My computer is 2 years old and I only use it for gaming. This problem just started after installing Reckoning 2 weeks ago. Sometimes the comp runs for hours without a BSOD other days its every 15 minutes. This same thing happened when I was playing World of Warcraft AFTER i installed Reckoning.
this is the error I get everyday one or two times a day for the past week now. I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 with Windows 7 on it for about one year with no problems until now.I have know idea what the problem could be, does anyone know what it could be?

I'm getting BSOD crashes intermittently, but strangely enough only when my PC is idle.

My computer has been working fine for almost a year now, and the BSOD just started two days ago while playing Skyrim. I thought it was just Skyrim, so I stopped playing that and just left it for a while. Today, my computer got the BSOD during normal flash gaming, and then again 30 or so minutes later when I was trying to post here.

I purchased an HP dvt6-7000 laptop about a month ago - Windows home premium 64 bit. Am using it for work, but recently it's started crashing whenever I leave the computer and it auto-locks. I tried disabling sleep but it still crashes. I called HP support and they had me test the memory and hard drive in Bios, and update the BIOS, but it still crashed.

I'm new to seven forums and need help with a few odd BSOD's. This is my first high performance laptop and I just got it 3 weeks ago. Anyways, it works fine when im not doing anything like now, but when I start up a game, anything GPU intensive actually, after a while the screen will garble up and ill get a BSOD with the sound of what was currently happening recuring in an infinite loop. I have all 3 dump files and will have them attached.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWell my computer blue screened again. I've attached the dump reports. I don't know why it's still doing this; is it really still my wireless USB adapter? If it still is then I'll invest in a PCI wireless adapter instead.I forgot to copy and paste the error report when Windows started. Here's my specs:i5-2500K Sandy Bridge stock @ 3.3GHz16GB (4GBx4) DDR3 1600MHz Corsair VengeanceNVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 HD 2.5GB [EDIT: the card is an EVGA branded card]GigaByte GA-Z68MA850W Corsair CMPSU-850TXV22TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

I am encountering a random crash during computer use. I can not seem to correlate this with a specific action or process, i.e. it happens at different times doing different things. Below I am including three of the BSOD error messages. I have tried changing out RAM and have made sure that my temperatures are good in the case. I ran memtest for 4 hours with no errors, also prime95 did not produce and crash.
My system:
AMD FX 8120 Eight core 3.1 ghz
Sector 5 DDR3 1333 mhz RAM (4x4gb)
2 Geforce GTX 550 TI SLI
Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
Windows 7 Home Premium 64x

It first happened while I was playing Diablo III. The colors on the screen went crazy then Diablo froze and the screen started flashing which eventually lead to a crash and a blue screen. After the reboot windows started and automatically ran the cmd prompt with winSAT trying to diagnose something? It would go through the process and it seemed like it was just looping over and over with no solution. I closed the cmd prompt and it crashed shortly after, with the same errors.

On the next reboot I then ran in safe mode and did a system restore hoping it would clear up. It did not. After the restore it did the same thing and eventually crashed again. Here I have both the dump files from the incidents (it only recorded two of them). I have googled and read up a lot on similar errors and it seems to be either a hardware issue or a driver problem. I am downloading drivers right now and will see what happens, but I am doubtful. Also when the blue screen came up, it said something about the "nvlddmkm.sys" file, but I don't recall what it said. It was too fast for me to catch it all.
I have just bought a new pc and it has already an error!! When I swicht off my pc, a bluescreen appears with "driver power state failure". It's the first time I have seen this error: (a little part is in italian, but errors are international![CODE]
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, I've been experiencing BSOD. The errors occur when I play games for more than an hour, two or sometimes even three hours.

My computer shuts down a lot all by it's self and sometimes shutdowns with a Blue Screen of Death. When it usually shuts down by itself it reboots and it tells me that my computer has failed to start so I choose Start Windows Normally then when the Starting Windows Screen comes up my computer gets a differnet Blue Screen of Death. I am not sure what it says when that comes up because it reboots itself after 1 second. I will list the errors and my computer information down below. I get really stressed out over this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit onto a Samsung 840 250GB SSD and whenever I shutdown using the start menu, it'll say Shutting Down.. for about 10-15 minutes, then BSOD and give me "Driver Power State Failure". However, when I have Windows on my Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB HDD, it shutdown correctly and no BSOD. I have the same drivers and such and have updated them all to the latest. Also updated the BIOS and SSD firmware. On the SSD, if I press the Case reset button while it says shutdown, it'll boot up in three seconds with no problems without the black Windows shutdown error screen.
SSD is in AHCI mode. Here's a link to the BSOD files: [URL]
I've also tried my PC on Balanced with never sleep, never turn off HDD, and no hybrid sleep as well as Performance with the same settings as I've read SSDs don't fare well with Sleep and Hibernate.
i was shuting down my pc last week after using it all day with no problems when a blue screen appeared and the machine rebooted.I shut it down properly and it was fine the next few days . then i the same thing happened twice in a week.only on shutdown.the most recent program i installed a few weeks ago was Protools8.[code] This indicates that a system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver which cannot be identified at this time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI always seem to get that dreaded BSOD warning a lot of times after I hibernate. The night before I'll set my computer into hibernation. I'll wake up the next morning, press the power button on the computer, and receive the "windows did not shut down correctly" black screen error. The computer always starts up fine, but then I get the message:

laptop can not be shut down?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer gets at least ONCE BSOD every time I turn it on after a long period of shutdown. It also sometimes randomly just shuts off or give me additional BSODs. It has got to the point that I can't even load to windows recently, which lead me to reformat my computer. I know the drivers here are not the latest ones, I am trying to use only the drivers from the CDs that came with the hardwares because the last time I used all the latest ones it still caused BSODs. I am not sure what other information I need to post up.

I have Toshiba satellite L645, win7 home premium; ram 2GB, 32bit. HD 150GB (119 Free)Lately when I shut down the laptop it just hangs there (NOT ALL THE TIME) telling me: shutting down but if I don't hit the button it will go on forever. Once a let it go for about 1hr and at the end I had to hit the button. I don't get any error what so ever.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my laptop (Dell Inspiron N7110) for less than a year, and everything has always run smoothly. I performed a format of my hard drive yesterday and installed a clean copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Everything went fine with the format process, so I didn't think anything was amiss until I tried to shut down the laptop before going to bed. And that's when I discovered that it won't shut down, unless I physically hold down the power button (which I don't like doing, for obvious reasons.) If I choose the "Shut Down" option from the Start menu, the laptop goes through the "Shutting down..." process perfectly fine, but the laptop boots up again immediately upon turning off. So it's like instead of shutting down, the system just does a restart. Which is fine for some things, but I do eventually want to shut down my laptop (I don't like leaving it on overnight in case there's an electrical storm, for example.)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had an HEUR:Virus.win32generic virus detected by my Kaspersky. I coud not get rid of it, so I deleted the file that it was in. All I remember is that the file ended in avgcorex.dll.Everything else works fine on the computer now except that when I go to start and shut down. The laptop shuts down but it turns itself back on right away.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer used to get stuck on shut down on half my shut downs. A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: Unknown
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP G71 with windows 7 64bit and its really annoying when I get to 13% battery it says low battery and when it gets to 8% it just shuts down... i was wondering if there was a way to disable that function or if there was a way to completly eliminate this function. Ive searched all the battery settings and have searched the internet and sadly cannot find anything about how to get rid of it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedLaptop will not turn off when I tell it to shut down. The operating system seems to shut down, but the computer itself stays on (case lights and fan are still active) and can only be turned off by holding the power button for 4 seconds. I have tried everything short of re-installing the OS - which I cannot do because of the non-transferable programs I have on this laptop. It is a Dell Vostro 3450 running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOk so when I had XP I would always use hibernate and only about once a week I would actually reboot the computer completely. Now that I have Windows 7 I would like to do the same. But now when I click hibernate the screen goes black and everything shuts off but the computer acts like its in standby. The lights are still on and computer is running.
Once this happens I cannot get back into windows or reboot without holding down the power button to force a reset. Each time that I have done with Windows 7 boots an error saying the computer was not shutdown correctly. Anyone know why it won't completely power off when I click hibernate. I have tried it about 5 separate times and it has not worked once.
My laptop does not shut down fully when I click on shutdown. The only way everything is shut down is using the power button. I also have some performance issues I have 2 drivers that are causing the laptop to run slowly - intel graphics kernal mode driver and Windows driver foundation mode.
