View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a home network setup with 4 computers - 3 working computers and the 4th serving as a file server. One of these 3 working computers is a new one - i7, 920 with 6 Gb DDR3 1333 RAM and runs Windows XP Professional 64 bit OS (to be shortly replaced with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS - once I get my disc from Microsoft). All the other PC's run 32 bit Windows XP Professioal SP 3.
I have connected a Canon i560 to one of the working computers running 32 bit Windows XP Professional for a specific reason. Installation this printer as a sharetd printer on this computer was no problem using the accompanying CD. I am able to install the driver for this printer 2 of the other computers running 32 bit Windows XP Professional and hence I am able to print on this printer from any of those printers. So far so good.
The problem however is that when I try and install this printer on my new computer, it says that the driver is not compatible. I search the net for a 64 bit driver, and I did find one for Vista (its a zip file - 20mb) and it unzips and installs the Canon Easy Photo Print utility but I cannot (or do not know) how to use this as the driver for this printer.
Does anyone know how can I get this shared Canon i560 printer to be connected to this new PC of mine running 64 bit Windows XP Professional (soon to be replaced with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS)? The concern is that if I am having difficutly finding a driver for Windows XP Professiona 64 bit for this printer, can I expect the same difficulty in finding a driver for Windows 7 Professiona 64 bit for this printer too?
P.S. Surprisingly, I am able to connect to my new computer an even older Canon LBP660 printer locally connected to my file server computer using its driver for Windows 2000! Could physical distance be an issue?

I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip

Can't get CANON BJC 210 to print from XP MODE. Everything goes to PRINT QUEUE, and there appears no connection or communication with the LPT port. Windows print troubleshooting no help, and even printing attempts from command prompt results in nothing happening. Printer responds normally to beeps from holding down the power button, but nothing from print tests or commands from the computer.XP MODE works fine otherwise.I've made sure printer is online and tried unplugging and plugging back in the power supply several times.This particular printer model won't install in WIN 7, but worked perfectly in WIN XP prior to upgrade. Also careful to inactivate the USB option during installation with updated driver.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have 3 desktop..two PC is having a win7 32bit and the other one is 64bit..i install the printer LX-300+II(dot matrix) on the 64bit win7...then of course the three desktop is on a network...the 32bit win7 is the admin..then the 64bit win7 and the 32bit admin can print on the dot matrix..but the other 32bit cannot..both of those 3 desktop are shared..workgroup name is same..sharing properties is same for both 32bit..and both 32bit can connect to the printer and can detect..when i tried to print its just qeue and comes with the word "spooling"..but when i tried printing on a laser printer it prints..but on the dot matrix it cannot print...
ways i tried:
1.check the port/ethernet the UTP cables plug out plug in and wait like around 20 secs. then connect again.
2.reinstall the driver on the 32bit that doesnt print.
3.remove device then add printer again.
4.did a windows update.
5.check if same workgroup.
6.check if shared and with same location and can access both 3 desktop.
7.check the permissions.
8.restart the computer.
9.troubleshooting the printer.
10.make sure there's a network connection.
IP address doesn't have because its a USB port and not suported by the OS..3 desktop on a network...two 32bit win7 one win7 64bit.32bit and 64 bit can print on the dot matrix and laser printer but the other 32bit cannot print on the matrix but can print on the laser..when printing its just qeue with spooling..
I got a new computer powered by Windows 7 which was upgraded to Win 7 Pro. I have it attached to a Xerox Phaser 8400 printer. The printer will not print in color when i use the word pad or Print Master software. It's own self test it prints color so I assume there is a setting I can't find.

Everything was going fine with setting up until it came to printers.I have 3 printers connected - Brother HL2030 laser, HP Photosmart D6160 and Epson Stylus photo R2400 - and NONE of them will work. Computer #2 Sucessfully installed networked printer and prints normally when Computer #1 is booted to XP. When computer #1 is booted to Windows 7 it automatically detects and installs networked printer once network was correctly setup but gets error message when trying to print.
