I can't seem to get my Brother 1440 to print using 7. It works for others in the office using vista, but I can't make it work with 7 installed. I keep getting a message saying that no drivers are installed. I DL the driver from the brother site and unzip the file. They go to C/users/wallify/appdata/temp (or something similar). It is 8 files total.
I have a Brother HL-1440 laser printer that was hooked up to my old computer Windows ME now I have a Windows 7 computer and the printer won't print multiple copies so I have to print 1, then 1, then 1. I tried to download from Brother site didn't work changed USB wires also. Ideas?
I cannot find a driver when trying to install the printer over my home network.Printer is installed and working on Dell XP 3100 Printer has prevously been installed via usb on Tosh Win 7 Printer & file sharing are set up on both computers Files and printers can be seen from the Tosh that are on the Dell. When i try to install, I get error message that a driver cannot be found. Remeber the printer is installed locally on both machines... so drivers are present. Does anyone know how to direct to the driver? I do not have an printer install disc... installed from download.
I have a Brother HL-1440 connected by USB to a new computer running Windows 7 (64-bit). The new computer is connected by an Ethernet cable to a wireless router that in turn is connected (wirelessly) to another computer running Windows XP. I am already able to share files between the two computers, and would like the XP computer to be able to share the HL-1440 connected to the Windows 7 computer.I have no problem printing from the Windows 7 computer to the HL-1440 directly - Windows 7 found the driver automatically. However, when I go to the XP computer, and try to add the HL-1440 as a new printer, I get a popup stating that "The other [Windows 7] computer does not contain the correct printer driver .....". I then ask it to search for the correct printer driver, and another popup states that "The .INF file is missing ...."I have tried re-installing the original HL-1440 driver on my Windows 7 computer, but that did not have any apparent effect.
how I can get a driver for my brother printer HL -1030 for Windows 7. I called Brother office in Canada and they say this printer is not compatible with Windows 7. Is there any other printer driver I can download and get my printer working.
I have a HP desktop computer running Windows 7 64bit. I just did a factory restore. Everything was re-installed and works fine except one of the printers. There are two printers. A HP Photosmart wireless printer, which works fine. The second one is a Brother HL-2140 USB connected printer. It works fine as well BUT it does not appear in Devices and printers.
I have used Brother's uninstall tool to remove it. I then downloaded, from Brother's website, the correct driver and I re-installed (A/V was disabled during this process). The printer appeared in Devices and Printers but shortly after it disappeared again. The printer is still working but it not viewable from Devices and Printers.
My Brother HL 5250DN networked printer causes HP A6152N PC to crash when anyone on my Home Network sends a print job to the printer, including me. No BSOD, screen goes blank and starts the reboot process. Original OS was Vista when problem started a year ago, upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate x86 but still having same problem.
When I tried to install my Brother MFC J265W I've got message: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)." I press OK installation process was still going on and after few minutes I've got another message: " Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000706). The print processor does not exist." The setup finished and after restart in Control Panel my printer didn't shop up and when I tried to print something my printer was not installed. My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit.
Windows 7 has successfully detected my Brother Printer MFC - 240C. But during start up , a pop up message telling failure on control center to start up . This caused me unable to do scanning from control center. I did re-installed the driver, but it still keep coming & it look like unsolved problem.
Does anyone experiencing same problem to me & how to overcome this problem?
Looking for the drivers for a MFC-5440CN, looked on Brother web site for drivers and they said that the drivers that MS use are ok, but the problem my MFC is on the network, so I can use it as a printer/fax/scanner.
Can someone tell me how to install it to windows 7 x64 or can I just use the Vista x64 driver to install it....
My friend got this rather old laser printer, but it is not working with Windows 7 x86.
Windows 7 x86 does have driver for it build in, and at boot it finds the printer, and "install" the driver. The printer is showing up in "printer and other devices", but when I then rightclick on the printericon and selecting printerproperties, it says, that there is no driver installed for this printer, and ask if it should install one.
I click Yes, and it seems to install OK, I can then see that the printer is connected to the parrallel-port (LPT1, but when I try to click on "print testpage", it writes back "access denied", and after that it ask if Windows should bee lookig for a solution. I click yes, and it is testing, but find no errors.
I close the window, and rightclick on the printericon again. And it is starting all over again. No printerdriver is installed for this printer, and then ask if it should install one.
I have tried to remove the printer, rebooted, and the printer is then found again, but no difference. I have downloaded the Vistadriver, and tried this but no difference.
Any ideas what I can try now? The driver that is buildin in Windows 7 is WHQL certified.
Although I've installed the Brother Drivers several times, the scan driver is not visible in the equipment manager. Is there any possibility to install the scan driver separate?
I have Windows 7 64-bit. I was able to print from aASUS A527 through the Brother MFC-J265w wirelessly until I unfortunately downloaded "Coupon Printer software." The software did not work so I uninstalled it though Control Panel. Since then the laptop will not print. It gives the message "Cannot communicate with printer" when I try to print. The Brother All-in-One does appear in "Printers and Devices and is marked "Ready" as the "DEfault Printer."
When I tried to install my Brother MFC J265W I've got message: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)".
I press OK installation process was still going on and after few minutes I've got another message: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000706). The print processor does not exist."
The setup finished and after restart in Control Panel my printer didn't shop up and when I tried to print something my printer was not installed.
I am using Windows 7 and recently had to reinstall it. I also reinstalled my Brother printer software from the original CD that came with it including the scanner driver.Everything installed except the scanner driver. I uninstalled all the Brother software and then downloaded the drivers from the internet and still I got the same result, no scanner driver installed. I repeated this multiple times and the scanner driver just won't install.
I am operating with Windows 7 64 bit (6.1.7601); Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM.
My problem is pretty frustrating. I've just bought a Brother Printer (MFC-J6510DW) and have been trying to get Brother's Control Center 4 (CC4) to install to my laptop. The installation process works fine, and my laptop is able to 'connect' to the printer, yet when I try to open the CC4 application, nothing happens. The icon is visible, it is visible in my program files, and even shows as running in my Notification Area. Yet when I double click the icon, the mouse shows the spinning loading symbol, then nothing!
As the software is running without issue on my girlfriends laptop though, who is also operating on Windows 7 64 Bit, they have suggested that it may be an issue with my laptop as opposed to the software. That's why I came here! I have tried a multitude of solutions, and none have worked yet. Having scoured the web for similar situations, I have yet to find a similar situation or solution.
This includes;
-Running program as administrator
-Reinstalling the software (a lot!)
-Running the program in various other compatibility modes (XP and Vista - not really sure what I was doing here, so that still might be an option to try properly!)
-Updating the software with the latest update via Brother's support website, including updating the Printers firmware
-Installing the software entirely of Brothers website, as opposed to using the provided installation CD
I really need to get this software working. Without it, I am unable to scan over the network wirelessly, which is one of the reasons I bought the printer!
