Jun 6, 2009I got a bsod after i rebooted i didnt even make it to startup omg why! It took me to tartup repair but the attemping repairs is endless.

Aug 4, 2012Following power failure, my HP Pavilian tried rebooting, but was interrupted due to multiple power failures. On next full reboot, it went to BSOD when I logged into my Windows profile. On subsequent reboot, Windows offered to do a system restore. I restored it to a previous date. After that restore, the computer would allow me to open my profile, but went to BSOD when I tried to open Outlook. I am now operating in "safe mode with networking" but perepherals (e.g., scanner) and some applications (e.g., Outlook) do not work. Files from SF Diagnostic are attached.

Computer BSOD, Then Reboot, Then Freezes At All Startups?
Jul 2, 2012Firstly, my computer was going into shutdown last night when I finished using it. I came back in because it sounded like it was still on, and it had rebooted itself and tried to begin a repair automatically.Secondly, I let it continue this, only to come in at 11pm the following day (it was 3AM when I got off) and it was still repairing.Then, I cancelled it (which it told me I couldn't do, so I rebooted) and went back in and logged in. I started Avast to check for viruses and both scans (quick and full) flashed on and off quickly without scanning, so I figured there must be a virus preventing it from scanning. I scheduled a boot-time scan and rebooted.When it logged back into Windows, it did not boot-time scan, but instead just moved on and logged in. I checked Avast and it said I was unprotected. I tried to go get Malware Bytes, and it crashed and then BSOD.I tried to boot up in safe mode and the safe mode startup froze at classpnp.sys, as did safe mode with netowrking (I was going to try a remote access from my laptop to fix it.)When I try to boot up normally, it freezes on the Windows logo.When I try to boot from 'last known good config.' it freezes or goes to a black screen.On all accounts it BSODs after a short time.The few times I've gotten it to boot up and log in, everything loads up, then it BSODs again or freezes before I can get Maware Bytes up and BSODs. As far as where I could have gotten a virus (which I suspect this is caused by) is that recently I downloaded and installed the "Listening Singing Teacher" (which will not allow me to uninstall because it says that something was not installed properly.)As I was working on this post, I got it to boot all the way up and log in. I tried allowing remote access from this laptop and it wouldn't let me get to the network menu to select it. I then tried to open the internet, but it refused. I then tried to do a system restore, but the start menu froze before I could open it. Then BSOD and reboot.I just tried Safe Mode again and it froze on Classpnp.sys once more.

May 23, 2011For the last couple of weeks (I was just given the laptop) my friends Dell Inspiron has been Blue Screen of Death'ing on start then rebooting (loop on this) - I was able to see the BSOD when I disabled the "reboot on error" and all I get is the following: Blue Screen STOP: 0x0000007B.I cannot get into Safe Mode (same error) to get any dumps (at least I wouldn't know how)I tried Startup Recovery, Last known configuration, Restor points (many of them), Chkdsk, sfc, and bootsec but nothing seems to resolve the problem... Apr 20, 2012My computer hard drive crashed a week ago and most of my back-ups went with the system. So, I got a new 500 GB drive and have been re-installing everything from scratch. I started with a clean install of Windows XP (service pack 2), which took forever to get all the up-dates done. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 and did the up-dates for that. I didn't make a recovery disk at this point because I wanted to get everything installed first.Unfortunately, the last time I went to reboot it failed. When I power-up the computer it stalls out on the Dell BIOS screen. I can't get into Safe Mode, Setup, or the Boot Menu because my keyboard and mouses are not working. They are both USB and none of my USB ports are working. (Also, I have not PS/2 ports on my machine.).

VHD Works, But Gone After Reboot
Jun 8, 2009I followed the turorial and tried three or four times to make a VHD and it works but upon re-booting my PC the VHD I created is gone. I can get it back by re-attaching it but reboot and it's gone again. Oh my Bios is set up correctly in case any one asks.

Overnight Reboot
Jul 19, 2009I was running Windows XP and kept the system up for weeks on end. I just installed Windows 7 7600 last night and throughout the night the system will just restart. I saw some "power" labeled things in the event viewer mostly some wake on things with an "unknown" source but honestly it's not shedding much light on things. Is there anything I can do, change or install that will monitor why this happens?

Reboot Loop
Mar 13, 2009I have been following the progress of Windows 7 through beta stages. I currently operate on Windows XP SP3 which runs great, however Ive very recently decided to go for WIndows 7 beta. I completely backed up all my information, booted from DVD, formatted and then started to install.
It copies/ expands all the files to 100%, then does a normal restart, It then comes up with starting windows> registering entries etc, the carries on finalising the install only to reboot itself?
After the reboot it gives me the windows recovery screen. If it tries to boot up it just goes into a reboot loop. I am sooo confused.
The thing is I would say I know my way around PC software and Hardware very well. I have tried different BIOS settings, Optimising defaults, Load-Fail Safe Defaults, Creating New Partitions etc.
Installation Won't Reboot
Apr 18, 2009I've been trying to install Windows 7 on a brand new computer. It's running RAID 0, and I'm using the latest drivers from my motherboard manufacturer.
Starting up the installation seems to work fine. It goes through the first phase of installation where I choose which partition I want to use, and it starts to copy files from the dvd, yada yada yada. After the "installing updates" section, a window pops up with the following message:
"Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation."
It then kicks me back to the start of installation. If I start the install again, it does the same thing. If I reboot and restart installation, also the same.
If I try a startup repair, I get a message saying that Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically.
I've tried this on two builds--7000 and 7077. Both have the same result.

In order to fix it, I go into the screen resolution and change it. Everything will go back to normal and I will then revert it back to the original. It's a tough thing to explain, so I havnt done much googling. any ideas?
Oh and it started happening after I added the RSS feed. I have tried removing it but it doesn't seem to help.
[BSOD] BSOD Recently Started All Required Files Attached?
Dec 5, 2011I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios.I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors.At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.
Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router.These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash.Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.
I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it.Again that's just my opinion. I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

[BSOD] Random BSOD - Kernel Data Inpage Error
Dec 15, 2012This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

Aug 5, 2011I have a Dell Inspiron 1440, and after it crashed while I was out for Dinner yesterday, I have been encountering so many problems..Yesterday, I was able to get back into my "Account" and access my desktop, but after a few minutes of being on, every single program/application I had opened turned "Not Responding" and stayed that way.
Now today.. I thought it had gotten better, so I did virus scans, registry updates, defragmenting, all of that, and my Laptop worked fine for a few hours. Then it became worse.
I scheduled a Disk Check, and when it finished, it restarted my laptop, but after the Windows Logo that pops up, all I get is a black screen and a cursor that I can move around. This not only occurs in Normal Mode, but Safe Mode, Safe Mode + Network, and Safe Mode + Command Prompt
Complete Lag And Slow Down After Reboot?
Oct 3, 2011Before I go along with my rant, I'm not a computer expert nor near one. I'll try to provide as much information as I know/have. I'm desperate for any answer and if this is located in the incorrect aI have a Lenovo Windows 7 64-bit laptop. I currently have 4.00GB of RAM ( 3.80GB usable ), my processor is Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz.I've always had problems with my two USB slots and the bottom one stopped working all together. Last night, after pushing my USB cord in the incorrect slot, I heard a crack. After replugging my mouse into the correct USB slot, it would not work. After rebooting my computer, it completely slowed down as if someone recorded what I was doing on the computer and played it in slow-motion.
Start up took about 5 minutes and was quite sluggish. It told me to pick an OS and my choices were either "7" and I forgot the other option, unfortunately. Freaking out, I tried to shut it back off, but once I took my finger off the button, it turned on automatically no matter how long I held it down. This time it asked if I wanted to " repair ( recommended ) " or start normally. I chose to repair my computer and it showed no difference.When I finally got on my name I right away noticed the sluggish performance. Again, it was like my actions were being performed in slow motion. I turned on some music and instead of hearing some lovely piano, I heard a completely lagged song. When getting on my internet ( which I'm still struggling with at this moment ) it took me nearly half an hour just to create an account here, when usually I'd be done lickity split.
I was told by a few friends who are knowledgeable with computers that the USB cannot effect the actual hardware. I'm afraid that, that crack I heard at least did something, since right before I restarted the computer it was working fast and perfectly. Mind you, this computer is only 6 months old.I restored my computer and it made no difference. I check for viruses and malware everyday ( using Spybot, microsoft essentials and malwarebytes anti-malware ) and my results came clean. I'm sorry for the long rant, but I tried to provide as much information as I could. I did try contacting Lenovo, but I do not have a phone nor a cell phone due to financial reasoning and that's the ONLY way to contact their tech support.
Cannot Use DVD RW Drive E For Another Disc Until Reboot

I'm trying to figure out which component might be causing this problem, if any. I've updated my bios, drivers, and ran memtest but nothing seemed out of the ordinary and it didn't fix the problem.

Jun 9, 2010I have attempted to install Windows 7 a couple of times now (with different copies each time) and I keep getting the same problem:Everything goes very smoothly for the most part. It finishes the installation, and then goes to reboot. When it attempts to load up Windows 7 the first time, I get the black screen that asks what mode to start windows in (Safe Mode, Start Normally, etc) and I choose start normally. It then brings up the Win 7 startup screen, but pops up with an error that explains that the computer was rebooted unexpectedly and the install did not complete.From this point, all I can do is click the "ok" button (the only option given in the dialog box) which just restarts the computer. If I just let it go and don't touch anything, it brings me back to the exact same message. This happens infinitely. My only other option is to boot from CD again, which lets me start the install all over again. But this still just results in the same error. I ended up just re-installing XP so that I could try and find a fix for the issue.

Nov 30, 2009After about each second/third reboot one of my 6 hard drives become read only. It usually happen to a random drive (though, so far drive where W7 is installed never had that disease, yet) . I can't change any files on that drive and even right click option "New" is missing too (meaning I can't create new folders, files, etc.) The drive stays read only until I run check disk with "automatic fix file system errors" enabled. (UPDATE: it worked only once, after that I had to clear up readonly attribute with diskpart shell command)I don't recall ever seeing W7 do scan disk at startup, but I've seen XP doing that, but XP does it usually to one HDD,because of one faulty program I'm using on it. So, I'm not sure if W7 even has that scan at boot feature at all...If for some reason it decided mark a hdd as "dirty", then why not scan it at boot as XP does?
