I have a brother HL-5250DN printer connected directly connected to the network via a network cable.
Every time I power down the printer it assigns a new internal IP address when powered back up.
I have to go into the printers properties and change the ports properties to match the new assigned IP address.
Is there any way to assign a static IP address to this printer?
I can't seem to get my Brother 1440 to print using 7. It works for others in the office using vista, but I can't make it work with 7 installed. I keep getting a message saying that no drivers are installed. I DL the driver from the brother site and unzip the file. They go to C/users/wallify/appdata/temp (or something similar). It is 8 files total.
Any ideas?
I have a brother printer, a new one, and it says that I am offline when I am not offline. I don't know how to get the printer online.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP desktop computer running Windows 7 64bit. I just did a factory restore. Everything was re-installed and works fine except one of the printers. There are two printers. A HP Photosmart wireless printer, which works fine. The second one is a Brother HL-2140 USB connected printer. It works fine as well BUT it does not appear in Devices and printers.
I have used Brother's uninstall tool to remove it. I then downloaded, from Brother's website, the correct driver and I re-installed (A/V was disabled during this process). The printer appeared in Devices and Printers but shortly after it disappeared again. The printer is still working but it not viewable from Devices and Printers.
My Brother HL 5250DN networked printer causes HP A6152N PC to crash when anyone on my Home Network sends a print job to the printer, including me. No BSOD, screen goes blank and starts the reboot process. Original OS was Vista when problem started a year ago, upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate x86 but still having same problem.

I have three computers on a network and and an HP officejet J4680 which had a ip of 192.168.1.68 on the old network and everything worked well. On the new network the printer ip has changed to 192.168.1.2 and the computers can print to the printer ok however I cannot scan a document. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.

This caused me unable to do scanning from control center. I did re-installed the driver, but it still keep coming & it look like unsolved problem.
