. Also earlier, sometimes when after 20-30mins, system comes back to normal state, after 1-2 flipping of screens an error which was something like "NVIDIA GeForce 310M driver ver 8.16.189.11 had encountered problems and had been restored back." I tried searching for drivers on OEM website and saw that this was the latest driver available there. but on Nvidia site, the latest driver is 301.42 (may 2012 release). Should i try installing it and check??
My Computer Freezes Randomly
Jan 9, 2011When i mean freeze i mean, completely freeze, im not able to access task manager, or move my mouse, or even turn on/off num lock, everything just freezes and i have to restart my computer by holding my power button down. I have recently reformatted my computer completely to try to fix the problem, but it still freezes. I have also ran memtest for 9 passes and had no errors, so im kind of out of options.

Computer Randomly Freezes
Mar 3, 2010I have a computer at home that is experiencing what are (to me) some strange symptoms. Whenever the computer is being used it sometimes randomly freezes or locks up. Occasionally these locks are temporary, and then the computer resumes function as normal. Other times however, the computer locks up until a hard reset (when it does this, the sound also begins an endless loop of the same sound although eventually it progresses into a different sound but still very choppy and looping).
This is a seriously annoying problem, since it is so random that we have to constantly be saving work on the computer so that we don't lose it. The computer is used for a home business, and is only used for Quickbooks, internet and internet radio. The occasional card program or some such, but never anything too intense.
The computer is an older HP. It has an Athlon processor and 2056mb of RAM. I purchased a new hard drive for and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I checked the hard drive with diagnostics and everything checks out. I ran Memtest for 24 hours and got 0 errors with the memory. I've also stressed the CPU with Prime 95 and have not experienced the issue. It seems to happen randomly and with 0 warning whatsoever. I am completely stumped as to what the problem could be. I'm hoping some of you have some advice for me.
[BSOD] Computer Crashes When Gaming?
Aug 5, 2012A couple of days ago I did something really stupid: I tried to download a game for free by following a tutorial which required me to install a Babylon toolbar from an ad. It didn't work, so I uninstalled all the babylon stuff and scanned my computer with Avira and Ad-aware, they came up with some detections and a hidden object and removed them.After that, I bought the game instead of downloading. However, my computer now randomly freezes when playing and seems slightly slower than before. As long as I'm not gaming, my computer functions normally, but starting the game makes my computer freeze and BSOD every 2 out of 3 times. Also my computer doesn't seem to make any minidumps, even after enabling it via those settings and trying tons of other ways.

I had League of Legends up in the background, and I was surfing on Firefox when my mouse cursor...changed. It looks glitchy, becoming white/multicolored lines and looking fuzzy. Sep 11, 2012This has been going on for a while now. I replaced my motherboard and a bad hard drive. I run off an SSD (samsung 830) as my boot drive with a 1 TB hard drive for storage. I ran memtest multiple times with no errors. Could this be a failing PSU?The debug info in WhoCrashed said this was not a hardware issue but most likely a driver.I uninstalled all the audio drivers except the one I used just in case. I reverted all my overclocking for the CPU and ram back to default.

Most of the time it's when I want to shut down the computer it just says "shutting down" but it doesn't till I hold the power button. I did a clean install to change from Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium to 64 bit Home Premium and still freezes randomly. Sometimes it will go a long time before it freezes. I have a NVIDEA Ge Force 8400 GS and I did install the 64 it drivers. I ran Malewarebytes and no problems there. The windows update that will not install is a Graphic Adapter WDD M1, WDD M2.
