windows is closing unexpectedly when ever I'm trying to convert videos using Handbrake and render my work files on Premier Pro. Before I didn't face this kind of problem it's happening after giving my Mother Board for servicing because of some power problem. I tried in all possible ways I know to fix this problem like reinstalling all codecs and programs, I also reinstalled my Windows but there is no change. I'm using Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with latest updates. Except this almost every thing is normal.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use both Google Chrome and IE and with each at times tabs simply close--there are NO addons that are for bothI also notice this happening with Word I get no error messagesI have NOT added any 3d party programs when this startedI cannot discover one unique thing that happens to cause this, so I sense the problem must be with my OS
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an interesting problem happens to my new build recently. It's getting more frequent since last week, and I'm not sure whether this is coming from my 5 years old modem or my PC.whenever I completely close my web browser,my rig will drop internet connection to "no internet access".Then I have to restart my modem by unplugging them and restart my PC.It will not work only by restarting my PC or modem along. I have to restart both to back on internet.I have also ran through "my own" trouble shooting thing, and I only restart modem/PC along, the system always give "identifying network dot dot dot,no network access".
Motherboard: Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3
P.S. AT&T internet was outage in my area for about half day last week. Even then, the problem started couple days before the outage.I have also switched to my new Ethernet cable in case of cable issues.
My specs are:
Duo Cereon 2x2.4Ghz
4Gb ram
Radeon 7700 HD
Windows 7 Professional
Its completly new but here is the kick. Sometimes when i use firefox..IE or opera or chrome....it works fine...sometimes when i press somewhere It freezes...but most common freeze is when i close browser...
I looked around internet and i can't find anything like this... I mean PC freezes like picture...i waited over 12 hours...and it was still frozen nothing seems to react...Keyboard or mouse...only to unfreeze i have to do hard reset
Windows 7 Home Ed. on my Vostro laptop keeps crashing. It usually happens when close the lid, but sometimes does this when I'm on the laptop itself.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI get an error that says, "has stopped working" then it closes the window and reopens back to the same page. This happens at least once every five mins and with both chrome and IE. I've tried all the different things floating around the web on how to fix this and nothing works.
Its not a connectivity problem as uTorrent is constantly seeding in the back ground.
I've disabled all add-ons as well as disabling all start up services.
i bought my laptop about a month ago, its an acer aspire 4739. my specs should be available for you guys to see (atleast, that's what i was told when i signed up).about a couple of weeks ago, i started noticing frequent browser crashes. my default browser is firefox, and it had worked perfectly on windows 7 on my previous laptop. on this one however, it started crashing quite frequently, most often when i had multiple tabs open. sometimes, even sites like google would take 2 minutes to load, and then crash abruptly.
i tried using chrome and ie, and they ended up crashing as well. however, i am currently using ie with add-ons disabled, and it has been working perfectly fine. also of note is that it tells me when i go to Internet using the disabled ie that "you need to upgrade your adobe flash player to watch this video. download it from adobe. (version 11.1.102.55)...but other than that, it works like how a browser should: crash free, no matter how many tabs are open.i tried numerous help suggestions, including uninstalling ff and reinstalling with an upgraded version, doing a clean boot, but both were to no avail. if it helps, the window that pops up says "firefox is not responding" and my choices are "close this program" or "check online" the common thing between all of the firefox crashes have been stackhash errors as faults. for example:
problem signature:
problem event name: appcrash
application name: firefox.exe
application version: 8.0.1.4341
application timestamp: 4ec9a124
[code]....
I am have problems using google chrome and all other internet broswers. When i try a search in the search engine the broswer crashes 5 seconds later. I have did a virus scan , malware etc and this hasnt helped. I have also created new profiles and did a SCAN NOW via cmd to try and correct the issues but this didnt work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is almost unusable because firefox, explorer and chrome are constantly crashing. I don't know a lot about computers but have been trying to figure out what is causing the crashes. I tried uninstalling my antivirus avg and it did not help. I also uninstalled chrome and firefox and then added them back with no change. I checked my event logs and found dns client 1012 errors but did not know if that has anything to do with the browsers crashing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been shutting down unexpectedly for a while. I installed a new power supply, stopped using Internet Explorer, and replaced Vista with Windows 7. The problem seemed to go away. However, recently I've been getting the BSOD and having the computer shut down. Before I go buy a new computer (current one was purchased in 2007), I thought I'd see if anyone here has any suggestions. I went to the Event Manager and found the following errors in the Administrative Files that occurred around the time of the last shut down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to be dynamically turning on the Clicklock function. It happens often (multiple times a day) when I'm using Sibelius music notation software. It may have happened once in my email client (Thunderbird) but in no other circumstances. I think that rules out the mouse hardware. And I'm almost certain it happened with a different mouse, a different PC, and different operating system (WinXP PS3), but I can't confirm that.Is there a way an application like Sibelius can programmaticallly turn on Clicklock? (The Sibelius support folks don't think it's their problem.)

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been acting up of late. It's been freezing up at random times (even if I am running nothing). Trying to open up Task Manager, I don't see anything that could be using the CPU, but yet it says that i'm running at 100% capacity. MalwareBytes isn't picking up anything. Neither is Avast. Also, when I try to run anything Microsoft Office related I usually end up with a lot of lag. I'm not sure if these two are related, but I just thought I'd mention it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was running a dual boot system with XP and Ubuntu in a 64 bit system. Had no problems whatsoever.
Recently installed Windows 7 in same dual boot system and Windows now crashes frequently. No BSOD- just shuts down quietly to a black screen. At first I suspected a heating problem but the system reboots immediately so overheating does not seem to be an issue.
Ubuntu has never crashed so I assume it is a Windows software problem.
I have not been able to identify an event which might cause this problem. I have run scans for malware and viruses using Spybox Search and Destroy as well as other similar programs.
This morning I noticed there was an error in Event Viewer and Reliability History that implied that Windows had shut down unexpectedly. However, there is no evidence of that. Here's the message from Event Viewer...
Log Name: Application
Source: Windows Error Reporting
Date: 2/5/2013 7:50:56 AM
[Code]....
And on Reliability History, it just said Windows shut down unexpectedly. But like I said, there's no evidence of that.
I have set up Task Scheduler to execute batch programs using a programming language known as SAS. Normally things work properly, the task ends as expected, and a log file is created. Today, the task ended unexpectedly (actually, I know why, I set the task to end after 30 minutes, because the task shouldn't take more than about 2 minutes). The problem is that the log file that is being written by this program is now locked, and I cannot delete it or move it edit it. Other files used in this task have the same problem. If I try to delete it, I get the Windows message that says: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in SAS" (even though SAS is no longer open because the task has ended). This is completely repeatable, this has happened several times now, with identical results.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am installing Windows 7. I deleted all partitions during the install setup and created a new one for Windows to install on (plus the 100MB partition it created itself). The installation seems to go fine until the "completing installation" phase. The computer reboots and the Windows 7 desktop appears but an error window pops up that says "The system unexpectedly rebooted during the installation. The installation can not be completed." It also tells me to restart the installation (which I've done several times with the same result each time).
I know that the system meets (actually exceeds) the minimum requirements. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or what could be causing this problem?
I've just recently had the problem of my pc shutting itself down overnight or when it is left without use throughout the day. When I come back to it I have to hit the power button and then windows gives me the message that it had to shut down unexpectedly. I checked all the power settings and everything is set to never turn off. I recently updated to SP1 and was wondering if this could have anything to do with it since it seems that the problem started around the time of the update.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 7 Ultimate x32 to operate an astronomical observatory. This requires running a range of software simultaneously. On several occassions, my computer has gone into sleep mode and will not respond to waking requiring a hard shutdown and reboot. This introduces a host of registry errors and stops any astrophotography. I have looked into Event Viewer and all I get is the following entry:
The system is entering sleep.

My computer unexpectedly shuts down while playing some games. I'll play for about 5 minutes, then I hear a beep and the computer immediately shuts down. I thought that maybe it was because I was putting too much strain on my gpu (nvidia gtx 230), so i tried lowering my settings, but that changed nothing. This only happens for some games, and occasionally, the computer will not shut down. I am using an hp dv7t laptop with a core i7 720 quad core processor and 4 gigs ram..
