I have managed to achieve the BSOD quite a lot, and have tried re-installing Windows 7 x64 on my computer three times today.
I have received the BSOD:
after trying to reformat my F: drive.
Uninstalling my Nividia drivers for a new one
After using Firefox for a while it just won't open and BSOD follows shortly after
I believe after installing Windows Live applications it startes to give me BSOD
After the first BSOD I start to get the error message:
Check filesums or somehting about the computed sums is not correct.
Every time that I shutdown Windows 7, it tries to instal 3 updates related to DotNet 4.0, and finishes in a BSOD. I dont have the minidumps cause when it starts again it's like nothing had happened, it doesnt show me any "Unexpected shutdown" window.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed 285.62 P08 Nvidia Driver from the Dell webpage two days ago and it was fine and everything was good after the restart from the installation. After finishing up my session, I noticed that there is a window update so I shut down and left the computer to do the updating on it's own. Today, I switched on my computer to look at my timetable for today and after that put it to sleep mode.
After "waking" it up, I was met with a BSOD after like 5 minutes of use. I then decided to system restore to before i did the updates. It still BSOD albeit it took a longer time before that happened. Right now im using Safe mode + Networking to type this message out. (The computer does not seem to BSOD in safe mode so far). I did the steps listed but I could not get the perfmon step working. "An error occurred while attempting to generate the report".
Specs:
Windows 7 64bit
OEM
About 7 months old both hardware and the OS
I triggered a BSOD in normal mode:
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
STOP: 0x0000007A (0x0000000000000020, 0xFFFFFFFFC000009D, 0xFFFFFA800798E078, 0x0000000000000000)
Physical Memory Dump FAILED with status 0xC000009C
I am getting BSOD everytime I boot up the computer. It will say configuring windows then crash to BSOD and say dumping physical memory. Code error is 0x000000d1. It says that Ndis.sys is involved. Top of the BSOD it says Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or something. it just continues this cycle of trying to boot up followed by crashing.
I can boot up in safe mode, but not safe mode with networking. So I'm not sure how to download the latest drivers without an internet connection.
I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 on a Dell inspiron 546. I have tried booting in safe mode and running msconfig to only boot up microsoft programs, and i've disabled Mcafee security and firewall.
last night before I shut my pc down I was fiddling with windows updates. all I did was make sure that it was set to not install anything automatically and ask me before it does anything. Then oddly enough when I shut down it said it was installing windows updates yet I did not see any updates ready to install before I shut down so I was very confused. I let it do its thing and then it finally shut down. Now when I start the pc today I get a blue screen of death that says pagefault_in_non_paged_area when Windows was finalizing the update install..it rebooted again, tried once more to finalize updates and got another bsod. I rebooted into safe mode at next reboot and it said it was uninstalling the updates because windows failed to load. It restarted normally and it said it was uninstalling and then bsod again. This time when I started up the system repair option came on. I let it do its thing but the issue couldnt be auto fixed it said. I clicked the details and there was signature 07 saying BadDriver. The details are sketchy from here because im having a hard time remembering them, but it let me go into system recovery so i chose to roll back to the time where it showed there was a windows update installed at like 1AM(there was not however, i have no clue why it said this). It wasnt able to roll back to that point and let me choose another. I instead chose to run the memory diagnostics. Windows rebooted and stuck on my bios splash screen. i restarted and it stuck once again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install.
I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again. How do I stop this?

I was running both x64 & x86 version of Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 quite well till now.
I downloaded the images from MS.
Today suddenly my x64 gave the BSOD..
At the end of BSOD some ACPI error is mentioned
I downloaded the new updates & system was installing them when BSOD occured...
The strange thing is that I tried to repair thru every possible means from safe mode to EMS & by starting from the DVD but it failed.(Every try ends at BSOD)
Now the problem is When I try to boot from the x64 DVD(from which I installed) after "Loading files" the BSOD comes when screen says Windows Starting. Even before the glowing animation!
I disconnected my all HDD drives but still no success.
I Can't seem to figure out what went wrong. I think it needs a Device driver update of some sort. I am running Windows 7 64 bit off of an original MS DVD that was installed only about a month ago. I built this system a little over a year ago. I have since pulled some memory sticks (sent for RMA) as they gave me random BSOD because of memory errors. When I try to install updates it gives me a BSOD. I have tried to do a system restore but it says it is unable to complete. Any Ideas? See attachment for dump files.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor a while now I have been experiencing a strange problem. My laptop keeps changing the Windows Updates without my consent. I know this has been raised in the past but my problem is slightly different.I prefer to choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them", however periodically the settings change without my consent to "Never check for updates".This is very frustrating as I am constantly having to keep an eye on this, and change the settings back to what they were in order to receive critical updates, or indeed any other update. The laptop was bought new just under 12 months ago and came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit pre-installed.Has anyone else experienced this, or can anyone advise on a fix?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Win7, that I bought about a year ago, It's an eMachine & I don't know the model number. Where do I find the model number? It won't let me download critical updates (for almost a week now), and keeps saying "Failure configuring Windows Reverting changes" and then it restarts and does the same thing all over again! Why can't I get my windows updates? This is driving me crazy and I'm afraid that one of the "failure to update... and reverting changes" is going to fry my PC, or worse, stop it from coming on at all!

View 2 Replies View RelatedAd our work we installed 10 new PC HP Z400 workstations with windows 7 64bits, we installed Office 2007 small business and Autocad 2011, Sophos anti virus.
After our install every thing seems to work fine computers are set in network and login to server windows 2003, get mail from exchange 2003. and get windows updates from the server 1 day in the week, for the updates we aprove in the windows update service on the server.
but some how the 10x 64bits windows 7 machines dont hold themselfs to update shedul from ones a week from the server, on the client you can't adjust the settings for updating because its locked from out the server but it will update every day if needed we have 3x 32bits windows 7 machines who dont have this problem, the rest of our machines run on windows XP.
the updating shedule isn't a big problem but every time we get an update the programs we use wont work any more they fail in starting up especialy Autocad and Office 2007 wont start Outlook starts up and runs but when we open an other mail then where the program starts in the program fails to work and we have to force it to close reboot the machine 1-5 times to get the programs working, after that it works perfect till a next update from windows
I've tried numerous times to try and update Windows Updates (trying to update on a new computer: Lenovo Thinkpad T530) but every time I shut it off, it says it's updating and it looks like it's doing fine but when I turn it says it's configuring Windows updates and it always gets stuck at the 15% mark and then says Windows updates failed, reverting changes. The error is: Error code 80071A9 I've tried Microsofts Fixits and the readiness update and all that stuff but it doesn't help at all. It's really bugging me now because this is the second or third time that my computer went to a black screen saying that it needs to check the disk (I can't remember the exact wording right now). It says the disk is fine every time but it still worries me to have this for the second/third time.
