I attempted to install office 2010 and an error occured during the installation process. Long story short, I noticed it left a folder titled MSBuild and I'm sure some other things on my computer. I was wondering what is the best way to ensure that all traces of office 2010 are removed from my computer?
For personal security reasons (two words: online poker,) I have embarked on a mission to make sure that there is 100% (or close to it..) certainty that no one can check or find out what applications were used and accessed on my computerother places / files might be checked in Windows 7 to check user / software activity, so I can deal with it accordingly! Encrypted operating system (True Crypt)Paging file removed and not beingsavedHibernation file removed and hibernation disabledDeleting MUI cacheDeleting prefetch filesUsing a .bat file that completely deletes ALL Windows 7 event logsTurning off memory dump fileDisabled and deleted windows restore pointsUsing CCleaner at the end of every sessionUsing Temporary File Cleaner after every sessionWiping free space (Gutman 35 passes) on my hard drive every few daysStuff like firewall/antivirus/anti-spyware/anti-malware/sandboxie I don't even mention because these are obvious. Now I need to make this clear: privacy is the most important thing for me in this case, so I am willing to sacrifice a lot of performance for it.
I have a problem with my laptop when trying to re-install Office 2013 preview edition - basically the initial install failed for some reason and can I can neither remove or install this software leaving me in some sort of Microsoft limbo.Someone I know suggested logging onto the "my account" section of the Microsoft site and actually deactivating the install however that has not solved the problem?CCleaner has also been run to try and remove any redundant registry entries however again that has not solved my problem.
In trying to get a solid grasp on PerfMon features, we were wondering what the best use of "event traces" would be and what is the info that it provides.
I have installed 7 RC fine and now I want to remove an old bloated install of XP from my hard drive. Simply trying to format the XP partition from inside 7 or using the Windows hard disk management tool to delete the partition doesn't work so how can I do this.I have 2 physical hard drives: 1 for the OS partitioned in 2 - 1 for XP and 1 for 7, and a separate physical drive for data.So basically how do I make my OS drive 1 partition with just 7 on it.
I have bought a Bluetooth keyboard for my PC (running a Windows 7 64bit OS) and while I am able to successfully install and pair the device, I find that each time I either switch off the device (or PC) and switch either back on again I cannot re-establish the connection unless I remove the device and re-install and pair it once more? Surely it isn't necessary to have to follow this procedure every time I wish to use it...or is it?
i recently installed the ubuntu server but i raelly needed a cloud so now my whole system is gone but i have a windows 7 installion disk so when i install it it takes me to the partitions and it has "disk 0 partition sz 235mb (System) and the other disk partition is sz 235gb (logical) and i cant make a new or format them and i dont want to try to delete them?
Some might remember I posted a few days ago about installing Windows 7 (64bit) separately on this same comp (different hard drive) to test what drivers worked for the devices I had, in particular the Canon scanner.
Anyway it worked, and I booted into Windows 7 64b fine - but I had a few issues getting back into 32-bit one (64bit one became the active boot. even after i used diskpart and bcdedit etc.
Anyway, I got the 32-bit install to again load as the default (and deleted the 64-bit partition). BUT, I keep getting the Vista booting screen - i.e. the small green loading bar instead of the elaborate "Starting Windows'. I then put in the Windows 7 dvd in and went to repair the install (to try & get the Windows 7 boot screen back), but it wouldnt even find the OS install to repair it.
So basically, its back to the 32bit Windows 7 install fine - but with the older Vista loading screen. Any ideas?
Recently i bought a windows7 Ultimate, and i want to install it on my laptop. , my laptop working with vista. My hard disk drive has two partitions. one is OS(C: ) and another is called Recovery(D: ).my question is: How can i remove Recovery driver (which is related to vista) and install a completely new Windows 7 on my laptop?
When I want to install windows office 2010 x64 it gives me error "you cannot install the 64-bit version of the office 2010 because you have 32-bit office products installed".he 32-bit office product which is installed in my computer is "Compatibility Pack for the 2007 office system" that is KB940289. I uninstalled every piece of Microsoft Office 2007 but I can't uninstall KB940289. I tried all the 3 Microsoft fix this installer clear utility but It cannot uninstall KB940289. Unless the KB940289 is uninstalled it won't let me install Windows office 2010.I don't want to format my computer just for removing KB940289. Do you guys have any idea how to remove it?
I am attempting to uninstall (and then reinstall) Office 2010 Prof Plus. I am not able to remove it from Add/Remove programs, have read through some help info and attempted to use the Windows Fixit, Revo & Ripoutoffice2007, none of which have removed it (Revo didn't take it out and then pulled up a million 'left over' files, none of which I deleted).
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either.
I have been using a program called Raw Therapee. I downloaded a new version and on installing it quit saying the old version must be removed. I could not find it listed in Revo Unistaller Pro, so I did a forced uninstall with the location of the main executable. This removed a lot of stuff. I checked the program folder and the folder and many files were still there, so I deleted them. I did a CCleaner in between and after. I then unhide and show system files and deleted the folders in the Appdata of main user and admin account, couldn't find it anywhere else. CCleaner again and reboot. Went to install the new version again and it claimed that the old version was still installed. I did a search for *aw The* and found an entry in the hidden Program Data Folder. In the Admin account it will not let me in this folder to delete any remnants of the old version of Raw Therapee.
I have a laptop HP PAVILION tx2550er. After installing AMD AHCI driver in the system tray shows the Safely Remove Hardware icon (my hard drive). How to remove (not hide!) the icon?
Alright. So I finally got my new computer and slapped Windows 7 Pro x64 on it. Since my case has a slot to plug in an external drive, I used AHCI-mode to support hot-swapping. (And yes, I actually will use it)
Unfortunately, this has caused the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon to appear continuously in the system tray - giving me the option to eject my system drive. Being the minimalist I am, this useless icon annoys me to no end. Is there any way to tell windows not to add the HDD to the safely remove hardware menu (and thus make the menu disappear when there's no other devices)? I've been looking around and can't find any solutions.
I am NOT looking to disable the safely remove hardware entirely - I still want it to show up for other devices, just not the system drive. Also, I don't want to just hide it with the expand/collapse menu - call me picky.
How can i remove JUST the program from the list, without actually uninstalling it?Ive tried going toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall but i cannot find the program i want to do this to.
i use internet explorer now cause someone told me its the best one, but i get a lot of annoying ads in general, whenever i browse Internet, facebook. how do i remove ads, what browser shall i use, what programs shall i download for the browser, what settings.
I am wanting to remove programs that have already been uninstalled from my add/remove programs list. I have tried uninstalling them in safe mode. I have tried to restore to an earlier time(which just compounded the problem). It used to give me the option of removing programs with a message like "error occured during uninstall would you like to remove program anyway?" but now I just get install.log not found over and over again. My program list is super huge and 80%(approx) is not even there. It is driving me insane.
I need to remove xp from my C: i installed XP in C: (primary partition) and Win7 in D:I need to remove the XP. I cant format that drive...what should i do to remove that?In Run->msconfig->Boot tab it shows 1ly win7...i cant delete xp....
Since I intalled Win 7 on my computer, I have nouse for the partion that came with the computeroriginally. I have already deleted all the files inthe partition, so there is nothing I have to worryabout. What I want to know is what is the correct wayto remove the partition safely so I can recoverthat space.
When Microsoft first allowed a peek at Windows 8, I created a 50gb partition on my C: drive so I could take a look at it. Now, after reading about some horror stories about Microsoft's removal of support for several functions I find quite useful in Windows 7 especially its downgrading of support for DVDs, I would like to remove the partition I allocated to Windows 8 and reclaim the space on my C: drive for Windows 7. Can this be done easily without reformatting? I think I'll hang around with Windows 7 until I know more about Microsoft's intentions.
