Asrock e6 z77 board, uninstalled and reinstalled latest drivers for gigabyte 6870 but Windows 7 64x spits a colada-scope of colors and crashes severely sometimes with blu screen the moment I press play, plays standard blurays fine. If I switch to onboard no problems. 750 psu, i73770k, 16G ram LG bddvdrw.
I've had a problem since day 1 with my 6870 where it will run constantly at around 55% even when the computer is idle. It's pretty damn loud and although I can manually turn it down, that only causes the temps to start rising.Speedfan reports the card at running around 53/54 degrees C on idle too, which I'm sure isn't a great temp anyway.I've tried clearing dust away from it, whilst it's been sitting in the computer but as I say, this is a problem I've had ever since I bought it.
I just recently bought another card to xfire for my rig. Since ive done this however my games randomly freeze or bsod, or freeze with a loud buzz until i shut my rig down.. i think its a driver issue, because it used to do it when i had 1 card and i bumped it down to like 11.10 and everything worked fine.. but when i got the new card, apparently 11.10 didnt support xfire.. so i had to update to 11.12.
i'm having trouble installing the latest catalyst drivers.the package fails and keeps knocking me back with the INF file was not find.ive installed the package to a folder and tried to navigate via system and update the driver file but get an error regarding the information set or element settings (and the driver doesn't update.my graphics card is still working so to speak, i can enter games although my system crashed 2 hrs ago from dxgmm1.sys and thats what prompted me to uninstall and reinstall my drivers but im running into alot of problems.i've also tried reinstalling through safe mode and still not working (ive used driver sweeper to make sure it's a fresh install)
Ok so i rma'ed my r6870 hawk and the new one they sent keeps giving me the (display driver stopped responding and has recovered) error every time a start a game and if i try browsing the web or anything on the desktop it give me the error every 2 to 5 mins my computer freezes then in 3 to 6 sec the screen blinks and the error comes up any ideas. i have tried fresh install of windows 7 newest motherboard bios older display drivers reseating the card 3 or so timesgraphics card bios update they where the newest availableinstalled the newest chipset drivers and many other things i can't remember i have no other computer to test with but my other card worked for a while and played threw battlefield 3 single player 6 to 7 hours and lots of internet browsing with out ever having the display driver error system secs gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H Athlon II X3 440 western digital black 500gb sata G.SKILL 2GB 2 x 1GB DDR3 1600 corsair cx400 dvd cd burner combo ide front case fan 80mm rear case fan 120mm random gateway case from really old computer.
So im having the strangest issue with my graphics card. I had it installed and fine for about a year now and suddenly it started having issues with Borderlands 2 where the card will literally just cut off right after the game add's and just before i can select to load game. The strange thing is the sound from the game will still play so i know the system itself is still running. I tested the temp's on gpu and cpu both of which are under 70c, i tried reinstalling windows and immediately installing amd drivers and running a game, it does the same thing.
I have a problem with my sapphire radeon graphics card. What it is iv been having problems with drivers with being not responding then recovered. So i did some research online and quite a few forums have said flash and update the gpu bios. (stuped mistake of my life) Anyway iv worked out iv put the wrong bios on and i was wondering if its possible to revert the flash, but one problem i didnt back up the bios before hand so im stuffed. I have found one online what apparently it will work but i dont know how to make a bin format file to boot with a usb stick.
This week, rumors popped up again that Microsoft was working on a $100-$150 Blu-Ray add-on drive for the Xbox 360. And once again, the rumors are untrue.
Here's the official statement.
"As we've said before, Microsoft has no plans to introduce an Xbox 360 Blu-ray add-on. Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available." Read more at the source.
I've been keeping an eye on these forums; I find that it provides the most succinct information regarding Windows 7.
I finally bit the bullet and made myself a HTPC running Win 7 RC 64-bit. The whole purpose was to play ripped DVDs (to VOBs) from my NAS, any downloaded shows (as AVI's) from my NAS, and hopefully BluRays via the BD-ROM (I have a PS3, so this was not the main reason).
It seems that I was able to get the first two objectives working without any work. All I had to do was install the latest Catalyst drivers.
However, I can't seem to get Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra (or Windows Media Center) to play BluRays with anything more than 'stereo.' I've tried to research the topic, but there's just too many acronyms flying around (PAP, AAC, AC3, etc) that reading forums is like greek!
From my understanding, I know I can't get the DD TrueHD (or DTS-MA) to work via HDMI. However, I THOUGHT I could at least have PowerDVD "convert" (is the proper word downsample?) the DD TrueHD to a 5.1 Multichannel audio.
Am I completely wrong? Is what I want even possible?
I have a LAN and Homegroup and my wife's and my computer are connect. I also have a BluRay player connected via Ethernet cable to my gateway (cable modem + router), but I cannot see it (I can play Netflix movies on it, though). How can I add the BluRay to my homegroup so that I can play music from my computer to it (or rather to my amplifier via the BluRay)?
Has any of you ever experienced this problem before, i set the DVD and bluRay drives to be associated with powerDVD however i have the following issue:Works:- If i insert the DVD/BluRay then powerDVD automatically launches - If i right click on the DVD/BluRay then i can select "Play with powerDVD" DOESNT work.If i try double clicking on the DVD/BluRay drives. If i right click on the drives and press play When i say it doesnt work i mean windows throws up an error saying: "This file does not have an associated program for performing this action. Please install a program.I know for a fact that i HAVE associated the drives with powerDVD yet it still complains If anyone have any idea how i can resolve this i would be very grateful
i am looking for a Blu-Ray ripper software that converts to MP4 with nice quality that converts under 2GB and 1080p, i know that this will not be true HD. My question is does anybody know what kind of software i would use that converts this under 2GB with nice quality? I have tons of Blu-ray movies and i want to convert them under 2GB to save space on my hard drive, also can a person make back-up copys of his/her own collection?
I'm thinking about building a new main PC and hooking my current one up to my receiver and plasma tv (50" Pioneer Kuro 720p). If I put a BluRay player in the new PC, will I be able to display it on the tv over the network or does the BluRay player need to be in the HTPC? My current machine's mobo is IDE, not SATA, so I assume that would limit my options on a BD drive.
I have a Gateway laptop with Windows 7 and a disc-drive that used to play Blu-Ray. Now it says "No disc in Drive D" when I insert a Blu-Ray disc. Regular movies play fine. I updated to Cyberlink 11 and also downloded the patch.
Confirmed by Mr. Sinofsky himself, there will be no native BluRay support in Windows 7. However, BluRay Drive makers and OEMs will be able to extend Windows Media Center to support playback. What will be supported in Windows 7 though, is the burning of BRD discs.
Here’s the email that was forwarded to me from our loyal reader Theodore. I did make a WHOIS check to make sure that it was Sinofsky himself. Location was indeed from: United States Redmond Microsoft Corp.
Basically whenever i try to use windows media center to play a bluray disk, it automatically quits out of wmc and launched powerDVD, which is jarring and feels like a cheap hack.
is there any way to get bluray disks to lay inside wmc?
windows 7 dvd maKEr is telling me there is not enough disk space on a dvd when i use my bluray to burn it , but the same files fit when i use the same disk in my dvd burner... i am not trying to burn a blu ray .. and yes my bluray does burn dvds.. i just installed the bluray.. are there setting i need to change somewhere?
I am able to playback .MKV files and ISO (Blu-Ray + DVD) but unfortunately I cannot play the Blu-Ray folders (BDMV + Certificate) folder and have the same with the DVD folders (Video_TS/Audio_TS). I receive the following message:"Cannot Play Video Windows Media Center cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct"Playback via TotalMedia Theatre works fine since I can open the disc folder but it fails via WMC7?
I am using:
Windows Media Center 7 MediaBrowser 2.3.2.0 Metabrowser 2.0 Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 5
so what the heck, is cyberlink in cahoots with the media industry? should I not be able to run a 2011 bluray disk via powerdvd7.3 and have to chuck 100 bucks to get this working again? I have been able to run bluray in this version before (Terminal Salvation). I'm sorry I don't keep up with updates and just expect things to work, crazy consumer I am. It's not a defective ROM this LG CH08NLS10, so you can get that out of your pretty little heads right now ? is there any wonder why I haven't gone all Highdef yet?
Are there any "significant" differences between the ATI Radeon 6850 and 6870 graphic cards? I am considering purchasing the ATI Radeon 6850 graphics card. However, I am told that the 6870 is a superior card. I would like to see a side-by-side comparison of these two cards before making a decision. Does anyone know of a website that provides such a comparison?
I just bought an Alienware with Blu-Ray player but when I tried watching Green Lantern Blu-Ray disc, I was getting a Windows Media Player error. Was assuming that sicen I have the Blu Ray reader option installed, Wndows would also have the appropriate drivers to watch a BluRay movie. What can I install/use to watch my BluRay movies in my Alien-ware laptop?
I have a Asus m2n-e with windows 7 64bit graphics card is a radion 320, I have tryed to install a creative audigy2 when i go to install the driver's for it, I get a message sound card is not installed .
