View 2 Replies View RelatedThe autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
View 1 Replies View Relatedok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a backup .bat that I have hobbled together from forums such as this. The original was made a few years ago. It worked flawlessly, until I brought it to windows 7. Very funny, now, it only works between 10am and midnight. This has been hell to figure out because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I know it has something to do with the context of the "set hour" or "if "%hour.." part, but I can't figure it out. Should be an easy fix for someone familiar with .bat programming. Here is the relevant part:
Code: set hour=%time:~0,2%
if "%hour:0,1%"==" "set hour=0%time:~1,1%
set folder=%date:~10,4%_%date:~4,2%_%date:~7,2%-%hour%.%time:~3,2%
set DateFolder=%date:~10,4%_%date:~4,2%_%date:7,2%
wondering if this is a limitation of having 4 primary partitions.my lenovo came with 4 primary partitions (all tagged with dark blue color in diskmgmt):

I can shrink the 650gb by say 300gb, and it will make a 350gb unallocated partition. If i try to create a new simple volume from the 350gb, disk mgmt throws errors saying 'not enough space to complete operation'
It has gotten worse, the problem is that my CPU's temperature goes above 70 and sometimes around 85, and the fan just goes crazy.I can run as many applications I want, as long as they don't involve: gaming (3D), video rendering, video conversion, video streaming, skype calling etc.
This is ridiculous, I'm trying to convert my videos to another format, and can't really do it in this condition because I fear shortening the life of my laptop if the overheat stays on. I just bought my laptop the start of this year, this only started to happen recently.

I'm currently have a website from zymic hosting, And I was wonder if it's possible to find a PHP-based file manager, so I can upload and manage files without using FTP. I'm mostly looking for one that allows me to get the direct url of a file so i can share that file.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy job involves juggling six different pieces of internal software and attention to detail. It's easy to forget that I need to check my email for customer messages each half hour (or thereabouts). The company wants me to use gmail so I can't configure incoming messages to make a sound. Even if I could, it would be better just to do a scheduled check.
Cnet has a ton of reminders and clocks; too many to sort through. Anyone have a suggestion for something that will make a simple sound and pop up a message box on top of whatever I'm doing? I use Windows 7 Professional 64bit

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 build 7227 3 days ago and have encountered 2 problems.
My MB Management Engine Interface Drivers are incompatible and even when I try to run them in compatibility mode they still do not work.
2nd Problem:
The new OS is not picking up one of my WD 1Tb HDD. It shows in the bios, and it shows in the device manager but nowhere else. I think that this may have something to do with the fact that there is no PCI simple communications controller installed, and I cannot find that anywhere.
does anyone knows where i can get the PCI Simple Communications Controller Driver. i´m currently running a Gateway 3234m, with a Intel Core 2Duo, E7400 2.80GHZ and 4gb of Ram and a 64 bit operating system.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try creating a simple Playlist, I get an error right after I hit enter when I'm done naming the Playlist. Is there anyway I can fix this? I was really hoping to use WMP to manage my songs and videos!
I didn't have this problem before. Also, I recently [few hours ago] reformatted my HD and installed a fresh Windows 7 to rid all the bloatware software that came with my Acer laptop.
From Google I found this thread DEAR WANDY / windows media player 12 The person had the same problem and fixed it. Problem is I have no idea how to "edit the registry" and all that.
Edit: I think I've found the solution. The music MUST be in the "Media Library" in order to have it in the playlist, albums, etc. Very lame.
old system was laptop running XP with desktop also running XP. We set up a "shared documents" folder with simple file-sharing on the desktop which the laptop could access when not working out of the office via DSL high-speed router. We just upgraded to a new laptop running 7 Pro and it automatically detected the router and I selected "work network" during setup. I can't even see the desktop on the "new network" dsiplayed on the "new laptop" - do I need to set up a new connection on the XP desktop or what?
