View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad T530 laptop that's about four months old. I had a key pop off and Lenovo shipped me a new keyboard, so I replaced it myself. Since then, I've had issues where every 20-30 minutes, the left click will start clicking on its own (the key is not stuck, it is not a physical hardware issue).Obviously, I figured that the problem came from the new keyboard (since I had the computer for three months with no problem before I replaced the keyboard). So I took the keyboard out, cleaned the inside of the computer and the pin connections with some compressed air, checked to make sure there wasn't any visible damage (nothing crushed, bent, or missing as far I can tell) and then put it all back together again. No luck, the problem persists. Just in case it isn't keyboard-related (doubtful) I am running a full system virus scan using MSE as I'm typing this, but I really think that there's something wrong with this keyboard. I uninstalled and reinstalled the PS/2 keyboard drivers and Synaptic touchpad drivers, to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I click on a object (a file, hyper link, for example), or if I highlight text, when I left go of the left mouse button, it doesn't let go. So if I move my mouse around, it will continue to highlight wherever my mouse goes until I left click again. This never happened until a few months ago on any Windows computer I ever used that I can recall.
This was originally happening on a Windows 7 Home Premium computer, and then I switched to a Windows 7 Professional computer last week and I experienced the same problem. I thought it would be my mouse, so this weekend I bought a brand new mouse, but the problem continues to occur.

I've been having a problem where my mice (I've tried several) don't click (left or right) when I'm holding an alphanumeric key down. For example, I'm playing a video game where I need to move (w,a,s,d) and click at the same time, but am unable to. I am able to click while holding down shift or click. Also, how would I go about updating the mouse drivers? I downloaded a zip file from dynex for my DX-WMSE (model) mouse.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSingle mouse clicks become double, triple, or even quadruple clicks. I have tried going into Control Panel > Mouse > Double Click Speed and repeatedly changed the slider from fastest to slowest and vice versa without satisfaction. When trying to simply move a window by dragging it to a new location the window will suddenly jump up to take up the entire screen, even when I don't want it to.
View 2 Replies View Relatedit now rapidly left clicks stuff and will not let me left click for a couple of seconds. it also randomly highlights. it's been doing this for about 2 weeks now. i've tried changing the usb ports for the mouse, also switched between 2.0 and 3.0. i've tried screwing around with the dpi, all kinda stuff, nothing works. it's a razor naga, also i can upload a video to Internet of what the mouse is doing. it's really annoying because i play starcraft and fpss professionally and not being able to left click sometimes really really fucks me up.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhaving migrated from XP to W7 (never experienced Vista). Quite frequently I encounter a problem with the mouse, in which it fails to (a) bring the auto-hidden taskbar into view, and (b) properly select functions normally controlled by button clicks. Problem arises once or twice a day on average. As background info, the computer is in use pretty well all day everyday, mainly for work. I work freelance at home as an electronic designer. Being technical, I understand computers to a fair degree, from both hardware and software PoV, though I don't design things that work directly in conjunction with computers. I'm mainly concerned with embedded systems, both hardware and low-level software, and I don't write programs for running on computers (programming skill is confined to assembly language and embedded C).As a typical example, I suddenly find I can't bring the taskbar into view by moving the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen, in order to switch from a Word document I've been working on to find another document in Windows Explorer. So I use Alt-tab to switch to Explorer. But if I now open a new document (eg a pdf), I then have to use Alt-tab to return to the Word document. However usually that isn't all that goes wrong, as I now find that clicking on something in the word document toolbar (eg to go from 'Home' tab in MS Word to the 'Insert' tab) doesn't work. All that happens is that Word goes out of keyboard 'focus' - the blue background to the toolbar goes grey, and I can't type anything. I then have to use Alt-tab to re-select MS Word (cycling through all the open windows) to bring MS Word back into focus. Since I can't use the mouse for selecting, I have to press Alt, then tab or arrow key to step through all the toolbar buttons and options till the one I want is selected, then press Enter on the keyboard. In other words, I'm reduced to keyboard-only mode.
Sometimes I can get out of this situation by closing one or more windows I don't currently need (by Alt-tabbing to bring up a window, then pressing Alt-F4 to close it). In extreme cases this won't cure the problem, and it remains in keyboard-only mode even with only one application open. The only thing I can do then is to close everything, switch off and reboot - even Restart is not enough, I actually have to switch off and on again.Has anyone else observed this behaviour with W7 or is it just my computer? I don't think it's a problem with the mouse itself: the cursor always moves around the screen normally, and I do get a response by clicking on a button. It's just that the response is wrong, it simply takes the whole application window out of focus so clicking no longer does anything in that window.
my Synaptics touchpad mouse has had a mind of its own. It has been clicking and opening files without me pressing the mouse buttons or tapping the touchpad, scrolling by itself, highlighting and moving the files on my desktop and in my computer, etc.I have tried everything from physically cleaning the Touchpad thoroughly, updating the Synaptics driver time and time again only to find no resolution to this issue, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled previous versions of the synaptics drivers that worked before with my laptop only to be confronted with this same problem.I have ran scans on both Uni-blue registry booster and PC Tools Spyware Doctor (which I use as my registry and anti-virus/spyware programs) and of which I update on a daily/weekly basis and yet I have found no traces of what may be causing my mouse to act so crazy.I have also ran the system scan in the command prompt which was suggested earlier in this thread only to find out that everything was running properly and at 100% integrity.
I have an HP dv7-3065dx Entertainment Notebook [pavilion dv7 is the product name on the back] that I purchased from Best buy in 2010. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit that was pre-installed onto my laptop. I have been pretty thorough on keeping all of my Microsoft and HP drivers up to date and have only began to experience this problem with my touchpad earlier this month. As far as the programs that I use on a daily basis; I mostly use Mozilla Firefox as a web browser and Microsoft Word for my schoolwork and the GOM media player for watching videos. None of which I have been able to do properly since this issue established itself onto my computer.
When a sound plays on the computer, it makes a funny clicking noise at the end of it almost like it has got stuck- The problem can be temporary solved by changing the audio settings but when you log off and back on the problem still persists.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYou normally left click to access something on the internet but all of the sudden my computer won't do that. View 3 Replies View RelatedUsually when using an internet browser (firefox or internet explorer) and windows explorer windows, I try to click to switch tabs and it doesn't respond. It shows (Not Responding) for a split second and won't switch tabs. I end up having to click a whole bunch of times before it switches.
This same kind of thing happens with explorer windows when trying to restore them from the minimized state. It just won't respond and multiple clicks are needed before seeing any action. This has been happening for awhile now but I figure it just may be another bug
my mouse wont click, but it still seems to move. This also applies with the Trac-Pad.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the same problem with my Windows 7 PC and a Logitech trackball. This seemed to start with the most recent Windows updates for Window 7. I doubt that Microsoft gives a crap about our problem.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi've been having a problem with my mouse, it clicks just once in a while, and, sometimes, it gets better with one window (program) but when I change to another program or desktop, it stops clicking again. It begun out of nowhere about 3 days ago. I run my pc on windows 7, I tried changing the usb port, the mouse and it doesn't work. What does help is doing a ctrl+alt+del, starting task manager and returning to windows, then, I can click on a single program and it begins to work (the mouse clicks) with it. Typing alt+tab also helps sometimes.
My xbox controller and keyboard are functioning normally. I recently updated my kaspersky to the latest version, but I tried deactivating it but I had no luck with the mouse. I'm thinking about returning to a previous kaspersky version, first, then, if that doesn't help, reinstalling the windows.
Ah, another thing that might help: i have windows vista on the same PC, same HD and, when I logged in it to see if the problem persisted, gess what, yes, the same mouse problem. That made me think of a hardware problem, but on all usb ports is odd. Can anyone help?
I installed Windows 7 a few months ago, everything was working fine until a few days.
A while after the computer is on, i want to click anymore neither with my touch pad nor with my external usb mouse....
The cursor moves normally but left click and right click won't work. if i do CTRL ALT DEL and cancel it works again for a while and then starts again.
The weird part, is it's not alway for the whole screen, sometimes i cannot click windows, sometimes i cannot click the tasl bar, sometimes both...
I really can't seem to find an answer to this problem, i've been thinking it might be a problem of screen refresh as the CTRL ALT DEL solves it for a few minutes, but I'm not sure... Can someone here help me please?
I can nove the cursor with the mouse, but multiple clicks will not fix a location so I can start typing

As i was typing in MS Word in the middle of a sentence when i clicked the space bar the pc acted as if i right clicked on my mouse. I ran CCleaner it did not help. I uninstalled the usb drivers for the keyboard and mouse using USBDeview that didnt help either. I uninstalled naturally dragon 11 because it was the last install i did before i noticed

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy netbook, running windows 7 starter, no longer allows me to right click. Not in programs, not in folders, not on the desktop. I was using a USB mouse (which I tested on another mechine, the right click works fine there, so its not the mouse). After this problem started I tried a second usb mouse and the right-click on the built-in touch pad mouse. None of them worked. I have tried rebooting, I tried updating the drivers on my USB mouse. I havn't tried a system restor, hoping someone might know a fix that avoids that route.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled the Interactual and Sonic Cineplayer software because that interfered with Windows Media Player and Power DVD v7.
I set my autoplay option for the DVD drive to "Always ask" for a DVD movie.
When I insert a DVD movie I get the autoplay option for WMP or PowerDVD.
Now everything works except for one quirk.
If I insert a DVD MOVIE, cancel the autoplay option and then simply mouse click on the DVD drive I get:
"Windows cannot access the specified device. path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Any other type of DVD/CD works fine. IT IS JUST DVD MOVIES.
I think Interactual, which want to own the DVD drive, left some registry entry whereby it tries to re-install itsellf (I REALLY hate that software).
1) Any ideas as to what the POC Interactual software left behind an how to clean it?
2) Also, why, oh why, can't the Windows error message INCLUDE the "device, path, or file" NAME in the error message? (Pet Peeve #1) Are you listening Redmond?
I seem to remember that there was a setting that I could change to prevent a drop-down from appearing whenever I clicked on an icon. Now I am presented with a drop-down that has "OPEN' as it's top item.

I was just wondering if there is a hotkey to either focus on/make active what the mouse is over or just to left click. this would be useful for me sometimes and i'm sure it is possible. I haven't seen this on any hotkey lists around though.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Windows Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Everything was fine and I liked it. Then it stopped registering the clicks from my mouse. I rebooted and it was back to normal. After a while it stopped again and I've been fighting with it ever since. It works about 1 out of every 15 reboots. I've tried rebooting with the dvd for windows repair, nothing. I removed wireless USB card and switched to ethernet connection, worked for a minute until next reboot. I've reinstalled windows (haven't formatted yet) to no avail.
I've tried and tried to contact windows for support, but can't find a phone number. When I try to go through the steps on their site, it says that my product ID isn't good for this country, yet I bought it at Best Buy here in Louisiana, and they want to charge me $50 to talk to me!! I'm fit to be tied!!
The one thing different that I did was, when I initially upgraded, I disconnected my backup drive since I didn't have anywhere else to back it up. I re-connected it once everything was reinstalled. For the life of me I can't seem to figure this out. If I have to format everything I will. I about to that point right now.
I've been having the problem of mouse/touch pad being able to move but somehow, i just can't click on anything with my laptop a few days ago. It just feels like everything is in the "not responding" state when using the mouse and also the touch pad but then everything seems just fine when I use my keyboard to operate them. I've tried formatting my laptop myself and also sent it to a shop to do it, but nothing has changed And also, ever since this problem occur, my laptop seems to be slowing down no matter is shutting it down or running a program.
