I can shrink the 650gb by say 300gb, and it will make a 350gb unallocated partition.If i try to create a new simple volume from the 350gb, disk mgmt throws errors saying 'not enough space to complete operation'

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a new simple volume in 130 GB free disk space. There's no obvious reason why it would refuse to do so - I'm not at the hard limit on number of partitions or anything - but disk management MSC is consistently returning "Not enough space" errors. The only thing I can think of is something to do with the partition order, but if so I have no idea how to fix it non-destructively. I'm in the middle of backups on it, so deleting partitions is a no-go. At the moment I don't understand what's going on.

I can do this ever so easily in gparted and may resort to that but a bit infuriated at how clunky this seems in disk management.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI currently just set up my new build. I decided to go with Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB for my hard drive. However, I split the hard drive into two parts: 2 TB and roughly about 770 GB unallocated space. I installed Window 7 on 2TB partition. Now, I decide to use the rest of 770 GB of unallocated space. I tried to use Computer Management, but it doesn't give me the option to create a new volume from unallocated space. Similar thing happened with EaseUS Partition Master. With Acronis Disk Director, it doesn't even recognize the unallocated space at all!!! So how can I create a new volume or even merge it with my C drive? Do I have to reformat my hard drive and split them again and do a clean installation again?
Note:I already checked, my BIOS recognizes my hard drive with 3 TB. The unallocated space is right after my C drive. There is only 1 primary MBR partition (C drive), and 100 MB system files right before it.

View 3 Replies View Relatedso i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!

I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a backup .bat that I have hobbled together from forums such as this. The original was made a few years ago. It worked flawlessly, until I brought it to windows 7. Very funny, now, it only works between 10am and midnight. This has been hell to figure out because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I know it has something to do with the context of the "set hour" or "if "%hour.." part, but I can't figure it out. Should be an easy fix for someone familiar with .bat programming. Here is the relevant part:

It has gotten worse, the problem is that my CPU's temperature goes above 70 and sometimes around 85, and the fan just goes crazy.I can run as many applications I want, as long as they don't involve: gaming (3D), video rendering, video conversion, video streaming, skype calling etc.
This is ridiculous, I'm trying to convert my videos to another format, and can't really do it in this condition because I fear shortening the life of my laptop if the overheat stays on. I just bought my laptop the start of this year, this only started to happen recently.

It's easy to forget that I need to check my email for customer messages each half hour (or thereabouts). The company wants me to use gmail so I can't configure incoming messages to make a sound.
