Alright so recently Burnout Paradise has been crashing to the desktop without displaying any kind of error message. I can load the game, select a vehicle, and get in game just fine but the game will crash after a random amount of time. My system specs shouldn't be a problem at all, but you can check them out. View 3 RepliesI bought my New PC under 2 months ago, and now it has this super annoying problem, that i don't know hot to fix.it has the same effect like the windows key, but it wont show the menu. it happens every 3 - 10 minutes, and it's a pain in the ass while playing. after 10 - 30 minutes after this happens, mouse and keyboard wont respond anymore.

So I checked whether group policy client service run using "services.msc", but it shows, it has been stoped and also I can't start the service there. When I checked the event viewer, in the "Windows logs>>System" There is a error message something like this. "There was an error while attempting to read the local hosts file." Event ID 1012.

I believe it is related to the chipset driver. I have already reinstalled all of the others but the chipset driver setup app will not run properly. If I run the old one it just prompts for a restart and doesn't do anything, if I run the new one it just claims I am using an unsupported OS. Is there any way to remove the chipset driver from the device manager or some other location? I am unsure of which one it is. I'll try to get a screenshot next time.
This issue just popped up out of nowhere it was running fine one day and the next this.

Recently whenever I restarted my laptop windows stops working. I get the message "The application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait". I end the proccess and sometimes it reloads (and if it does it just goes throught the same thing again) or just seems to freeze up. I can run the system in safe mode just fine. I have done virus and malware scans to make sure it was not something from that. View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a recently developed problem, as I've been playing Saints row the third and skyrim the game crashes after about 30 min. Not every time though. like 1 out of 3 times I play. The game will be working great (no lag or drop in frame rate) and it just up and closes to the desktop. No crash report or any other form of notification of what happened. I looked at the event viewer and I wasn't sure where to look in it but I looked in windows logs->applications and I found this error around the time of one of the crashes:Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got my first crash(0x00000050) on my pretty new Asus G74SX-A1 laptop while playing Half-Life: Source and never had any other blue screens before that. After that, I restarted and went to desktop and it eventually crashed again but when it did I opened Steam(not sure if connected). After that second crash, I went and scanned my PC on safe mode and then restarted again and tried to do a system repair but right after it was done I got the second BSOD(0x0000001a).
I have not recently installed any new hardware or anything that could change my system in any way. The last time I updated my PC's hardware was when I updated my graphics card (Nvidia gtx 560m) to a beta client about 3-4 weeks ago and haven't had any problems.
I looked through some of the error dumps my self to see what was causing the problems and it says it was "ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0" but I'm not too sure what to do.
I provided the dump files in the attachements(2 dump files zipped). Edit: I think I might have fixed it by updating my graphics card, performing hard drive error checking, and chkdsk /f. I am not totally sure if it is resolved yet and if it is not, I will post back with more information informing that it has not worked.
I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just swapped out my 560 ti for an identical model (on warranty). Now GTA-SA won't launch. I've tried a full delete/reinstall of GTA to no avail. I also updated the GPU's drivers.In HW Manager, I have 2 exclamations:
-Video Controller
-USB Controller
The game worked fine with the last gpu (until that gpu developed a noisy fan).

So I have been having troubles with my games recently I have no idea why it is happening but every time I try starting up my games such as Star Wars titles because they are on sale on steam so I picked them up, for Star Wars Battlefront 2 I get to the main menu pick new game and then it says play training I select it and it goes black and takes me to my desktop and there is no error message displayed, and for Star Wars Empire at War it gets passed the game logo's lucas arts ect.. and then it goes black and again no error message

I don't know a lot about computers but have been trying to figure out what is causing the crashes. I tried uninstalling my antivirus avg and it did not help. I also uninstalled chrome and firefox and then added them back with no change. I checked my event logs and found dns client 1012 errors but did not know if that has anything to do with the browsers crashing.

I have run memtest for 12 hours - No errors.
My CPU is cooled by a H100 - temps never go above 40c even under load.
CPU - i5 - 2500k
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
PSU - Antec 750w
Even on a fresh install it will crash during the setup phase, like where you put in product code and username. Leading me to think its a Hardware issue.
So about a week ago, I was just playing a flash game when my screen appeared to freeze, upon unfreezing Windows Aero stopped working(the transparency on the task bar disappeared). There was no error, it just stopped working. After looking around my computer it told me that Aero wasn't supported, which did not make sense considering it was just supported.So I did a system restore(it was made after a windows update) and it started working again. It worked fine for a few days and just today it did the exact same thing. Of course, I resolved this issue with a system restore as previously, but I would like to find out what the problem is exactly to fix it, since my current solution is just going to be an annoyance.

So I'm trying to upgrade from the 6801 build (32-bit) to the 7100 build so both my laptops are on the same build.... 7100 is way more stable also..
Anyways I put in my Windows 7 7100 DVD, restart the comp... I hit a key to boot from CD, it tries to boot and comes up with a screen that says:

And I cant get 6801 off this comp. It's now starting be become unstable, it will blue screen and restart on my often.

Funny thing, it is a problem with all my browsers (IE and Firefox) and I cannot access any website with the www. prefix. Urls without this prefix works fine. The box has an 'OK' button and an x in the top right, I just hit 'OK' and the box goes away and doesn't bug me, but I wish to have it stop, since it kinda worries me that it may be a larger problem that may slowly get bigger.
