I was updating video driver for radeon 4750 through Steam and all of sudden I got a bsod.. should've wrote it down but instead I just tried to restart. It freezes during windows logo screen and when I try to boot on safe mode it gets stuck loading atipcie.

I have been having some troubles with this computer since day of purchase. The first BSOD I had was posted and resolved here: BSOD during battlefield 3. Previously, my computer would BSOD during game activity, such as battlefield 3. Elmer identified the probable cause being Avira, and sure enough when I attempted to delete it the computer BSOD; I managed to delete it in safemode and have had no BSOD's during game sessions ever since. However, lately I have encountered random BSOD's during Windows update and System start up (Just before the windows logo screen) of the same error code; I have posted the DMP file and CPUz screenshots. I think it is also worth mentioning that in games I have noticed stuttering no matter what graphical settings I set it to.I am having difficulty tracking down the Hardware responsible for this BSOD; I have run memtest overnight and it passed without fault. Could the 60gb Force 3 SSD be responsible? Or the RAM?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEarlier I was trying to fix a DCP latency issue and latencymon suggested I update my BIOS. I got the BIOS from Asrock directly. During the update I was given a BSoD and memory dump. The dump froze at 15 and I eventually turned off the computer. Upon rebooting I was unable to get a display.
So far I have reset the cmos, switched between gpu and integrated graphics, removed the gpu and other adaptors, let the computer stay off for 30min; all of which has not worked. When resting the cmos I used both the jumper switch, quick clear, and battery removal.
Dr. Debug shows no errors when starting the computer and it appears to continue cycling boots, despite the lack of error.
O.S - Windows 7 home premium x64
CPU - i5 3750k 4.2gz
Motherboard - Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
Gpu - MSI 550ti
SSD - Corsair Neutron Gtx 128gb
Ram - 2x 4gb 1600 9-9-9-24 patriots.

I have just updated it as well but the problem is still there. The BSOD occurs from few minutes to several hours after booting.(NOTE: I haven't reinstalled the windows since last 1.5 years and it is the same OEM windows that came with the laptop.

This does not happen immediately in games, it appears to be random.I reset all my BIOS settings just in case it was my overclock, but i had another this afternoon afterwards.
System specs:
-Windows 7 home premium x64 (Full retail)
-About 1 year old computer
-OS install about a year as well
BSOD and subsequent boot failure. Windows Startup Repair can't fix the computer automatically and I'm at a loss. The problem occurred after I updated to the latest version of Itunes a few days ago. Right now, I can't even boot into safe mode, so I don't know how to run the utilities.

If I am streaming a video online the screen will get fuzzy and freeze. I will then get the blue screen which will mention that there is a problem with my display driver. This has happened many times. I won't be able to do anything after that. I can't even turn off the computer. I just have to wait for the battery to die so that it will turn off.

View 7 Replies View Relatedive been getting BSODs and finally figured out how to debug it with WinDbg (x86) and set the symbols for windows but i cant read the text. ive tried reinstalling my GPU and Java but no luck. when i try to run intel driver update utility as soon as i run it i get a BSOD ive got the minidump here if anyone knows how to read it, so here you go.

I had a windows update I belive yesterday and ever since then I've been getting blue screens. At first it was while I was playing GTA IV so I thought nothing of it but then it recently started happening after about 5 mins after startup. I'm posting this in safe mode right now and will attach a dmp file

The worst thing is, the updates failed to install and I get the "Reverting back" message and my PC restarts. The updates are "Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2647753), (KB2729094), (KB2732487), and (KB2732500)." I suggest everyone avoids this right now because after a quick Google search I'm not the only one. I've attached my Seven Forums zip file.

After replacing the HDD, I installed Windows 7 a first time and while doing all the Windows updates, I encountered a BSOD after which Windows would not start properly. Fearing defects in the new HDD I installed linux, ran the SMART tool and saw nothing wrong. So I install Windows 7 again a week ago Sunday, and did not do all the updates because I was on slow internet. I just did the Windows update a few hours ago and after restarting this BSOD occurred.

1) Remove driver using add/remove programs
2) Reboot into safe mode
3) Use driver sweeper to remove left over ATI driver files
4) Reboot into regular mode
5) Install updated driver
my windows 7 just did that D@#m automatic update! Now my media player wont play video. I can hear it but i cant see it. I tried to undo the update and there isnt one listed for media player.
View 2 Replies View RelatedComputer is still under warranty (purchased in January) but after a couple months, the customer support hasn't been able to hone in on the problem(s), so I'm just attempting some research myself on the blue screen codes I'm getting. Yesterday the motherboard and both RAM sticks were swapped out and I ran the recovery disks, so the operating system is fresh as well. (Hard drive has also been replaced and one RAM stick was replaced previously too.) Didn't see the blue screen happen, just came back and the computer was off and when I turned it back on it went to the windows recovery screen. When I booted to Windows normally it gave me the error, then finished installing the updates.After the motherboard switchout, it automatically boots from the front USB ports first, despite the fact that I've gone into the BIOS and excluded everything from the boot order other than the hd and cd/dvd. (So it'll boot from my jump drive and say 'missing operating system' and I have to restart.) Not sure if it's relevant information, but figured I'd include it.

I tried to do a restore, but only date it gives is today's. Can I use the Windows 7 disc to do a repair or will I have to do a complete re-install? Also, after screen came back, I kept getting a "Windows Validation Failed" even though I clicked Validate online and it said "Validation complete".

I tried all tools from system recovery like startup repair system restore and none seem to work also i get a message in the system recovery box Operating system:Unknown on(Unknown)Local Disk
my laptop is an asus k53s model with a 750hdd ntfs format i used gparted to make new partitions out of the 750hdd.
Nothing seems to work and id rather not make a clean install because i have very important files on it that i cant afford to lose.
Also when i boot into gparted i can see all partitions,but yellow triangle with a ! is shown near my C partition where i have windows installed.I have no idea what to do to make it see my C:
My computer is a frankenstein, its got a bunch of different parts in it. My computer will not load windows. Every time I turn it on it automatically goes into system recovery. System recovery says it cannot find any problems (after it has already restarted itself 10 times). The first time this happened I did a system restore to an earlier point and it worked just fine. Two days later while I was at work windows did an automatic update, and the problem happened again. Unfortunately, this time the only restore point was the one the system created before it did the most recent update. So now I can't restore the system, the recovery tool isn't working. I've tried opening the bios and changing the boot order to boot by cd first and used the install disk, the same thing happens. I'm almost ready to buy a brand new hard drive and start from scratch.

Just before it does, I can hear the hdd spinning down.Safe mode won't work, system restore won't work, loading last know configuration and system restore won't work.I think this happend after a windows update. Than i update my AHCI driver (Instead regular IDE) to "Intel ICH/10R SATA AHCI controller" and windows update can't run, no error.. just clicking and nothing move.I fix it for now with system restore.. but i want my hardware to be most updated.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, my computer stopped booting up. The splash screen for the mobo showed up, and then I would get a black screen w/ a white flashing cursor and nothing else. I put in my Win7 install disc to try to do a repair, and eventually figured out that if I change my boot sequence in the BIOS so that it goes to the DVD drive 1st and the boot hard drive last, it boots up just fine. I reset to the last recovery point, changed the BIOS back so it would boot from the hard drive 1st, and everything thing worked fine... until it installed the latest Win7 updates. After that, I had the exact same problems. So I changed the BIOS again as a temporary solution, and then I noticed that the computer wasn't sleeping properly. It used to turn off the display, the hard drives, the case fans, etc. Now, it turns off everything EXCEPT the case fans... which pretty much defeats the purpose of putting it in sleep mode.
