I have been through these two links below MS Office Word : Set Default Save Location Library - Set Save Folder If I want to change a default saved location folder for any of those file's types : Excel, adobe , jpg, access, email attachment , ,,,,,etc Do I need to repeat the procedure explained in the above two links for each individual file type?

Is there any way to set the default save location folder for downloads in IE8 to the last folder that the same file type was saved in? It makes no sense to default to a single folder and have to browse through to the desired folder for every single download, so I assume there has to be an option somewhere.

Edit. Doh. I managed to stumble around in the settings menu morass and
found the section I needed for changing to another drive.
I still hate MCE. I want my Beyond TV back.

My D: drive is much larger than my C: - I have 350 GB on my D: drive, but whenever I download or save something - and many times it's done automatically - it wants to save to my C: drive, which is almost out of space. I wind up having to manually move over files from C to D before I can even save something in order to free up space. View 5 Replies View RelatedPrevious versions of Windows had a "sticky" default file "save as" subdirectory. e.g. when saving a group of photos from an email to a particular subdirectory you only had to point to that subdir in the first save. subsequent saves would by default go to that same subdir. In Win 7, everytime I do a "save as" for a picture (jpg, bmp, etc.) the default subdir is the PICTURE LIBRARY subdir. Is there a way to make Win7 remember the last subdir saved to so that you don't have to drill down through multiple subdir to get to the last subdir you accessed?

During this time I had that password I did use windows' system image utility to backup my old 500GB drive to restore it on a 1TB drive and I did that while I had this password.Now, when I try to change the password it will not save the change. When I change it, I can logout and it will accept the NEW password, but once I reboot or shut down and it comes back up, it only accepts the OLD password.

I want to save the Default Gateways in Advance TCP/IP Settings for my network adapter. I used the following sequence to set the values:
1. Open Adapter Settings (LAN Properties).
2. Select IPv4 and click on Properties.
3. Click Advance.
4. In the Popup select to add Default Gateways for both my Wired and Wireless network.
5. Click OK to close all open windows.
When I again open the settings, the changes in Default Gateways are all gone. The default gateway for both my wired and wireless network are same and both are connected to internet. I want to prefer wired over wireless whenever it is connected. I already tried changing Interface Metrics with no use at all. I searched the internet and got the information to select the default gateways with proper metrics.
I don't remember What I did to get it like this but I've so many things and none seem to work. why my folder icons look like that.

For example I can in include any folder in the save list for most applications. This works for microsoft Word, IE etc. However some applications like Adobe reader and a few others do not have my favourite folders when I go to save. They just have the basic: Recentplaces/Desktop/Libraties/Computer/Network. After that, i cannot click ''OK'', it will not work,respond or anything...neither will cancel, I HAVE to hit the X which kills al my actions...also it will jump straight back to my last used theme if i click OK....so it wont ''OK'' but it does jump back to my last saved theme...very wierd...I have this with any theme downlaoded or not makes no difference, also weird is that the screen shows tearing or something when i scroll up and down!

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout 2 days ago I noticed that all of a sudden my scroll and progress bars, and all of the prompt windows (save, open file, etc.) changed to a Windows 98 style! I didn't think anything of it until I tried to save an image through Firefox and it wouldn't bring up the prompt to choose a location. Initially I thought it to be exclusive to Firefox, but later I had worked on an Word document and when I tried to Save As... the exact same thing, a flash indicating that it tried to open the location window and that's it. Every program does the exact same thing, no way to bring up a location menu or change directory.
